I think I have like 600 facebook friends, which would explain why I dislike the thing.

try 800 facebook "friends", most of which you'll never meet again ._. your feed becomes... full of idek stuff

I now feel very comparatively popular itt lolol

I have about 1.5k fb friends, and I know all of them from high school, uni, work, etc. I have a lot of contacts and I'm pretty good at personal networking I guess lol. Of course I don't talk to heaps of them that often but it's good to see what people are up to, where they're going in life, etc

Post high school I did purge a couple hundred who I thought I would never see again - so it's been awkward on the cases where I have seen them again and interacted with them haha.

I never became popular on Facebook. Ended up leaving the site behind in 2012 never to be touched again, but I mostly blame it on the fact I had a ton of studying to do back then.

Wah. I wish I was good at networking too, haha. But I think I prefer lower number of closer friends rather than a high number of shallow contacts c: we're all different.

Same. My personal networking skills are close to zero. I have about 100, know them all, but don't keep contact with half.

I actually 'know' all my facebook friends, talking to them is a different story however.
I'm a autistic person who spends most of the day sleeping and online. What do you expect? Easier to talk to people I don't know in person then vice versa.

I wasn't having a dig mate, was just talking about my own life.

I think it's probably easier for a lot of people to talk online than it is offline; you have more time to think about what you're going to say, for one thing.

This is like me as well, and I also have autism. It's because of my social reclusiveness (I usually don't like going out in public much) that I enjoy online more than offline. Autism does kinda hurt my life a bit but I do try to still function like someone without the condition would.

That's what I always wondered, how do you even know what's going on with people when there's just so much in your feed to sift through?!

That's how I feel my co-workers are. They may have a large amount of FB friends, but they probably genuinely know most, if not all of them in some capacity. Our industry is very network-centric and they're all very outgoing, so I could see it.

I dunno though, I don't like having EVERYONE I've ever met on FB. Especially work people. There are some things I'd rather not have the people I work with know, but my past 2 offices have been like open books to each other and I'm just like ???? Why do you want your boss to know how many people you've slept with/how many drugs you were doing at the club last night/etc. I like my boundaries.

That's different from my Facebook. All of my friends there are people that I met through work, and some I still work with. Though I think what is different about mine is that my friends are mostly an older crowd, so the most shocking thing posted to their Facebook is what adorable thing their grandchildren said.

It is much easier for me to talk online than offline. Online, I can take the time to formulate my thoughts and put words together properly. Offline, I'm essentially "how do i word?"

yEAH I ACTUALLY OPTED AGAINST ADDING MY CO-WORKERS ON FACEBOOK FOR THAT REASON.

Wow, sorry, I hit the caps lock and I don't feel like typing that up again so.
