Just a notice to all still reserved: This is the last day to get your SUs in before the reservations are let loose and anyone can come in to get a spot. If you have a reason as to why it isn't in and may not be in after this day then please tell either of us. To let you all know I have a test this tuesday so I will be unable to look extensively over SUs and Bastian will mainly be looking over those that come in. Do well and get those SUs in!
For medics it's not really staying behind in a tent. It's more along that they stay on the sidelines or behind any battlers and when someone falls or gets injured they move over, trying not to be hit by attacks, and they use medicine to heal them up. They will be on the battlefield and require that their allies protect them so they don't get blown away.
No. Filthy Mechanists are forbidden from using the healing grace granted by Lord Goomy Arceus. They must make do with humanity's disgusting and worthless medical technology.
Here's my brand-spanking-new character sheet! Be ready to be dazzled! When it's completed, of course.
Spoiler:
Name (Self-explanatory.): Ragnorak
Age (For Knights the age range can be from 15 to 35. For Mechanists the age range can be from 18 to 55): 34
Gender (Self-explanatory.): Male
Pokemon Species (What are you?): Charizard
Job Title: Knight of Oran
Appearance: Ragnorak is rugged, even for a Charizard. His entire body beneath his armor is coated with scars from past battles, and his left wing is a bit tattered from previous fights. The upper half of his left horn is torn off and his left eye has a scar running over it. I suppose his general appearance could be entitled, "The Veteran." Years of service has left his body strong, but steady. The normal orange of a Charizard is replaced by a deeper shade of red, the light blue of wings replaced by a darker shade, almost black. Ragonorak's flames are a bit brighter, and larger, than most other Charizards'.
Despite his battle-scarred body, it is almost never visible underneath the heavy, black steel-plated armor he wears. A heavy breastplate sits across his chest, covering his entire stomach, chest, and parts of the back, save for the area around the tail and wings. His wings are shrouded with a light cover of chain mail. Wrist guards run along the back of his claws and arms and come to a halt right before his shoulders. His legs are relatively non-existent, with greaves covering them as well. Ragonorak's helmet is the most notable feature on his body. It forms to fit his head perfectly, and it seems that it is impossible to take off, although it isn't. A metal layer covers the upper part of the skull with the exception of his eyes, and a metal layer lays across the line of his bottom jaw.
Personality (Two paragraphs at least required. I consider this a very important section so make sure to flesh yourself out. If I feel that your character is not fleshed out then I will make sure to inform you of what you should add. It is highly recommended that you add in religious beliefs, talk about how they act toward those in the other side of the war, and their own beliefs in how the war should be carried out.):
History (From childhood to where you are now. If you have an questions about specific ways a child is raised in the civilizations then feel free to PM me.):
Moveset (Only four moves. Mechanists can learn TM and HM moves.): Dragon Claw, Fire Fang, Dragon Dance (Egg Move), Outrage (Egg Move)
Roleplay Sample (Has to be at least two paragraphs, but you can do one of the following. 1) You can lift a rp sample from another roleplay and slap it here or 2) If you don't have a sample such as that, you can just make a small post as your character. It's none canon and will simply serve to show off your rping skills. Not only that but it'll give Bastian and I a quick view into how well you can rp.)
No. Filthy Mechanists are forbidden from using the healing grace granted by Lord Goomy Arceus. They must make do with humanity's disgusting and worthless medical technology.
I realized how stupid my question was when I reread the OP.
Instead of restricting themselves to healing moves there are Mechanists who have mastered the art of using the healing centers that are inside the pokecenters and learned how to effectively use and make potions.
Age (For Knights the age range can be from 15 to 35. For Mechanists the age range can be from 18 to 55): 20
Gender (Self-explanatory.): Female
Pokemon Species (What are you?): Chimecho
Newborn or Entrenched Mechanists (For Mechanist players.): Entrenched
Job Title: Medic
Appearance (One paragraph required, or you could just submit a picture. Make sure to include your weapons/armor for this section. No need to go into large amounts of detail, but if you want to make it five paragraphs and explain every single inch of your character's body then go ahead.): Perisophia looks just like your typical Chimecho. On her yellow sucker, she wears a cyan bow, not merely for fashion, but for helping her memorize things. As a Medic, she takes personal hygiene of utmost importance, as such, dons medical gloves on her two stubby hands. As much of a pacifist she is, Perisophia carries around sleeping pellets in her first aid kit to be used as her last form of self-defense, only for situations when she is under attack.
Personality (Two paragraphs at least required. I consider this a very important section so make sure to flesh yourself out. If I feel that your character is not fleshed out then I will make sure to inform you of what you should add. It is highly recommended that you add in religious beliefs, talk about how they act toward those in the other side of the war, and their own beliefs in how the war should be carried out.): Introverted in nature, Perisophia is always hesitant in both words and action. Coming from a family of professional Medics, she has to live up to not only her parents' expectations, but also to continue bearing the family's name and legacy. As such, her constant fear of disappointing others has led to a strong sense of insecurity, which is her greatest flaw. She is the sort who is very self-conscious, worrying what people would think of her, thus making her timid in socializing, often choosing her words carefully. When she gets caught up in the moment, she is easily flustered and overwhelmed. When that happens, her mind starts to panic, causing her actions to be uncoordinated. Her nervousness has also often been the cause of her forgetting important details. Due to those facts, she sees herself as a pathetic dead-weight that only hinders the progress of those who sought to help her.
Perisophia is not one with just flaws either. In those rare occasions when she is calm and composed, she is a reliable medic who knows her stuff. She is usually kind and caring to friends, no matter how few they come, and her intentions are always well. She is always willing to lend a hand, always seeking to prove her usefulness. Perisophia is also a pacifist, reflected in her chosen path of being someone who heals and supports others. As much as she wished that both sides could coexist in harmony, she herself understands that peace comes at a price that is exacted in war, thus she will continue to protect the world she knows and if the Knights cannot understand that, she will simply hold her ground and not resort to violence, praying that compassion and benevolence will convert them. Regarding the Knights, she is rather puzzled as to why the Knights hold such pietistic views and morale yet seek to initiate strife between both sides. Alas, that is something for a philosopher and Perisophia would much rather remain in her medical expertise. On the religious side, Perisophia was raised in a family who held a strong faith in the Lake Guardians, especially Uxie, the being of knowledge. Thus, she values knowledge and learning, as do her ancestors. While she pursues a great interest in biochemical science, Perisophia also loves music and often hums tunes while going about her work.
History (From childhood to where you are now. If you have any questions about specific ways a child is raised in the civilizations then feel free to PM me.): Hailing from a lineage of professional scientists and doctors, Perisophia has much of the family's history to look up to and is constantly in the shadows of her ancestors. Seeing as her father (a Reuniclus) was a Mechanist researcher and her mother a doctor, it only saw fit for her to choose either the path of a field technician or a medic. Given her resolution to be one who helps others, the medic role was the one for her. In academics, she was book-smart and had a gift for being able to almost flawlessly remember details. This meant that she was always one of the top medical students, but to her, it was merely living up to her family name. As the saying went, "Mens sana in corpore sano" or "A sound mind in a healthy body", Perisophia tried as hard as she could to offset her fragile physique. She learned self-defense and protection by studying and memorizing Technical Machines that the Mechanists had, perfecting every detail until she was confident of smoothly executing them in times of need.
Evolution came to her on the night of her 17th birthday. Her parents appeared pleased and relieved, taking it as a sign of adulthood. For Perisophia, it only meant more responsibility and more standards to adhere to in the Sonclaire family.
She applied for the position of a Medic in the Declarum Forces, after much pushing from her parents who wanted their daughter to climb up the ladder, fervently hoping that its results would not disappoint her family.
Moveset (Only four moves. Mechanists can learn TM and HM moves.): Heal Bell, Heal Pulse, Telekinesis, Reflect.
Not only that but it'll give Bastian and I a quick view into how well you can rp.): It's been years since I last roleplayed so instead of giving you a cringeworthy three-year-old post, I thought I write something that's current and relevant. Also, pardon my zero canon knowledge of the roleplay >_>
Spoiler:
Noise. Blood. Cries of battle, cries of fury, cries of pain. Flashes of light and colour and blurs of movement as each side traded blows and all sorts of warfare. Perisophia winced at the sound of an explosion, probably the doings of a Demolisher. She hoped the Mechanist was not hurt. That was a foolish thought. They all were. Everyone would get hurt in the end.
A blood-curdling scream snapped her back to brutal reality. The overbearing scent of burnt flesh flooded her nostrils. She gasped. A Ledian with half his back roasted by a fire-based attack half-fluttered, half-limped back to the sidelines towards her. Perisophia then realized more allies falling. A Linoone was sprawled on the ground many meters away, body still as stone. A Sandslash was slowly backing away from the frontlines, deep crimson gashes in his arms and chest. The firefly crumbled to the ground midway and she hurriedly floated over to his side.
Third degree burns on his side and back. This was looking bad, but the Ledian needed her to do her utmost best. She closed her eyes, waving her hands over the damaged area. A blue aura manifested around the Ledian, as Perisophia channeled her healing gift through music. Euphonious waves washed over the burns, accelerating the growth of tissues and cells so that by the time her Heal Bell wore off, the Ledian had new flesh and skin, as though he had not received a burn at all. Perisophia mentally heaved a sigh of relief. Her worries were far from over, though. She fought to decide who to help first. The Linoone or the Sandslash? The Linoone could be dead and going to it could be a futile effort at the expense of the Sandslash. However, should she save the Sandslash who had a greater hope of living, she would blame herself if she discovered the Linoone died because she was not there.
"Hey, Medic! What're you standing there for? I'm dying!" The Sandslash's last word reverberated in her mind.
Who should she save? Who should she save? Who could she save?
Then, the Linoone suddenly cried out. "What kind of Medic are you? DO SOMETHING!"
Perisophia could not move. The Linoone was right. What kind of Medic was she if she could not even save lives? She was so useless! Her one and only job and she screwed it up. What Medic lets her teammates die? Perisophia pressed her temples, her thoughts in constant bombardment within, threatening to erupt. She couldn't take it any more. She felt herself screaming. Maybe it wasn't her, but she heard it - through her mind and back.
~~~
She woke up, with the scream carried over into reality. She sat up in her bed, breathing heavily for long seconds until it sank into her that it was just a dream.
"It wasn't real. Just a nightmare. Just a nightmare. Just a nightmare." She muttered to herself.
Congrats, Fantome! You made a very interesting charater, and as such, Perisophia Sonclaire is accepted! Welcome :3
On the same note, Garet's Felix Teufel is also accepted! Very interesting character, I very much like the semi-split-personality-twist. *Nod*
And with that, we're only missing a couple of SUs before we have everything ready and raring to go! Come on guys, let's see those last SUs! \o/
EDIT: Oh, apparently Archie's SU is finished as well! And I was really just waiting for the sample to be finished before I Accepted Dexter Fitzroy! Welcome abord, matey!
Hehe, whoops my mistake. Actually TODAY is the last day for reservees to get their SUs in. After today if our last two remaining players do not get them in then the gates are loose for two more to come and join us.
For everyone accepted, welcome aboard! SB and I have some great ideas to make this RP great.
Well, despite the immense power from Dex's moves, he is not a fighter. If he fails to end his target quickly, it typically means that he needs to retreat. His most common method of attack is using Charge Beam to keep his enemies at bay, and Wild Charge if they manage to rush him. But failing that, he doesn't have much else in the way of fighting and will probably toss up a barrier and run--at least to another hiding place where he can continue to shoot again.
I have some great ideas for this RP, too! I think my character will bring it a nice twist with some of the ideas I have! Don't worry though, I'll check to make sure everyone is okay with them before I actually carry them out. Getting pretty excited now, tbh.
Oh yeah, if any of you guys have ideas for plots or just something to do during the RP, feel free to share them with me or Greiger! We'll definitely try to make it a reality, and we -are- collecting a list of ideas for us to use further down the line.
I'm a Mechanist! I won't be fighting with me powers, I'll be having all dem badass weirdo weapons to pull the trigger on! Light Screen and Reflect, I just felt would be reasonable non-fighter moves.
Crap! Falling behind! My SU will definitely be done tomorrow or the day after! I have a grandiose idea for this character! This will be my legit application.
Spoiler:
Name: Franco Newman: Refers to himself as "Monster" when angry.
Age: 34 (Will retire soon.)
Gender: Male
Pokemon Species: Charizard
Job Title: Knight of Oran
Appearance: Franco is rugged, even for a Charizard. His entire body beneath his armor is coated with scars from past battles, and his left wing is a bit tattered from previous fights. The upper half of his left horn is torn off and his left eye has a scar running over it. I suppose his general appearance could be entitled, "The Veteran." Years of service has left his body strong, but steady. The normal orange of a Charizard is replaced by a deeper shade of red, the light blue of wings replaced by a darker shade, almost black. Franco's flames are a bit brighter, and larger, than most other Charizards'.
Despite his battle-scarred body, it is almost never visible underneath the heavy, black steel-plated armor he wears. A heavy breastplate sits across his chest, covering his entire stomach, chest, and parts of the back, save for the area around the tail and wings. His wings are shrouded with a light cover of chain mail. Wrist guards run along the back of his claws and arms and come to a halt right before his shoulders. His legs are relatively non-existent, with greaves covering them as well. Franco's helmet is the most notable feature on his body. It forms to fit his head perfectly, and it seems that it is impossible to take off, although it isn't. A metal layer covers the upper part of the skull with the exception of his eyes, and a metal layer lays across the line of his bottom jaw. His emerald is embedded on the crown of his helmet.
Personality: Franco is a walking contradiction. Although he is unbelievably loyal to the Knight's cause, he sees good in the Mechanists' movement and believes that if the two opposing forces work together, they can solve any problem they come across. Sadly, his superiors don't appreciate that sort of thing. Despite his battle-worn appearance he is quite intelligent and peaceful. He disapproves of combat in any form and is always looking for ways to end things without bloodshed. He does, however, know that that can't always be done. This Charizard is quite friendly, kind, and, although without a sense of humor, entertaining in a way. If Pokemon could have OCD-like tendencies, then Franco would have OCD. He's terrified of disorganization, and will feel the uncontrollable urge to spend hours cleaning a single mess if he feels it's out of place. Although social, he isn't very good with social interaction. Many times has he ended conversations with the words, "I think Arceus is calling me. Better go." And since the topic is there, he is very religious. Franco loves the thought of Arceus, and Ho-Oh, for his peaceful ways, and absolutely worships them, although he doesn't see Arceus' reason to hate the Mechanists.
Franco has a wife and two children back in Markus, and he cares deeply for them. Other than his father's wish, they are his only reason to continue fighting in the war. He wants to see a world safe for them and, for their sake, demands that he bury his anger once he retires. If he could make it home to them to help provide and care for them, his life will be happy once more.
His peaceful ways are always there...Until he gets angry. If Franco is driven to the point of anger by anybody he will release his full power on that person and his/her associates, and his fuse is shorter than he would like to admit. All remorse, kindness, and mercy flees from his body in an unnatural speed. He more-or-less becomes a berserker, and loses all signs of intelligence. His only drive is to destroy. He hates becoming angry, completely aware of the transformation, and tries to do everything he can to avoid unlocking his true inner power. He blames the blood of dragon's within him for his short temper, seeing as his father, a Dragonite, was the exact same way. He fears that, if unchecked, he could kill dozens of enemies and allies alike in one battle. It is difficult, but he has managed to suppress his anger when he feels that it would endanger people he cares about. For this very reason, he stays out of battle if possible. He fights, but he does so with as much mercy as he can muster, usually aiming for non-lethal blows if he can.
History: Born in Swine, Franco's father, a Dragonite, and his mother, a Charizard, were both knights. They were both retired by the time he was born. As a child his parents denied him the right to go play with "Commoner Children", seeing as both of his parents were accomplished Knights, once upon a time, and he hated it. He watched other kids play with envy when the family would visit other towns. He wanted to be a part of their games and mock battles more than anything, but still his parents denied him. He was, instead, subjected to physical training, studies on the legendary Pokemon, and drills on the Knight's Code.
Franco's mother, who was more on the extremist's side, hated the Mechanists with a passion and attempted to drill in "They're evil" as much as she possibly could. His father, however, was gentle, kind, and compassionate, and tried to teach him not to hate anybody. He could see his mother's reasoning, but his father seemed to be right. He began to take his father's philosophy. "Remember, Franco, to always show compassion, bravery, and mercy. Never kill if you don't have to. It's wrong to slaughter those who seek to defend their ways. You're a good boy...Daddy loves you."
At the age of 10, Franco took to training under his father instead of his mother. His father became his role model and mentor and personally oversaw his son's training. He even taught him the move Dragon Dance when he evolved into a Charmeleon at age 16. The pair soon began to get into the advanced combat that Franco was destined for. Once during a particularly straining training exercise, the Charmeleon grew angry and grew a red aura. His father knew exactly what was happening, but couldn't stop him in time. The Charmeleon began to lash out at every one of the trainers around him, crippling all but his father, whom he killed. When the Outrage ended he had no clue what had gone down. He looked at the trainers and his father's body and began to cry, asking what happened. When it was revealed that he killed them, he began to cry even more and locked himself in the family's barracks.
Franco refused to come out for days, but his mother eventually coaxed him out. She told him that it was his father's dragon blood that caused him to kill everyone. He had learned the move Outrage because his father was a Dragonite. Although it was true, Franco refused to believe that it was his father's fault. He began to train even harder as he went on, both denying his mother's training and staying with the trainers that he had crippled. At the age of 18, he became a full-fledged knight.
Franco's career in the knights has been a successful one. He mainly carried out the lesser tasks, such as silencing the random Mechanist scout or something to that effect. He didn't participate in full-out battles until he was age 26, when he evolved into a Charizard. The new form boosted his power by a significant amount, making him a fearsome opponent on the battlefield. He then received his suit of armor, and many began to secretly call him, "The Wings of Darkness." When he was 30 years old he met his wife, a Goodra named Cecily. Together they had a Charmander son named Bruno. He has been serving as a messenger, air support, and, in rare occasions, as a full-out soldier since then.
A lone stranger walks an arid, dusty road. The air was warm. Far more warm than most normal climates, but what could you expect from Post-Apocalyptia these days? The sun-baked road radiated heat in the most insufferable way. The wind-whipped sand flew through the air with impunity. It was amazing that anybody could survive this wasteland. It took a particular set of skills. Skills that could only be gained from a long, arduous career known as "Surviving" these days. Living was hard enough...To thrive one have to be the best-of-the-best. You have to be resourceful. You have to be tough. You have to have good judgement. You have to be ready to kill. You have to be ready to die....Death. It holds fear over so few these days.
So the Lone Wanderer walks. He has no set destination. He goes where his lonely road takes him. He follows his heart with hope that he can change the world, for the better or for the worse...Who knows? Regardless, he walks. He will walk. He will always walk. The only question is, "Is he a hero? Is he a scourge? Is he simply out for his own?" The true answer will never be discovered until the end, when the fateful battle upon the Concrete Divide. The battle that will decide history for the next century....Strange to think that a single man could have an impact.
The Lone Wanderer, garbed with trench coat and cowboy hat, walks even more. Eternally walking it seems. His tanned skin shows marks of wounds and animal bites. His stride shows broadcasts his confidence, his skill, his precision. Fear held no grip over this man. You could tell he lived for adventure, he had a light heart. A spring in his step indicated that he always has the best intentions in mind. He had the mindset to improve humanity's quality of living, to eradicate evil at the source. But before he did anything else, he had to discover himself. Discovering one's self can be the hardest task in their lifetime, but when they do they almost always decide it's worth it all. And this man felt that he was close. As close as he could be.
And he was. There were very few roads he had not walked, but those few roads were the most dangerous. One contained the remnants of a world of science long-since forgotten. One contained the ghosts of humanity's greed and those who still hold on to it. Another contains the conflicts of tribals and men of God. The final...The final road contains the answer to the Wanderer's questions. The key to himself. On this path...He would discover who he was to be. On this path he would finally make the decision, decide how to solve the conflict on the Dam.
On Hoover Dam...The fate of humanity will be decided.
Alright, last day for you last two peoples to finish up your SUs, and then we're going to have to allow other people a chance at taking your spots, and at that point, it'll be about who makes a decent SU first. I'm hoping it won't come to that though, so git your arses in gear! *Whip*
Alright all, edited the OOC. Look at our awesome new look that SB had Magic Fox whip up for us. I'll be working on the IC post and I'll get that in sometime later this week. I still have my test today so hopefully I can start working on it after this and get ready to start the plot rolling. :3
