If you're referring to the name changes, nothing was ever promised. We just really thought that it would work out, and then it didn't.
My alt was done on a whim and I kinda wanna give it back to Sydian because he came up with Seed Bby. I was an idiot but I can be nice.
Well, if username change is unavailable, why not clear the user list of tons of inactive ghost (0 posts, last logged in >week after registration, X years/months old) accounts so at least active users could get alts they always wanted to have as their main username? There are a tons of accounts that were abandoned on the same day they were made.
And the argument: "Oh, but they can return, blablabla." is bad, IMHO.
If they didn't change their email a few times, they forgot PC exist or they're using another username already.
I think the failure of the name changes is a sign that we either need to upgrade to forum software or get a new server o__o
I mean, honestly, how can name changes even be an option if they are just gonna get every server derped like it's high on electricity.
On topic, I don't think my username is politically correct anymore o__o. I'd either get it changed to Godot17 or think of something creative to permanently apply it as my internet identity.
What's the point of opening up names if you can't change to them anyway? @_@;
I think the point is that unlike staff, members can change accounts with little to no repercussions (except for the potential loss of donation money). So if the names were opened people would use them as alts and eventually as new main accounts I assume.
The problem with this is that for some people like me, the repercussions would be great, i have a trade thread, an awsome profile, lots of friends, donation money and a bunch of other stuff. If i just went ahead and made a new profile everything i worked hard to get would be gone, so making a new profile is out for me /:

You could just...put in your signature that you used to be jerichob10. Trade threads can be the exact same with a different owner (as in, take the thread you have now, make a new account the OP). Also, the donation money I didn't consider much of a hurdle because very often, although they say it's not allowed, PPN will transfer donation money from account to account haha. And...are they really your friends if they'd abandon you once you told them you changed names...?
The only reason why changing a name is pretty much impossible as a staff member is that h-staff won't allow name skipping if you want to keep your position. It's easy to switch names as long as you're not staff. The only thing you can be guaranteed to lose is your old post count.
IIRC, it cannot be transferred. I think you'd have to donate under the new name.
It depends on how much you donated too. You're more likely to get a T6 transferred than a T1.Oh? I thought the FAQ said they couldn't be and that was final. Seems I'm wrong then.
