My only complaint on the first one, is the colors on the actual forum. The blue colors make it look very..'default', if you get what I mean. xD; Those colors are close to the one's used in vBulletin's main layout, but other then that, I like the rest of the theme. The second one is nice, as well. :3

Forgot to say that the Content Areas are just place holders for now, so you don't have to worry about that. XD

And as for the BG on the first skin, what do you all suggest? :<
 
That tropical skin is awesome, though if the pattern below the banner were a sandy colour it would be better. (also it needs moar wailord! XD)

maybe it's just me but the GSDS themes are seriously being over done. I say focus more on the tropical one, it's much more unique and needed around here.
 
I like the use of blue in the first one, although the background is lacking... something, I can't put my finger on what it is.

In the second one, well, there isn't that much to complain about, it is slightly too full, if that makes sense.
 
Tropical: Another dark theme and its slick so I love it.
HGSS: So sparkly it hurts. Kidding its very good.
 
...kay, I know these are works in progress but I have my complaints about both of them. These are just my two cents, take it or leave it. :x

Right...your HGSS theme looks nice, though I just think it's way too bright and flashy; graphical effects look fine and dandy on most miniature pieces and I know that happens to be your style, but you have to remember and take into account that this is a style that would be seen by many people on PC and some may be sensitive to the fact that they are staring upon some very glaring features on the header and block bars, such as over usage of sparkles and dodge. Sure, they can switch from the theme if they find it a bit too much for them to look at, but forum style aesthetics ought to have a certain degree of consideration to eyesight. Both Lugia and Ho-oh look quite bright in that banner and as a suggestion I'd just try to tone the brightness down a notch.

Secondly, the banner contrasts from the background image. Just...the colour schemes don't match, you have darker tones over the header while in the background you have a rather warm and sunset-like overtone over the illustration, they clash quite a bit.

Overall, I think this is a rather potential forum style but I do feel that there are certain aspects of it that pull it down. I'm not going to rile on about them even more, just...would be nice if you could take it to mind if you ever do take this forward as an actual theme. I like Luke's version a lot and that's because he keeps the visuals simplistic yet effective. And I just feel that this theme hasn't got that sort of quality.

Your next theme is lovely, actually. I think the way you laid out the header is quite clever, but...I'm not sure what to make of the floral background beneath it, unless it's a place holder. Heavily clashes with the theme you're trying to portray in the header and I think the darkness of the background really doesn't suit the beachy and watery illustration. I'd just try to find something that would actually match the content of the header, otherwise looking upon the theme itself you'd be taken back by how much it contrasts with its own features.

Anyway, I just need to get that out.

I am in absolute love with that first theme, more so than the second because I'm totally biased. <3

The first one is AMAZING <3

I think instead of the floral pattern you should have a underwater pic of random underwater pokemon swimming, or sand with some sand pokemon, or no pokemon, idunno.


For the second one, you REALLY REALLY REALLY need to dampen the brightness I had to tilt my screen to look at the image properly >.< Also, look at many skins/themes on a range of forums... They are very simple. I think you need to get rid of all that overlay and effects between them, and on them, and maybe increase contrast, or use different pictures. Also, I would suggest picking one of the two instead of having lugia AND ho-oh, and having a picture of their respective lair from GSC and then idk... Sorry lol I'm altering it too much for you.
 
I honestly love the Tropical template, Cherii. My only complaint would be that it's possibly not narrow enough for my liking, but then, I'm biased. Every template I use must be slim. For example, the likes of Forever Standing. But, I would actually consider using the Tropical one.

However, when it comes to the HG/SS template.. I dislike it. Ever so much, but that's just my opinion. I feel as though the banner is completely over done, too flashy and in your face. The colour scheme doesn't all match up, either. I just feel like it's been slapped together, like say.. paint sprayed across a wall. It doesn't match, nor link up. Whereas your Tropical template is smooth, and flowing. I prefer that, much more.
 
Both are shockingly horrible, though I do like the first links banner. It's background could use a change to something different seeing as how it doesn't blend in well, with the HG/SS link you should start over again, it's too bright and the header doesn't blend in with the background at all, even the forum body doesn't blend in well. And this is my shockingly short 2 cents
 
I like the first one's banner, but the background leaves more to be desired.
In the second, the banner is fine, but the font choices are kind of.. awkward. I'm not really sure which fonts would be appropriate - I just don't really like the one in the current ones [Ew, lucinda~!].

And, I dunno. I'd wait for more official art to come out - everyone seems to be basing their banners/skins/themes/etc. off that darn Ecruteak scene. Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely scene, but it's getting OU. Then again, it's the only thing decent out so far.
So, why not, instead of locking yourself down to a skin with a Ecruteak base, wait for more artwork to come out? :<?
Futhermore, I have to question the amount of PokeBalls in the actual board itself. Remember, as a general rule of thumb, less is more. You want to make an impact, not an impedence.

Then again, instead of waiting for more art to come out, you could go with a colour scheme that would accentuate your banner. Because, right now, that banner and that background do not match.

In short, these have a lot of potential to be great, but just be sure to listen to people's comments. :[
 
I'll be replacing the floral pattern with a beachy scene once I get time.

And redo the HGSS banner to a more warm and bright color base.
