Is Magikarp red, or orange? My friend and I have been arguing for 4 HOURS on this topic. Also, Seaking, red or orange. Goldeen, red or orange?

When in doubt, consult Pokemon General's color-blind moderator! According to Bulbapedia:

Magikarp is a medium-sized fish Pokémon with large, heavy reddish-orange scales.
Seaking is a large, orange, fish-like Pokémon.
Goldeen is a white, fish-like Pokémon with orange markings on its tail, back, and fins.
I've always considered Magikarp to be more red than orange, but then again, I'm probably not the best guy to be asking about questions like that. Hope that helps a little bit!

Its Pokédex colour is red so it must be red. There is no way the Pokédex colour could be inaccurate...

    ...right?

seriously in what world is druddigon red

Magikarp could be red or orange depending on individual! Slight color variations are always interesting to me. (Not shinies.) But I've always seen it as veering more towards red in all of its depictions. Of course, the reason this argument may be happening in the first place is the way we all perceive colors is slightly different. So things that are inbetween can be red or orange depending on the cones in your eyes.

Seeking looks clearly orange to me though. As does Goldeen. They veer more towards a yellowish side of things rather than red, which creates orange.

I feel like Magikarp is more red than orange, but when it is shiny it's more of a really bright orange than yellow or red. I've always thought Magikarp was red. lol
If this was irl, it could depend maybe where the Magikarp lived, maybe they would be darker in northern waters, and lighter in southern waters.

Is reddish-orange not acceptable? Why is it either one or the other?

All the Pokémon that are generally orange will sometimes be viewed by the Pokédex as either red or brown by their listing. But if the Pokédex color states that it's red, I don't think they'd argue with that much if at all.

I assume the Pokedex is only taking into account it's head and spikes... (also am I the only one who is laughing that it's color has only 'Red: 1'?)

How about Charizard everybody? The remake of it's game is called FireRed (to to mention it's original)...which sounds like it's referring to the shade...yet Charizard is somewhat more orange than 'Red flames'.

Alas I am here to proclaim that magikarp is in fact red.

No other posts will be needed at this time.
