Gen III was the generation with growable berries in fertile locations. It was a fun thing to do, considering berries like Lum Berry and Sitrus Berry were good for battles and berries like Watmel and Pamtre were good for contests. They even extended this feature in generation IV.

Would you like to see berries make a large comeback? Maybe an overhaul? What about the various new berries from Gen IV?

I would like to see the old RSE berry system come back with all of the new berries. XY's system was pretty good too, and I wouldn't be surprised if that made its way into ASΩR. I never really use Berries nor do I use the soil patches, so I'm indifferent on what feature is implemented. As long as we have some sort of homage to RSE.

I would like to see the berry system come back and all! I kinda dont like how XY had it and preferred the random locations and all! Seems fun tho :)

I guess the Berry Tracker Pokétch app was really useful, but it just seems to me that there are only a handful of useful berries out of the many available, because if you want berries for contests, you'd want them to be the best ones. So if they explored the in-battle effects further, and allowed more advanced mechanics for Pokéblocks, that would make them better?

This was one of the first features I thought of when thinking about these games, I really do hope they revert back to the original method from the original games. I found it so refreshing to explore the region and pick up berries as you go along!

As long as it isn't like HGSS I'll be happy. I would always forget about my berries in those games

I want the berry system to be like R/S/E.

However, I get irritated when there's lots of dialogue XD

I would prefer it remain like it was in the original games, albeit as said above with some app that shows how they are progressing in growing. Carrying only four plants with you in HGSS was kinda annoying and limiting.

...I just realised, pokéblock mixing could be done over the internet too now, so you wouldn't need to rely on making them with friends to get good ones! @_@ Yess

God, I really hope it stays the same as it did in RSE.
I'd love EVERY berry to be available, because that just means more for me to plant and grow cute lil' trees with and water with my Wailmer Pail. >u<

I definitely wanna see a large comeback with berries, and as others have said in keeping with their original format in the RSE games :) I don't really use them that much for battling, it was really the contests I used them for so I'm excited that I'll be growing them for a purpose this time lol :D

I'd like to see berries implemented pretty much exactly the same way they were in RSE - plant a berry in soft, loamy soil, water it (and the more you water it, the more berries you get from it), then pick them when they're ripe, or if you don't pick them, they "go to seed." I thought that was a great mechanic and none of the variations they've done since have been quite as satisfying.

I thought they would be gone for good if you don't pick them up pronto? Because of this, I was hoping they bring back the berry pots from HG/SS, so I won't have to run all the way to where I planted my berry before it dies.

Berries and the adorable Wailmer Pail should definitely make a comeback. Also, the Berry Master (the most ideal place to plant Berries in Hoenn, in my opinion) really needs to have a Fly checkpoint at his house, because otherwise you're required to Surf from Mauville City (or travel south from Fortree City, although that would likely take longer) every time you want to take care of your Berries there.

I'm hoping a "Berry Tracker" application is made available somehow, so all of the non-Berry Master plots can still be used. I also hope that the secret Berries that the Berry Master's wife gives (like entering "COOL LATIOS" in the Easy Chat System box) are present. The Generation 4 Berry yields should be used (seriously, Sinnoh was so generous with those! Most of the Hoenn yields are 5 Berries maximum per tree, and a lot of the "higher-level" Berries like Spelon Berry only give you 1 Berry if you fail to water properly!)

I'm hoping other post-Generation 3 Berry caretaking advances like Mulch and Generation 6's Berry Fusions return, too/

I see a few people commenting on the HG/SS system...wouldn't it be more efficient to have plots strewn across Hoenn and a portable Berry pot that you can take with you to monitor your 3-5 most needed Berries?

Also, Liechi Berry needs to be made a little easier to obtain than just Mirage Island (which has a ridiculously high requirement as it is).

I hope that Enigma Berry and all of the e-Reader Generation 3 Berries return somehow; it would be such a shame to let such good Berry designs go to waste! :( In short, I'd like all existing Berries to somehow be present in the game. XD

    Online Pokeblock-mixing would be nice!

There is a huge patch of loamy soil in the Berry Master's house. I remember growing my berries back there because it's an easy place to remember. It's near Mauville so I could just fly over there and travel a little distance to the right, which isn't really much because I used the the bike a lot.

If they retain the old RSE method of growing berries, which is something that I'd really like to see, I know where I'm growing my berries :p

Something like that area in XY where you could plant berries would be cool so they're all in a concise location. Then again seeing the patches here and there around the region was really nice as well. I'm game for either or.

I don't mind berries, but they just don't have much of use in-game, unfortunately. :( Well, yeah, some do cure you off status effects and recover your health whenever you're at low percentage, but once they're used, they are gone; there's no way to get them back unless you go find more. If they'd made some changes to the system and made them last longer--say, three uses per berry instead of just one---it would have been a lot better.

There must be some sort of unspoken mechanic in the fact that berries aren't very potent and the entire thing must be eaten to experience the full effect. It's kind of bum, though, but I think being able to just take a "bite," which would equal one use, of a berry would be awesome.

They should either make us able to hold more than one berry, make the berries more potent or simply change them in a big way. Perhaps Oran Berry can restore 20% and Sitrus restore 50% (so it's like a free Recover). That would really help out, like in PMD where Oran Berry is much more useful as a held item.

I prefer the berry picking system from RSE to the latest variations, especially the HGSS one, which got me irritated every time I went to pick a berry. :[ I like the idea of only biting a berry and being able to use it more than once, but I don't see them allowing more than one berry per pokemon in terms of holding items. Giving certain pokemon multiple Lum berries to hold in a competitive battle would be pretty unfair.
