Read the VN! I liked somehow the adaptation, but the source material is (almost) always better.

If you're a fan either way, you should just go for the visual novels. It's fun to see things animated differently from what you might have imagined.

(and generally speaking, source material is usually better, not that the anime aren't)

I'll probably play FSN VN soon. Once I'm back in college.

Also, that looks sexy Phillip. Although way, waaay, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyy too time consuming. MAL in general takes effort so I'm sticking to Hummingbird for now. Been using it via the app they have (Tenpenchii) and it is super convenient. Updating your list and stuff, I mean. And I'm a fan of the UI too. No customization, yeah, but I've turned into someone who doesn't care about those things anymore what with kinda busy real life and my lazy nature. :p

Welcome to the new Anime & Manga DCC!

[PokeCommunity.com] uguu?

Just remember not to post lewds, lolis, or loli lewds and we'll be all good.

What do you mean by that? Like, are just regular, completely SFW cute pics of girls against the rules, then? It sounds like that would be banned based on the middle item.

Grab Realta Nua. It's better, and there's a fan translation of it that came out recently, it's on the same forum as the F/HA translation, should be easy to find.

Pro-Tip for How to Watch the Lodoss War series properly:

- Watch the OVA "Record of Lodoss War" up until episode 8 or 9
- Continue with the entirety of "Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles Of The Heroic Knight"
- Watch it in English...if nothing else than only to hear Lisa Ortiz sound better than everyone else despite Deedlit being her first role.

It just doesn't feel like me if I don't spend more time on visually organizing my anime than I do watching it, y'know?

I managed to grab a modified Realta Nua that gave the option to choose between the old and new versions of pretty much anything, be it specific music tracks or mana transfer scenes. It lets you customise your experience pretty well. I won't link it of course, but it's what I recommend.

Just went to check if my Lodoss OVA has dual audio.
It does. It seems like one of those cases where they just lowered the original audio and put English dialogue much louder on top of it. The original voices aren't audible, of course, but all atmosphere is gone since everything aside from the voice actors is so silent. Looks like I'll stick to the Japanese audio on this one.

Oh, Kenchiin, you've got jokes.

Some shows are only worth watching because they're in English.

For those of you that watched Yu Yu Hakusho or B Gata H Kei in Japanese...I'm sorry.

All 2-3 of them. Only 2 I can watch in English are Yu-gi-oh and Pokemon.

Any other anime has to be sub only because the dub voices just ruin the shows lol

Even the widely critically acclaimed Bebop dub that even the creator himself said was a better fit for the series than the Japanese dub?

I... kinda want to use your icons for the shows I do have backed up.

Avoid dubs.

Awful advice because there are a lot of good and decent dubs.

Try dubs. Avoid if they're subpar to the original.

Panty and Stocking w/ Garterbelt is a prime example of an anime that's ten times better in English.

Is it really better in English? I own the DVD box set and absolutely love the OSTs they've put out for the series, but haven't actually bothered to watch it on account of being lazy about popping the DVDs in or just pulling it up on the Funimation app.

I can't stand Sailor Moon in Japanese or English. Even though I love the show. Why did they have to make Usagi as screechy as possible :(

I've only watched the subs for this because that's what's available for free on Hulu/Viz (and only the first 5 episodes so far), but HOLY HELL is that girl screechy. I think I understand what they were going for (trying to emphasize her ditzy airhead status, as far as I can tell), but that doesn't make it any better an experience. After trying to find clips on YouTube that demonstrate this, I only managed to stumble upon clips from later in the series (the 182nd episode across all series in particular comes to mind) that show the screechiness being nearly completely removed from her voice in the Japanese dub. Someone in Japan must've realized how annoying it was or something like that along the way.

The English writing is divine, and everyone involved clearly had a blast during every second of it. It just ends up fitting flawlessly.

Harsh language, though I don't know why you'd expect otherwise:

Actually there's a show I loved in English: Ghost Stories (Gakkou no Kaidan).

Most of it is just hilarious. In a good and bad way.
