I think most mobile games are made first by keeping Android in the mind, because majority of people use it. iOS comes pretty behind in number of consumers, hence variety is not that much vivid.

Play Store has some good Indie games and the price of purchase is also decent. Though I had not purchased any of them, because I don't feel confident that I can commit myself into finishing the game.

Apple has the dominant smartphone market in the U.S, while android is predominant in most other places in the world.

I think it's because having an IPhone in the United States is seen as a symbol of high social status. My aunt and uncle (who are very wealthy) are always seeking the newest versions, regardless of features.

I like to use my mobile for pretty much anything which I want to do. I got my own phone when I got enrolled into Bachelor's, and before that I was not using any phones.

It is there in other parts as well, and it extends to their MacBooks as well. Indeed they bring amazing features onto the table, but their pricing is too much high. And as you said, most people use Android-based handset, due to which the game developers prefer the market size first. It is as same as why Windows is popular OS for desktops, and why it supports all important software.

Although, browser-based games are also nice to play I think !!

Almost same case was for me as well. Whenever I wanted to get some info for my project works, then I needed to provide the matters in writing to my father, and then he brought the contents from his office.

Until 3-4 years back, I was using Nokia keypad phone from which we can only call and message. The game there was Snake Classic.

And the Nokia phones used to very ruff and tuff in the past. My grandfather's phone is tough nut to crack. But nowadays, all companies are in favor of sleekness over the durability factor. Even the Gorilla Glass not used completely, rather we get cornering Gorilla Glass, instead of the full.

Although I keep my phone slightly sophisticated, because I am desktop user(who is stuck into laptop for some time), hence mobile is used in literal mobile way! Apart from Pokemon GO and couple of Arcade games, I use only following things :

  • Calls
  • Firefox
  • Wikipedia Software, as it allows us to save articles
  • Weather Radar, because I like looking graphical visualization
  • ZIP Archiver
  • Bus/Train Services, even our city bus is linked via the software!
  • Office Tools
  • Camera
  • Calendar and Clock
  • KDE Connect, you know it's purpose!

I don't use Whatsapp, Youtube, social media, etc. hence those things are not enlisted. Only in rare cases, like when I am traveling, I view PDFs on mobile.

I used to have some older phone. Unfortunately, they all required a special kind of SIM card that isn't used, anymore. And getting a smartphone also means you have to keep in mind that they, too, need regular updating. Another thing those older phones had it better: they were so simple, you don't need firmware updates.

I am now pretty much accustomed to updating my system once in a while, thanks to rolling-release. Although phone's updates are mostly dull as most of the times we get security fixes instead of some feature updates.

I prefer having atomic updates regularly rather than one massive update. It takes so much internet at once, and the reason for saying it is because I get internet on daily quota, hence installing massive update at once is risky enough to block out my internet for rest of the day !!

Although some sort of planning could be adopted, like using it before midnight, so as soon as midnight occurs then the next day's quota also comes into the use, but it also depends upon how fast the internet is before midnight.

Although I had noticed that internet speed is pretty fast between 12 AM to 6 AM.

This is the first time I've ever viewed this thread but... it's dropping like flies???

Hard to pick a side when this is so generalized and while I wanna stretch "cartoon world" to mean living in Love Live that practically just takes place in the real world and generally video game worlds are ones I'd enjoy being in.

Out of all though, i'm gonna lock in and say i'd live in the mega man world, preferably as a robot. if it'd just be myself then i'd choose pokemon for sure.
