The pun is with you, macho.

...The scary thing is, I didn't even mean to make that pun. Though I do like the idea that my dry humor has bled into my average vernacular.

Oh, and on an unrelated note since apparently I'm keeping you guys up to date on Youkai Watch for some reason, the studio apparently took the high road with the dub OP:
Spoiler:

For reference, here's the Japanese theme:
Spoiler:

Though I feel the guy in the English opening is a pitch or two too high, I'm glad to see a kids show (on a kids network) that not only retain most of the original opening, but also recreate it in a way that tries to match the original. The female singer absolutely nails it (the guy less so, but considering the lyrics he still does a pretty good job of maintaining the singing style; couldn't have been easy) and considering how Japanese Youkai Watch is as a show, the amount of effort they're going through with this dub is admirable.

...Though, considering how one of the lyrics in the ending (which, according to the trailer, is in the show) is "yodel", I wonder how they'll handle that. In the original, they straight up said "yodel" (or "yoderu"), so 3 syllables. They could go the 2 syllable route, though; wouldn't be too much of a stretch.

Yeah, I'm actually pretty surprised they kept that and didn't change it to something like "Get up, Get up, Oh).

Also...

That video would've weirded me out if not for the fact that I saw this video today:

-snip-

I swear, when I saw the dude sing. The dude. Yes.
The song itself sounds fantastic, though.
When you posted that, it didn't click right away. It didn't click to me that that was Gintama Sakurane until I looked at the title ('cause I hadn't clicked the video) over a few times, thinking it was some other Sakura song. Then everything came together.

*Ahem*

FUCKING WAT

Like...no. It was hard enough for me to except that Gatchaman's first (and second, now) opening was sung by a guy, but this...this is two times that. Sakurane predated Gintama for me, I'd been listening to this song for years thanks to Osu, and...just...

...just...

...wat...

That's my exact reaction right there.

I came across the song a few days ago while listening to the Gintama OST I downloaded. The voice was so soothing and amazing and the song itself sounded fantastic. I look up good songs on youtube. And, to my surprise, it turned out the way it did. I was dumbstruck. XD;

I've forgotten that chemical fruit's existence long ago. I've simply been disinterested. Too many fights, lack of focus and whatnot. At least that's how it was when I left it.

His is an educational show where every time a trope shows up in the show, the main character looks at the screen and either explains it or gives a small description accompanied by a TVtropes link.

But others don't know about the fourth wall, so when they ask him who he's talking to he then has to explain that trope. While they're still asking.

And for extra help, you, Pokestick, can voice the MC.ged id because it would help it stick out ;q

Tropeception!

ahahahaha. ayup. That definitely would work. :v

Edit: On a side note. I finished Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria just now. And wow. That was draining. It was a roller-coaster ride of emotions. But I'm really glad I picked the series up. I don't usually pick light novels up. But I'm truly glad I did pick this up. I loved it.
