Trios

I absolutely love the main trio (Kyurem, Zekrom, Reshirem) because they remind me of the original Ice, Lightning, Fire Pokemon Arcticuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. I also like Cobalion, Virizion, and Terrakion for their unique beauty.

I adore almost all of the trios nowadays but if I had to pick one it would be the Regis due to not only the puzzle process but also their kickass battle theme which I still cannot get enough of to this day, that and they were all bros when I used them in more competitive battles at the time, especially Regice that's for sure.

The Regis were certainly the most fun to find, but I never found much of a use for them in battles. I did try to use them in the Battle Frontier. It didn't work out well.

I really like the dog trio. You know, Suicune, Raikou, and Entei. They were pretty fun to find when I got older. When I was younger, I'd freak out whenever I found one, and I'd flip out once they ran away immediately. In any case, they're really useful in battles, and I've always adored Suicune for some reason.

Weather trio. I loved the cutscene in Emerald, and they're just epic. Couldn't catch either of them though. >> Sky Pillar puzzle was so hard. >>

Personally, I like the tao trio (Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem) because their designs remind me of Yu-Gi-Oh monsters (Reshiram looks like Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Zekrom looks like Red-Eyes B. Dragon and Kyurem reminds me of White Night Dragon, even though it doesn't look entirely like it). The weather trio is cool as well because of their roles in Emerald.

I like both of the trios from Gen III. I'd never think to use the Regis, but catching them in my Sapphire was a real challenge - in a good way. On the other hand, catching the weather trio was formulaic, but I really liked using Kyogre and Rayquaza, and I have a mild affection for Groudon, even though I've never used it. All of them look cool, as well, which is more that can be said for a lot of the other trios.

Most of the trios I develop a liking for. However, I never took to the Regis for some reason; possibly because I don't find them that visually appealing (silly reason, I know!). Though I am not fond of how many legendaries exist now, I am fond of the stories behind them all. It's rather fascinating at times, and I find myself wanting to learn more about them.

I don't think much of the new trios really. They're cool enough on their own, but I need more reason to like them over something like the Regi trio, for instance. I don't know why but having a preference to the familiar is tough to shake off unless I really like what's new.

As for which trios I liked, I really found the legendary beasts trio interesting and well-designed. They all look cool, introduced the roaming legendaries mechanic, generally make a presence in any game you throw them in (and with one of them even making a surprise version mascot appearance), and are just great in battle, not the best but good enough. Plus Suicune is awesome.

I agree that the stories behind trios are really fascinating. It adds more to their appeal.

For me its easily the Legendary birds, there's something appealing about all of them for me whereas in other trios I only like one or two of the pokémon :)

My favourite trio was the legendary beats one.
The three Pokémon look badass, and after the awesome birds trio they managed to match them up nevertheless.
Ok, the way to catch them is the most annoying ever, but anyway, they're awesome.
