    Chapter 1: Littleroot Town

    - a town that can't be shaded by any hue -

    Littleroot_Town_E.png

Littleroot Town is a small town located in southwestern Hoenn that is nested quite nicely in the middle of the Hoenn forest. There is almost no place of interest in this quaint town except for the house of the Delta Episode hero and the laboratory of Professor Birch, the professor who specializes in Pokemon habitats.

The town can be accessed by using the path provided by Route 101, leading to Oldale Town, or by trudging through the Hoenn Forest although that would not be beneficial since it leads to nowhere if you don't follow a specific direction.

    Tasks:

    Spoiler:

GM Notes: All other in-game houses are in the town, plus some other residents. You can go visit Brendan, the supposedly Hoenn Champion who turned the job down. You can go visit May, Professor Birch's daughter. You can do anything here, but as you can see, there is nothing going on much here really. However, only Professor Birch is of note here in this town. Proceed to Route 101 immediately.

    Chapter 1.1: Route 101

    - this grassy path running between Littleroot Town and Oldale Town is perfect for doing fieldwork.-

    Hoenn_Route_101_E.png

Route 101 is a short straight path connecting two little towns, Littleroot and Oldale Town. There are patches of grass here for low-leveled wild Pokemon but trainers could be rarely seen here as they are itchy to proceed onwards. There are several ledges here where some items can be found dropped by careless new trainers.

    Wild Pokemon:

    Spoiler:

GM Notes: Oldale will open up soon.

    Ellis Tove - Littleroot Town

The world was certainly full of surprises, or so was the thought that crossed Ellis Tove's mind when he first set eyes on the tiny speck of civilization that was Littleroot Town. Everything except nature seemed sparse here—buildings, people, even the variety of pokemon he'd noticed on his way here. It was just trees and grass, more trees and more grass. Jarring for one from Sootopolis City, where it was water, water, and more water. But he supposed that one could not always judge a book by its cover, and there was probably some very good reason why a renowned Pokemon Professor and a would-be Pokemon Champion would hole themselves up in such a backwater place. Even if such information could not be gleaned at first glance. Looking down at his bagon, Ellis gave a weak shrug, as though they had both expected more than what they found—but while Ellis was underwhelmed, the small blue pokemon did not seem quite so disappointed. There were ledges aplenty from which it could jump and ram it's head against, and that was more than enough to fill the criteria for what defined a 'nice town' as far as it was concerned. So for the last two or three miles, Silas had been let out of his pokeball and together they had been slowly meandering along path to Littleroot; The two of them stopping now and again for the curious bagon to explore as he pleased-- but thankfully staying out of any real trouble.

Ellis was not here to sight see anyway- there was no reason to have expected anything impressive about the town itself so long as he could see Professor Birch and get his pokedex. It was just a pit stop, really. Adjusting the strap on his white one-shoulder backpack, he took a deep, resigned breath and headed towards the largest building—which he hoped, peering at signs standing beside the buildings of the other structures as he passed, would be the Pokémon professor's laboratory.

  • As Zachry began to approach Littleroot Town, he began to feel a convoluted mix of emotions as the weight of what he was doing dawns on him. After five years of what can be described as a bittersweet mix of coming to terms with his mother's death and being under the care of the Bevins, he has finally set out on a journey with his beloved partner, best friend and Pokemon Charlotte. In the time he has known her, he has to believe that this Pokemon would be the closest thing to a friend he has. After all, it's not like he even had any friends to speak of in Sootopolis. It's not that the people there were mean or anything like that; quite the contrary, the people of Sootopolis were very carefree and jovial. It was that he had kept to himself, kept in contact with the friends he had in Lavaridge and felt no obligation to accept the change to Sootopolis any more than was absolutely necessary. Maybe it was a look that briefly flashed on his otherwise stoic visage that he kept up when in public or perhaps it was the way in which Zachry's footsteps slowed, but Charlotte seemed to pick up on a change in her owner's mood and let out a concerned "Fen?"

Zachry stopped, scooped Charlotte up and hugged her. She nuzzled his owner as he hugged her for what seemed like an eternity while tears slowly rolled down Zachry's face. Having such a loyal, empathetic and cheerful companion was really Zachry could ask for in life, especially at moments like these. Wanting to lighten the mood, Zahcry offered the little Fennekin a ride on his shoulder. Charlotte's face lit up slightly as she loved clinging to his trainer and nab a view atop someone as tall as Zachry. Going onwards with a content Fennekin on his shoulder and an exciting proposition on his hands, his mood slowly starts to improve the closer he gets Littleroot Town.

Finally, after coming all the way from the other end of the region, he arrives at the small town and notices how quiet it is. Coming from a fairly small town himself, Zachry doesn't particularly mind and is filled with nostalgia of his childhood in Lavaridge. Upon entering the town, the first building that grabs his attention is the modern white building that is sure to be the Pokemon Laboratory. Wasting no time in taking in any more about Littleroot in a fit of unprecedented eagerness, Zachry takes a deep breath, and prepares himself for what lies ahead of the door to the lab.

    Littleroot Town

The peace in Littleroot Town was broken by the intense barking of a pokémon from the edge of the forest. Out from the trees came a young man running, with a Growlithe just behind. The tiger dog didn't seem to be what he was running from, though. Barc threw glances over his shoulder now and then, and when he reached the first white fence in the town, he finally stopped to catch his breath. Smiling back towards the forest, his eyes met those of a very angry Mightyena, lingering there without really wanting to come out too close to humanity.

"Sorry!" Barc called out to it. "Should have asked first!"

Growlithe had sat down on the road next to his trainer. He now barked back, but in a much more happy manner than the larger pokémon had done before. Next to the hyena, a tiny furry face peeked out, shyly and barely visible through the foliage unless you knew it was there.

"Let's play more some other time, little one, yeah?" Barc called, with a wink. The shy face might have smiled weakly, before it retreated into the green with its parent.

The man reached down to pet his companion. "We'll find her later again, I'm sure. For now, let's see if we can find that professor, yeah? Because I think this... This is probably Littleroot Town."

After a short walk, they did indeed find a big sign saying Littleroot - A town that can't be shaded any hue. Evidence enough that they had come the right way! Another ranger had given them a ride on their Altaria all the way from Fortree City, but somewhere after Oldale Town, they had gotten an urgent message and had to drop Barc and Growlithe off to walk the last bit to the starting point of their upcoming journey.

Luckily, Littleroot really was a tiny town, so the laboratory was not hard to find at all. It still didn't quite look like a laboratory - more like simply a slightly bigger house. As he approached the entrance, he wondered how many others might already be out on their own gym circuit challenges... How many rivals did he have that he hadn't even met yet?

    Littleroot Town

"Goddamn, this place stinks," remarked Payton Murphy to nobody in particular. Or, that's what he would have said, had the man right in front of him not been Professor Birch, the Hoenn region's leading researcher on Pokemon, and the one in possession of his soon-to-be Pokedex. Even if the lab did have a certain aroma to it, thanks to Birch's habit to study out in the field and what Payton could only describe as 'weird artificial laboratory smells', he wasn't stupid enough to disrespect the man's workplace.

Payton had stayed the night just outside of Oldale, before heading out to Littleroot early the next morning to receive his Pokedex. It wasn't that he was eager to start his journey, he had just decided that he wanted to be out of there before the other starting trainers showed up. They'd probably want to get to know him, considering that they would be leaving at the same time. The thought that someone might want to travel with him was more than enough incentive to get him up and away. With his Mudkip in it's ball tucked away in his duster coat and his dome swag swung over his shoulder by a lone strap, he kicked dirt over his camp fire's remains and set off.

Payton had realized after a few minutes of walking that he had never been down route 101 before; there had never been a reason to. It was hard to tell, otherwise. It looked just like every other route in the area, save for how little trainers there seemed to be. The entire town of Littleroot only seemed to exist thanks to Professor Birch's Lab, but otherwise it was completely out of the way. Before he knew it, he had arrived at his destination. Much as he had hoped, it seemed that he was the only one there. As he barged in to get the morning over and done with, he was overtaken with unpleasant smells, machines and papers everywhere, and the sheer whiteness of it all. It reminded him of a hospital's interior, and the people working inside with white lab coats only helped with that. He didn't get much time to look around, however. A middle aged man sipping from a coffee cup turned around with a shock as Payton rudely welcomed himself in, and the look of disdain on the man's face nearly rivaled his own.

"I'm here for my Pokedex," Payton stated flatly. Might as well skip the greetings, he wasn't planning on staying.

"I'm sure you are, but you've arrived too early. Professor Birch isn't ready yet." Drat. So, this man wasn't the professor he was looking for. He certainly looked the type, giving off a vibe that he held some kind of importance, yet now that he thought about it, Payton remembered Birch being a lot older. "Well then," he started, "Can I just say that this place reeks? I mean, you guys obviously spend way too much time cooped up in here, and I'd say Birch spends a bit too much time playing around in the mud. Someone around here should probably do something about that."

The guy who 'welcomed' Payton didn't look too happy about what he said, and looked as if he was about to spit his mouthful of coffee straight back into his cup. He politely swallowed it, however, and was probably about to impolitely give Payton a piece of his mind before he was interrupted. "Y'know, I haven't had breakfast yet. Got anything to eat?"

All Payton got was kicked out of the lab by a rather unimpressed scientist. Birch wasn't giving out his Pokedex yet, so it didn't make any difference. That was, until a couple of trainers arrived. Now there's something he didn't want to deal with. Well, if fate says that it can't be avoided, then so be it.

"Birch is busy. There's a grumpy scientist just inside, so I'd wait out here for a bit if I were you two." Payton looked between the newcomers as if he had something else to say, but instead just huffed and mumbled incoherently as he walked over to the corner of the building to smoke, yet only to keep the other trainers from bothering him. Some mutt was barking from not too far behind the laboratory, probably signifying the arrival of yet another trainer. Curse you, cigarettes, for being the only people deterrent I have. He told himself that he was quitting, but hadn't put any effort towards it. As he took a drag, he looked around the town to occupy himself. There were a couple of houses surrounded by forest, a- oh. Actually, that was about it. Yeah, Payton was pretty keen to leave already.

"This has to be it." An excited, if not just slightly nervous voice spoke to what seemed like no one in particular. Just down this grassy path was the tiny, tucked away town of Littleroot: Home of the well-known Pokemon Professor Birch, and Hoenn's own Delta Hero. Rose smiles and gives the little creature in her arms a delicate squeeze—for a long time now, Tanna the Vulpix has served as the most loyal of companions, and the occasional security blanket. As exciting as it was to start a new journey, Rose can't pretend she doesn't feel a twinge of nervousness at stepping into the unknown. It's going to be great, of course, the nerves just prove she still has a lot of room to grow as a trainer—which is also exciting. She takes a moment to breathe in the fresh air of the tiny town before glancing down to her dear fox companion, who looks upward to meet her gaze. "Ready?"
"Vul!" The tiny creature replies, and Rose breaks into a speedy jog.

There's a charm to these little towns. Of course, a part of her heart will always remain in the thriving city of Goldenrod, but it's nice to see trees in a town, and grass…yes, charming is a good word for these little towns. Professors must feel that way too; Elm and Oak both set up shop in tiny towns similar to this own, there had to be a reason…of course, it might just be that it's easier to focus on research when there's a distinct lack of people.

Speaking of Pokemon labs, that big white building has to be Birch's. Tanna's tails begin to wiggle in excitement as the duo make their way towards the building, gaining speed with each step. As the door to the lab comes closer into view, so do the outlines of others waiting by the door. Trainers? The closer they get the more certain she is, yes, these are Pokemon trainers, they're all here for the same reason: A pokedex and the beginning of a new journey. All traces of nervousness vanish from Rose's face as she makes her way towards the gathering. Tanna wiggles just a bit in her trainer's arms, curious to meet the Pokemon these trainers have brought along.

"Are you all here for a Pokedex too?" It's generally better to ask than to assume.

    Littleroot Town

Before Barc could reach the front door, another person who looked to be a trainer came out from the lab. It was a tall, grumpy looking dude with dark hair, wearing a long brown coat.

"Birch is busy. There's a grumpy scientist just inside, so I'd wait out here for a bit if I were you two," the guy simply said before he took off.

"You two?" Barc repeated, looking around to spot another guy approaching. This one was definitely a trainer, judging from the Bagon that was waddling along behind him. "Aha!"

Both of these guys were probably future rivals of his. But as of now, neither probably had a pokédex yet, and if Birch was busy... Hm. Well, that wouldn't stop Barc! He hadn't gone this far just to sit around and wait. Perhaps he could sneak in from the garden or something?

But just as he was about to dodge an encounter with the Bagon-trainer, another person arrived at the scene and spoke up. "Are you all here for a Pokedex too?"

He blinked when he saw her. Her hair was about as blue as Winona's was purple, which was probably the only thing he had ever found really cool about the gym leader from his hometown. Not that he would ever want an as odd haircolor himself, but he did find it interesting on others. Attractive, even. He found that he had suddenly completely lost the train of thought that he had going on earlier.

"Um, yes, yes I am, at least!" he replied with a characteristically wide smile. "Barc Nite is my name! I mean, I guess maybe since we'll be rivals in a moment, it would be nice to know each other's names, right?"

    Ellis Tove - Littleroot Town

Ellis sighed deeply as Silas decided that he needed very much to climb up a sign post and, what Ellis presumed to be his intention, jump off of it. The aspiring trainer pocketed his hands, watching the tiny would-be dragon struggle up the sign that had confirmed that he had in fact, reached his destination at last. He didn't seem to be the first either, what with the doors already unlocked and someone already inside- but he wasn't concerned about losing a few minutes over Silas' ever persistent attempts to fly off of strange places. There was no point in rushing around trying to be first to everything. Gazing around hoping to find some nice flowers to admire in the monotony of trees, he caught notice instead of a familiar face- raising his eyebrows at the blonde bespectacled swimmer. "Wow, fancy seeing you all the way out here." He waved at Zachry, hoping that the other boy would remember him and he wouldn't be the one awkwardly explaining how he'd creepily seen him at the lake in Sootopolis over the past few years. The sunglasses and flippy hair were really quite distinct.

But before any further exchange could take place, Ellis looked over at a (cranky) older man who had just stepped out of the lab to announce that Birch wasn't ready—and subsequently stomped away to smoke a cigarette. Was that allowed in a town like this? No matter, Ellis brushed off the surprise of the encounter, turning instead to the other trainers who were beginning to show up. It wasn't surprising that Birch wasn't ready yet—but it was a tad unexpected that so many would have shown up already given how early it was. (The only reason he had made it here was because Silas had made a big fuss about chasing a pidgey around at a god awful hour.) He hoped that not all of his rivals were as gung-ho as this gathering seemed to suggest. He might as well have given up here and now if that were the case. But instead, Ellis smiled around politely at Barc, Zachry, and Rose, saying nothing and waiting politely for Barc to answer first. He had half his attention geared on Silas anyway, who had tumbled off of the sign in yet another failed attempt and waddled over in defeat with a grumpy look on his face. "Ah- yes I am." He replied blandly to the blue haired girl's inquiry after noting that Barc had finished his spiel, before following the latter's example, "I'm Ellis- and this is Silas. Nice to meet you guys."

  • Zachry, not wanting to lose face among even this group of relative strangers, wandered over to where Silas and Ellis were and resumed his introduction before he was cut off by the gruff smoker.

"Um...hel-" His introduction was cut short when he broke into a fit of coughs. The wind changed directions and blew some smoke directly into Zachry's face. To think that one puff of cigarette smoke provokes a reaction out of a kid who spent his childhood next to a volcano..., Zachry thought dryly to himself.

"Ahem...uh, you're one of the swimmer guys from Sootopolis, right? Your name is Ellis, right? I, er, have, uh, not been swimming in quite a while, since I acquired-" Zachry gestured to Charlotte still perched on his shoulder-"her. She's, uh, not a fan of swimming." Charlotte emphasizes this point by nodding.

The first thing Rose noticed about this group was that each of them had a Pokemon beside them, instead of confined to a Pokeball: From this alone she finds herself automatically liking the group.

The tall, tanned male was the first to answer. His wide, friendly smile puts whatever nerves were still fluttering around in her stomach to ease. "Barc." She repeats in order to commit it to memory. It's an interesting name, and it's kind of cute that a man named Barc has a Pokemon that, well, barks.

Her introduction was cut off by Tanna's head quickly jolting to one side, Rose tilting her head in the same direction to see what captured her little fox's attention-- a bagon-- on...the ground. Oh! That's right, Bagon want to fly, she read that in a book on Pokemon native to Hoenn (there was not much to do on the boat ride from Johto to Hoenn). Poor little guy. Rose gives the grumpy dragon a tiny, encouraging smile as it waddles back to its trainer.

"Ellis, Silas." She repeats again, her attention now returning to the charismatic Growlithe trainer. He's right: They're going to be rivals, all heading down the same path towards the same goal—if nothing else, this was not going to be a lonely journey. "I'm Rose, this is Tanna." She smiles down at the Vulpix in her arms, giving her another tiny squeeze before kneeling down, setting the little creature on the ground so she could introduce herself to the other Pokemon.
As she straightens back up, she looks to the last boy, the one who was struggling to recover from a pretty violent fit of coughs. She breathes in, her nose wrinkling in displeasure as she realizes why. Who smokes so close to a group of people? That guy who was wandering off when she came towards the group. Her eyes give off a sympathetic gaze as she speaks to Zachry. "Want to come stand between me and Barc? It's a little more upwind."

As Payton waited around for Birch to come out, he noticed that the trainers hadn't ignored him like he had hoped. Instead, they seemed to give him looks of disgust as they glanced his way. Sure, he didn't want them to know he existed, but even less so did he want the trainers to look down on him. This wasn't looking good.

When one of the trainers was unlucky enough to get caught in the change of wind, he got a face full of Payton's secondhand smoke and started to cough. Pretty violently, too. He briefly thought about laughing at the kid's misfortune, but decided against it. He had a reputation to uphold, and this group of newbies obviously didn't think anything nice of him right now. Instead, he flicked his cigarette onto the dirt, ground it in with his shoe, and headed over to the coughing kid to say sorry. No, wait, turns out he was just going over to show him that he was actually an incredibly awesome dude. Looks like I can't win either way, he thought.

After sidestepping around the girl that had seemingly stepped in to shield the coughing teen from the smoke, Payton glanced down at the guy and thought of something to say. Hey, I didn't mean for my smoke to give you a coughing fit. No, that wasn't helping either of them. Payton noticed that the boy's eyes were red. They had either been crying recently, or he didn't take to smoke very well. Maybe he could ask him his name, and pretend to care? When a Fennekin popped into view from atop the teen's shoulders, he decided to settle with, "Huh, a Fennekin. Well, a wimpy Pokemon for a wimpy t-…" Oops. Luckily, he cut himself short before he could do something stupid. Smooth, Murphy. Smooth. After all, he couldn't be sure why, or even if the trainer had been crying recently.

That, and it probably wasn't a very nice thing to say.

"Look, I'm not very experienced with this. Y'know, chatting. Don't take what I said– nearly said– personally." Satisfied with his follow up, Payton gave a nod and turned around to address the rest of the group. If the trainer said something back, he didn't notice. He'd already started talking. "What's a guy gotta do to get a Pokedex around here? If someone could go check on Birch, that would be greeaat. I'm not exactly welcome inside, myself."

  • After awkwardly introducing himself to Ellis, Zachry and his Fennekin were struck by the smoker's blunt comment. Even though he stopped just short of saying what he was going to say, it was obvious what the man was insinuating. Zachry just stood there and bit his nail; he appeared to be on the verge of tears (again). It's not that what he said was extraordinarily heinous, it was that Zachry already was anxious enough meeting all these new people, let alone a tall, gruff man in a duster who insulted him on top of some residual emotion from earlier.

Gee, what do I do? If I stay here, I might be able to suck it up, but then how would I explain myself? If I run away, that makes me look like a bigger wuss than I already am! Why must people be so hard to understand?

Unsure of what to do, Zachry just stood there, frozen. It was in unsure times like these that he did what he felt like the only thing there was to do: ignore the world. Charlotte, with a concerned look on her face, nudged her trainer's face. It's not like she was taking the older man's snide jab personally. She licked him, attempting to soothe him. It appeared to work, seeing as how his shoulders relaxed and his body language seemed to indicate he was a bit more at ease.

With a slightly shaky voice indicative of someone holding back tears, he uttered meekly to the group, "Eh, s-sorry about that. I...get a little w-worked up." Zachry softly petted his Fennekin on her head, now content that her owner feels a little better.

  • Ace Decesare - Littleroot town

Ace was still in deep sleep when someone started licking his cheeks, As soon as he opened his eyes he saw that it was Thunder. He was looking at Ace
with eyes full of mischief and then he gave him a low powered thunder shock. "Ahhh...dammit, what was that for Thunder?" Thunder just ran outside. Ace followed his buddy outside. Ace watched as the first sighting of Hoenn came into view. The sun had just risen an hour ago, and the sight was amazing as the light lit up the distant land. Ace was leaning on the rail in the front of the ship with Thunder balanced next to him. He walked slowly with Thunder toward his room. He waited in his room for a few minutes before the captain of the ship began to speak over the speakers that were everywhere on the ship."We have arrived in Slateport town. Have a great time, and good luck to any new trainers." Ace walked eagerly down from the ship with Thunder. Ace pulled out the map and tried to tell which way he was meant to go.
So with that he start walking toward Littleroot town. Ace was now strolling through the forest with Thunder walking besides him. It was anything, but boring.

Ace just entered the town and saw a big house which certainly looked like a lab. He saw some people outside the lab. They all had pokemon besides them. They all are pokemon trainers. But why are they standing outside the lab? He started walking toward them. He walked toward a tree near the group of trainer and sat under it with Thunder on his lap. He did't want to interrupt their introductions.

"Aipom Aipom!" Celest cried out. Seraph Westdoor recently let the excited little Aipom out of his pokeball. Celest was acting very joyful, bounding and hopping around on its tail like a kangaroo. Seraph let him out because Seraph felt like they were getting close to Littleroot Town. "My quest to meet Archer is about to start! I hope you are as excited as I am Celest!" "Aipom!" Celest exclaimed, bounding forward excitedly.

Celest reached Littleroot Town first. The town was a nice, quiet, and peaceful place, unlike Slateport City. "Celest! Hold on! We have to be calm now, we're nearing the proffesor's lab!" Celest stopped hopping and started waiting impatiently for Seraph to catch up. "Ok Celest. We just need to look for a building that's out of the ordinary. That is probably the professor's lab. After a couple of minutes of looking, Celest shouted out. "Did you find it Celest?" In response, the tiny Aipom started jerking his head in the direction he saw the building. "Good job Celest! I think you found it!" He walked to where Celest was and looked at the building. Sure enough, this was the professor's lab. However, there were already a group of people waiting outside, and some weird smoker dude off to the side. Seraph made an audible grunt. "Why do there have to be people there? I really wanted to barge in there, but I guess I'll just watch from the side." Seraph started walking towards the lab, with Celest behind him, but making sure to keep a safe observing distance from the group of people.

  • Maurice Watson - The Dream Comes True

    427.png
    Briefcase:
    Spoiler:

The day had finally come for him to begin his dream of going on a journey and challenging the Hoenn Pokemon League. Maurice stepped out of the forest and into Littleroot Town. It was a quaint little town, not much to offer besides the Pokemon Research Lab that was home to Professor Birch, renowned for his fieldwork in the region. This professor was to be the one to make his dream come to full reality with a contraption called a Pokedex. Maurice had heard of it and knew of its basic functions but had never been lucky enough to see one and was quite thrilled to get to carry one with him.

Maurice made his way through the town and finally came upon the expansive lab that was perched upon a hill overlooking the city. "Oh dear...this is going to be quite the long trek up this hill. I suppose I would rather not do this alone" Maurice said as reached into his suit pocket and pulled out a small red and white ball and clicked it, causing it to expand. "Come on out Cocoa, we're finally here" Maurice said in his calming voice as the ball erupted a white light, leaving a small, brown rabbit-like Pokemon in its place. "Buneary!" The Pokemon called out as it stretched its body after being cramped in that Pokeball since Petalburg City. "I do apologize about the long stay in your ball, I just figured it would be easier traveling that way" Maurice said as he gave Buneary's long ears a pet.

The two of them had finally made it to the top of the hill, both tuckered out. "I'm going to need a buy more than just one extra suit jacket and dress shirt at this rate" He said as he could feel the sweat in his armpits and on his back causing his clothes to stick, "I hope this place has a washing machine." They reached the door, rang the bell and waited patiently as one of Professor Birch's assistants let them in. "I'm here to see Professor Birch, my name is Maurice Watson, I'm a friend of Joshua Steiner. I was told this was the place to go for new trainers. Also could I please get a glass of chamomile tea? I'm quite parched." The former butler said before finding a seat and courteously sitting down, his Buneary jumping into his lap, waiting for the assistant to leave. The assistant meanwhile thought it was strange that this man wanted chamomile tea of all things, not to mention he had to be at least 40 years old and wanted to start a journey but shrugged it off as she went to let the professor know of his visitor and to prepare the drink. The professor must know what he is getting into.

Aria took a deep breath as she approached Littleroot Town. She was excited, of course, but she couldn't help but feel just a tiny bit nervous. She was on her own for the first time in her life. There would be nobody to help her and Eliza control their powers. She knew that Cameron had moved to Mossdeep with his girlfriend and Sophia to keep an eye on her, but she couldn't depend on her cousin forever. No, she had to do this on her own. It was the only way to prove to her aunt that she could take care of herself.

She looked around for Eliza and suddenly regretted letting the Pokémon out of her Pokeball. Eliza was known for getting lost and causing all kinds of trouble. It was part of the reason Aria wanted her to learn to control herself. She sighed as she found Eliza picking flowers in a nearby flower patch. She knelt near the Espurr and petted her on the head.

"You can't keep running off like that, silly! What would you have done if we were somewhere bigger and I couldn't find you?" Eliza frowned as she looked down at the flowers in her paws. Aria picked up Eliza and hugged her tightly.

"I'm not angry. I just don't want to lose you. Let's go to Professor Birch now." Eliza purred and used her telekinesis to make the flowers into a crown and put them in Aria's hair. The girl smiled, happy that Eliza wasn't upset. It wouldn't be a very good first impression if her Pokemon destroyed Littleroot Town over a tantrum. She froze outside of Professor Birch's lab when she noticed that there were people there already. Eliza tilted her head as her trainer's anxiety grew.

Am I late? Oh, this is terrible... I knew I shouldn't have walked so slowly... I hope the Professor doesn't think I'm irresponsible...

    David Harrington - Littletroot Town
    Pokemon:
    Spoiler:

    Bag:
    Spoiler:

David looked around. "I think it should be somewhere around here", he wondered and looked questioning at Silver, his precious partner and Pokemon.
Wandering around to find any sign of their destination they were moving around on a small plain, grown over by bold green grass. Suddenly Silver sniffed and pointed at the path that divided the wall of trees surrounding them.
"You think it is over there?", David asked him. "Absoool!", Silver uttered affirmatively. "Then let's go!"
Awaiting a small, quit town filled with nature and silence David found a village overflowing with appearently new trainers. This was not what he expected nor what he wanted.
He was not so sure anymore whether a Pokedex would be necessary to become a good coordinator and trainer. Seeing the trouble in his eyes, Silver pushed David forward purring to encourage him.
"You are right, I just have to try to avoid as many of them as possible and get my Pokedex fast."
Looking at all these waiting faces made him realize that he would have to stay here for a little while. "Silver, I really don't want to go there", he whined. His partner still kept pushing him forward.
"Okay fine, I will sit here and wait until they are done, is that okay with you?", he suggested. Absol nodded enthusiasticly. He seemed much more excited than David.
With Silver calming him down, David sat down next to a tree. Petting his partner he did not notice the trainer with a Shinx on the other side of the tree.

  • Ace was lost in thoughts of his father. "Where are you, father?" he asked in a sad low tone. Thunder picked the sadness in his owner's voice and start licking his cheeks. "Shin..shin.."Thunder tried cheering his partner. "Sorry buddy, it..it's just some silly thing going over my head" Ace said taking Thunder in his arms. They just sat silently there. Ace started observing other trainers. A cheerful guy with growlithe, A nervous girl with vulpix, another nervous guy with Fennekin , a smoker guy . " Shin..shin." Thunder broke his owner's observation with a growl.

Thunder jumped from his lap and looked ready for a fight. Ace looked toward Thunder and stood up from his place. He looked on other side of tree and saw a guy with absol. "This guy's absol is looking......powerful" Ace thought in his mind. Thunder was looking tense to saw a much larger and stronger pokemon in front of him. Thunder started shaking. "Who're you?" Ace asked in a calm voice. "Ahh..don't think my Thunder is shaking in fear, he is shaking in excitement" Ace said with voice full of confidence and with that electricity start generating through Thunder's cheeks getting attention of all other trainers.

    David Harrington - Littletroot Town

David did not remember when he fell asleep, but his nap got interrupted by a small Pokemon. While he was still sleepy, he inspected the lynx-like. //This should be a Shinx, shouldn't it?//, he thought to himself. Then he noticed, that the Shinx looked like it wanted to fight against Silver. Silver, too, woke up from his slumber and examined the Pokemon standing in front of him. Suddenly David heard a human's voice. "Who're you?", the guy asked, who seemed to be Shinx' trainer. David was shocked. //Goddammit, I thought nobody would see me here!// Panicking he hestitated to answer. "Ahh..don't think my Thunder is shaking in fear, he is shaking in excitement", the black haired trainer clarified, not giving David the chance of responding to the former question. David squinnied. Then he felt Silvers head on his shoulder. "You're right, buddy", David whispered and stood up.
"Hello, I am David. This is Silver", he introduced his partner. "Can I... uhh, help you?" His head was aching, his thoughts became woolly.
