Issue: VM Notification bug

    Over the last day I've noticed this bug; basically false messages are appearing when someone VMs me.

    The bottom one is one I certainly got, but the top VM message appeared repeatedly for me, and I never got such a message. And there's a noticeable gap in time as well there, which is odd (I had not been online during then). Maybe it's a (weird) placeholder message in coding?
     
    It actually also looks like this is something he may have posted. It says "people" there. That doesn't seem like something he would VM you by any means.
     
    It's definitely a bug. I got this before when someone was VMing me after a negative experience. At the time, I thought they were being sarcastic, but then edited their VM because it was completely different when I saw it on my profile. But I saw that "oh yay" thing before their actual VM showed up as a notification, unlike Marcin here who gets the VM and that "oh yay" thing. I just got another as well, but from Fairy. So yeah. Definitely not something that user (or Fairy in my case) posted on their own.
     
    Are you two using the same theme? I've never gotten that problem. Would there be a possibility that it has something to do with the theme?
     
    Doubt us (three) now are using the same theme - Aquacorde's for starters is certainly different, but certainly it could be an issue with some of them.

    For sake of record, The Johto Elite is what I am using atm.
     
    I don't think it's got anything to do with themes; whenever someone posts a message on your profile and edits, it re-notifies you with that "yay" thing. xD; It's sort of like quote notification problem we've got going on right now. Not such a huge problem, in my opinion, but definitely needs to be fixed since it winds up confusing people and whatnot.
     
    If that is the case, I suppose an easy way to fix it is to change the message to something like '___ edited their VM message, go check it!', if you still want that to be displayed.

    I use The Johto Elite as well, but I'll say that not only do I not get false notifications, but on this, Seeds of Platinum, The Y-Axis, and Color Flattered Y sometimes it fails to give me a notification saying I got a VM or PM or whatever. An example of this would be when Jake gave me those three emblems for IRC and not only did I not get an emblem notification for any of them but the PMs from him were also silent. I stumbled upon them a day or two later. :s
