Why should we consider space to be the place that is related to what we see outside of the planet ? Technically anything that occupies space is matter, and we ourselves occupy the space as we are also matter. Therefore everything which we see around us is nothing but the space which is holding everything together due to many forces which may not be visible to naked eyes. There are many forces in space which take place simultaneously on the matters present in it.
So whatever we are seeing is in space, technically.....

I had to go totally robotic to survive being launched into space. Don't get me wrong, I still look real good, but I'm a water pokemon- I want to be slippery! I long for the ocean...now I'll probably malfunction if I go swimming

Rayquaza is Sky-High Pokémon, so going to space is not an issue at all.
