Do you use the appropriate utensils when eating food? Or do you go beyond the normal standpoint and use what you are comfortable with? Are there any utensils you use for certain foods?

For me, I've always preferred a spoon for mac and cheese. Same with rice. I find it's easier to get it out because it always slides off my fork. :c I think I use a spoon more than I have ever used a fork as well lol.

I use a fork for pretty much everything I eat. I only use a spoon for cereal, soup, ice cream and yogurt. I just prefer forks over spoons. Some soup type things I do use a fork for also like soups with big pieces, an example would be those Dinty Moore Beef Stews and the thicker style Chunky soups.

I use a fork for most things, I only use a spoon for cereal and ice cream :3 I'm told I hold my knives wrong though, but holding them the right way is painful for me lol.

    spoons > all
I've used spoons for eating stuff that's normally reserved for forks like noodles, chicken, cooked vegetables, and some other things and it's so convenient, especially for tiny noodles that are hard to pick up with a fork. I'm a visionary.

After living in Indonesia for awhile as well as working in an Indian restaurant back in England, I've grown accustomed to eating rice with my fingers. There's something oddly satisfying about it.

The only thing I'll ever use a spoon for is ice cream, soup, and cereal. That's it. The rest, I'll take a fork for. That includes things like rice.

I use a spoon for eating pancakes after I have cut them up. Much easier, plus you aren't poking holes in the pancake.

I got in the habit of using chopsticks for lots of things and now I use them for things like pasta and salad because it's easier to clean them after.

I can't remember the last time I used a knife while eating. Only for preparing food. The side of a fork is usually good enough.

I've been known to shock and horrify people by eating ice cream with a fork. I love soft serve and find it easier to mix and smooth the ice cream with a fork :>

I also ran out of forks the other day so I used chop sticks to eat salad. Could have gone better, but still got the job done.

Now when you say you ran out of forks do you mean they were dirty or do you only use disposable forks?

I could never do this myself. I hate eating food with my hands. For something like a sandwich or slice of pizza yes I will use my hands. And for chips I have a paper towel on hand to clean my fingers after every one I eat. But anything else that is normally eaten with hands I cannot. I seriously hate getting my hands greasy and dirty. For some reason I'm the type that has to stay clean during a meal and will wipe my mouth several times even when it isn't really dirty. People have always looked at me weird and commented on me eating only with utensils. The biggest one would be when it is chicken wings. I used to get really nervous when around people when chicken wings were the meal because I always knew that someone was going to ask me why or comment on how strange it was that I was eating them with a fork pulling the meat off of it.

The one thing I can't do is eat meat off of a bone, I can eat it if I have a knife and fork to cut it off but I can't eat any meat on a bone with my hands.
My whole life I used a fork to eat rice and then I met a girl from Thailand and I spent a lot of time at her house and she would cook for me and now I use a fork and a spoon whenever I have rice dishes, the fork to push the rice and other ingredients onto the spoon, and now it doesn't feel right to use a fork to eat rice.
I use chopsticks when I'm eating Japanese/Korean/Chinese food and they're available to me but considering I don't own any chopsticks I'd normally just use a knife/fork/spoon for those cuisines too. I use a fork and spoon for pasta as well.
