Yeah, I just want them to have the same Pokemon they have (maybe evolve that lv. 17 Ratatta), but put them at like lv. 30. It makes a little more sense. Like there's a Cooltrainer after you save the radio tower that has like a lv. 27 Charmeleon, and that's it. Realistically, I don't think he could get that far with just a lv. 27 Charmeleon, even if the 7th gym is Ice. It should be like at least a 37 Charizard.

Yeah, well im in the middle of editing them now actually, I've set Clairs Pokémon to 58-62, although having second thoughts about the levels, maybe slightly too high?

Update for Ultimate Monotype Challenge (Dark).

Final Update (#3) on Silver.

  • Sped through the Kanto gym leaders easily, adding Solarbeam to Devil's moveset.
  • Climbed Mt. Silver and taught Kuro Toxic, and use my 5 Rare Candies to get them both to L65.
  • Found Red, and beat him with some confusion hax on Charizard.

Spoiler:

Ruby is the next game, but I will focus on finishing my Flying mono on White first.

The gyms are all fine, including the gym trainers. Its just the 'wild trainers' that I have a problem with, namely Mahogany Town Rocket Hideout and beyond.

Also I finished my mono.
Kanto was easy as always. I was worried about Blaine, but... he didn't use a fire move on me... I OHKOd everything with Rain Dance and Thunder (I think, forget who I used for this fight)
Blue gave me more trouble, but just his Arcanine. But, I just revive stalled him out of Flamethrowers.
Red gave me the same problems, but I did the same thing, and it wasn't too tough of a fight. I sploded on his last two Pokemon to win (Blastoise and Espeon)

And, team stats and stuff:
[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge Thread

Beta, the Lv. 70 Foretress @Quick Claw
229/169/238/135/135/94
Headbutt, Defense Curl, Rollout, Explosion

MVP by far. Soloed 70% of the game with Rollout
[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge Thread

Alpha, the Lv. 46 Magneton @Magnet
126/74/111/142/96/90
Thunder, Zap Cannon, Lock-on, Rain Dance

Um, I guess he was my MVP for Falkner through Bugsy. After that, I didn't use him much, as you can see by the level differences.

HM Slaves:
Hoot-hoot: Fly, Flash
Cyndiquil: Headbutt (to get Pineco), Cut
Krabby: Surf, Strength, Whirlpool
Goldeen: Waterfall, boxed for all the times I wasn't in Tohjo Falls or Mt. Mortar getting Defense Curl.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: Its almost April, so I need to go ahead and do the GG&B. But, I see no reason that I can't make it a monotype, as like almost every single green Pokemon is Grass type. So, I'm going to do Grass Sapphire.

Blissy's Normal Ultimate Monotype Challenge! - Yellow Version
Chapter 8 - Feel the Heat!

Sabrina...prepare for ownage! Magic OHKO'd Abra and Kadabra with Hyper Fang in a snap, but her Alakazam was the challenge. I got lucky, and paralysed it, then killed it with a critical Hyper Fang, so Sabrina gave me the Marshbadge. Now...I gotta heal, then head back to Pallet Town via Fly.

1 Fly later...

Ok...back to Pallet Town. Across the sea lies Cinnabar Island. Now...surfing action to Cinnabar Island! Ok...reached it in 5 minutes. Now...time to enter the Pokemon Mansion. On my run of this place in FireRed, I had a lot of trouble, but I hope it's different this time. The gym is locked, so the key must be here. This is gonna take a while...

A while later...

Ok...found the Secret Key, so now I'll use my Escape Rope to leave the mansion. Now...Cinnabar Gym wasn't that hard. Skipped every trainer until I reached Blaine, and owned him to get the Volcanobadge. Now...back to Viridian City.

Gasp! Giovanni's the final Gym Leader!? Fine. Looks like I get to own him one last time. Let's do this! Wow...Giovanni is just tough. Magic was the only surviver in the end, so I won the Earthbadge. Now...I can take on the Pokemon League! On my way, though...I encountered Zero for the 2nd to last time. He's really gotten tough, but he lost. Now...time for the Pokemon League.

This concludes this chapter of my Normal Ultimate Monotype Challenge.

After a long break from this, i finished the fourth leg of my poison UMC..

Final Sinnoh Update

I caught a Tentacruel so it wouldn't be as troublesome to beat Flint. I entered the building, fought my rival, and i began my challenge..

Aaron got annoying. His Drapion was the main problem. If it's not a bug type, he shouldn't have it..

Bertha was so much easier than i expected. Spore easily took her whole team out.

Flint wasn't to hard. I only used Tento for 2 of his pokemon.

Lucian was kinda hard. She wasn't to hard, but i still had trouble.

Cynthia.. This one was excruciating. I was constantly healing. I thought i used a lot, but i only used 16 revives and 41 hypers.

My Final Team

Zulu/Crobat
[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge Thread
Level 54

-Air Slash
-Confuse Ray
-Fly
-Poison Fang

Zulu was the MVP of Sinnoh. He took everything our easily and was helpful throughout my whole adventure. Almost always my first poke.. Sadly, not available in 5th generation right away.. That will be the only time i won't use him.

Spore/Roserade
[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge Thread
Level 54

-Toxic
-Petal Dance
-Toxic Spikes
-Magical Leaf

Spore had to be the most useful for the E4 and champion. Easily took out Berthas whole team. Not really any diversity in her moves, but that didn't really matter. Great addition to my team

Smokey/Gengar
[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge Thread
Level 50

-Shadow Ball
-Curse
-Dark Pulse
-Confuse Ray

Smokey helped me out a lot in the with the E4 and champ. I had him use curse on all the things that i couldnt kill, but he never survived any of the battles since they always finished him.. It probably would've been helpful if i knew i could get him in eterna forest though.

Gunko/Toxicroak
[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge Thread
Level 51

-Nasty Plot
-Faint Attack
-Brick Break
-Sludge Bomb

Gunko was one of the guys in between. He was useful at some points, and at others he couldn't do anything. He helped with the Champ, but everyone helped on that.. except Tento.

Scorp/Drapion
[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge Thread
Level 51

-Crunch
-Bug Bite
-Poison Fang
-Toxic Spikes

Scorp.. wasn't very useful at all. He did help a bit with the E4 and champ, but thats about it. I was excited to use him, but i ended up being disappointed. Sad to say, but LVP of sinnoh.

Tento/Tentacruel
[PokeCommunity.com] Ultimate Monotype Challenge Thread
Level 49

-Barrier
-Surf
-Poison Jab
-Hydro Pump

Tento probably would've been useful if i hadn't gotten him so late. He helped out a little bit with the E4, but he was to low of a level to do anything. LVP of the E4/champ part.

Well, that's it for poison until i buy white, cause im not starting over on black for this. Besides, i need another Gen. 5 game so i can trade stuff over to evolve and stuff. I'm going to start my 4th leg for steel now. Im probably just going to edit this post.

Quick Question,
If i have a metal coat in a different game, can i trade over my onix or scyther and have them come back with the metal coat so they'll evolve? or do i have to wait until i find one in the game?

in the first post:
  • No trading Pokémon from other games, unless you are doing so for an evolution that requires it.
so yes, you can. trade evolving is fine, as long as you trade it back.

-Went East, and cleaned house on the remaining trainers.
