    What rival do you find to be the most annoying?

    Honestly, the one in D/P/P is so annoying. He just said the most annoying things and tried getting you in trouble when you first started the game!
     
    Personally, I wasn't too fond of Wally. In my first run of Ruby when I reached the end of Victory Road, he challenged me to a battle. I just wasn't prepared for it at all, so I lost. For that, I was sent back to the Pokémon Center and was required to go through Victory Road all over again. It was pretty annoying. :p Along with him, I'm also not such a huge fan of Barry.
     
    Brendan/May. They show up at bad times and are so stupidly friendly and boring :( Made me really miss the evil Silver and the douchey Green.

    Gary was pretty annoying in the anime too though, if you count him as a rival :p And Bianca, gosh. Really didn't like her in the anime.
     
    I'd say Brendan/May, even though they are good as a protagonist, they aren't so great as a rival because there was like one battle that always seemed hard to get past (the Route 110 battle to be specific since I hardly had any counters for Brendan's Grovyle) plus the worst thing is they don't even fully evolve their starter.

    And Barry also got annoying at times but at least he was funny.

    This. He was more likable than other rivals, and had some moments of amusement. I can see why he'd be annoying, but name him something silly like COFFEE and the entertainment value goes up.

    The worst for me by far are the RSE 'rivals'. Wally has... potential, but he's not much of a rival if you fight him twice and he goes missing between the 2nd/3rd gym and the very end of the game. As for Brendan/May - well, they were too nice, kept giving you presents each time, and then gave up before they even fully evolved their starter and went back home. And then tried to give you advice when you're fighting the Champion. :V

    Hugh comes after (before?) them - he was one dimensional, not entertaining (more annoying), and the story for him was pretty poorly told as well. Huge step back from BW's Cheren and Bianca. 6th gen rivals were also underwhelming - most barely had much screentime and so not much chance to develop, and Shauna was annoying for myself. (The heck with the fireworks scene?)
     
    Barry or Shauna. Barry was too crazy, and Shauna... Well, I felt really uncomfortable during the cringe-tastic fireworks scene. Having a 11-year old girl with a huge crush on you is... not fun.

    I actually really liked how Wally was handled, because the first time you fight him he's a complete pushover, and he vows to get stronger. Then, at the end of the game, he shows up with a really tough team to give you a rematch.

    I agree with this - Wally is one of the few characters in the series to have any real character development. I just wish that Wally was a much more important character as he seemed to be forgotten for about half the game after Mauvile City.

    I found Bianca the most annoying personally. She was just completely useless and had some stupid daddy issues that felt like padding due to how quick they were resolved.
     
    Most annoying would be the Black/White 2's Hugh. I didn't like how he automatically assumed me to be a friend who he could follow around. He was way too friendly that I couldn't feel a rivalry spark.
     
    Shauna. SHE IS SO ANNOYING!!!!! arg. I like calem/serena they seem really cool.
    Barry, I loved him. He was just the awesome guy in my childhood. nostalgia, anyone? He was my first rival, so he has that special place in my heart. and besides, I'm never late.
     
    Why is everyone saying Shauna? I thought the fireworks scene was cute. :3 I'm gonna either say Barry or Bianca cause Barry's bit of "fining" you everytime and his always being impatient and always bumping into you annoyed me. Binaca was just so stupid (and so is Shauna to an extent, but I find her stupidity kind of cute for a strange reason) and just so stereotypical blond that she annoyed me.
     
    I would have put Blue onto the spot but because he is known to be a ****** and this actually makes me laugh, the winner goes to Silver. Bragging about himself and his "strong" Pokémon, and pushing you out of his way even after you beat him. What a complete a**hat!
