And loads of instances where I gotta press the pause button as soon and fast as possibru, heh.
I've seen 6 episodes of Bake. That's all. Then put it on hold. So I'm aware of the kind of series it is. :p

It seems there will be more than one movie in the Kizu adaptation. Not sure if like that.

キス ショット · アセロラ オリオン · ハート アンダー ブレード

That explains why she was renamed Shinobu after (spoilers), lol

Yeah, Monogatari really is a series that you should watch at 1x speed. The split second text and like is done that way intentionally. If anything, that stuff is more supplemental than essential, something that's better to catch while it's going than to stop to see. Makes for good rewatch material, though.

Another anime that benefits from stopping, though, is Joshiraku. Some random-ass blog said it best when they said, "If you're watching this [Joshiraku] with subs, you're full of ****". Oh, the Editor's Notes on that one.

Speaking of...anime, SAO's getting an original movie. Plus they just announced the fourth game. At this point, there's more non-Reki material out for SAO than there is Reki stuff.

A lot of the split second text boxes in Monogatari are excerpts from the novels, which, as they're (mostly) written from Araragi's perspective, you could say they're supplementary, more in-depth monologues. By no means necessary to read them. And a lot of the time it's just blinky-flashy SHAFT being SHAFT. Don't pause, definitely don't blink, and just go with it.
