The Pyromancers: Fire-type Pokémon Club

Butterfree, eh? That's a new one to me. Swellow could've been a great Fire/Flying-type as long as it got good physical moves to go with it (I personally would like something better than Flame Wheel or Fire Fang that doesn't take recoil)

I don't know about Swellow... its designing is just too cool-looking to be a fire-type. :( Perhaps if it were recolored, though, maybe it could have made sense for it to be partially an ice-type.

Ice-types? No no no, we melt Ice-types in here. Muahahahahaha

Muahahahaha

:P

Talonflame is better anyway, if you ask me.

I know it's weird to post a new topic and then reference an old one, but I just got an idea for a new fire type attack.

Flash Flare
The user ignites the air around the target into a white inferno. The fire hits those weak to it for four times the damage. However, a white flame cools quickly, and types that resist fire take no damage at all.

No problem, I actually encourage that if it's a good idea. Keeps things flowing, ya know?

That's an interesting move, so would Scizor, Abomasnow, etc. take 8x damage?

That's actually a pretty amazing idea. :] Would it have any effect of sorts, though? If so, then I think it should be leaving the foe paralyzed. There just aren't much fire-type attacks out there that paralyze opponents, you know? Maybe there aren't any at all, haha.

I was gonna ask, are there any? I don't think there are, and that would be awesome. Maybe for that Fire/Electric Pokémon we all want (by all I mean me). :P

May i suggest a new topic maybe? Since the club got kinda quiet :P

What Fire-type Pokemon do you like the least and why?

For me its a tie between Flareon and Pansear/Simisear.
Flareon is imo the worst of the eeveelutions, has average stats and a pretty bad movepool.
Pansear/Simisear are just so bland and there is nothing special about them at all...

Wow, I didn't realize how very few Fire-type Pokemon there are - Until I looked just now. No wonder taking the fire starter is always a good idea.

The ones that haven't been introduced yet... we need more of them!

If you want an actual answer, though, I'd have to say Heatmor. I don't like the art for it much. All of the veins on its body are confusing to look at. I guess I should try to use one, and see if it's any good, before casting final dispersions.

Thanks, topics haven't been holding out as long lately.

Heatmor would be mine too, it's very strange in terms of design. There's plenty of other Fire-types I would rather use.

Flareon is still an eeveelution, so I can't bash it too much. The Fire monkeys...well let's just say that in Black I picked Oshawott and was stuck trying to beat the first gym with Incinerate which had 30 base power. It wouldn't even hit for half when super effective! Took me forever to beat the gym.

Honorable mention to Infernape/Emboar lines for falling on their face trying to be nearly as cool as Blaziken.

Totally agree on this! Infernape was fine, but Emboar was just like "Nooooo GF whyyyy?!"
Ive always thoguht Heatmor could be so much cooler than it actually is

I love fire types because they are strong, basically xD Also, they're not as common as other types, there's not such a great variety... That's also a plus point, 'cause it makes them special =)
Also I love fire types because of Charizard. Or is it more that I love Charizard because he's fire type? I wouldn't know about that. But well he's my most favourite pokémon =)

Current topic: If you could convert one existing pokemon to Fire-type, what would it be?

hm... If I could, I'd change... hm...I'd say Lucario from Steel/Fighting to Fire/Fighting, since the steel type has the flaw of not having strong attacks (or well they lack accuracy, which is bad), so I never have my Lucario keep a steel type attack in his moveset. Which is kind of a shame. Then again I also wouldn't wanna change Lucario, because he's my second favourite pokémon and he's epic as it is =") so let's say... Luxray! I'd change him into electric/fire and I'd give him a speed boost =)

Ok, THAT is acceptable. But I don't get how Mienshao and Torkoal fit in (Swalot is jelly, I presume).

Welcome! Luxray would be really cool as a Fire-type (just cuz Luxray is really cool). I wish they had made it a Dark-type right off the bat though, considering it's appearance and move pool already.

That's really cool, I don't see Swalot as pudding, but hey, whatever floats your boat (in lava, of course) :P

Also, I just looked at Heatmor, and wow, it's head does not go with the rest of its body. Holy crap.

Why not say: "Whatever cooks your bacon!" instead of floating boats? :D
