This was a short-lived item that hasn't been seen since the days of D/P/PT. It was introduced in FR/LG and allowed players to rebattle any trainer that had a ! above their head when using it. It required you to walk 100 steps in game after using it. However, since HG/SS, this item has not seen a return of any kind, as with trainer rematches, for the most part.

Did you use the Vs. Seeker? If so, what did you think of it? Would you like to see it make a return?

I didn't give attention to it in my first days playing Platinum, but once I started using it, it proved very useful for grinding levels and/or money.

I loved it, I remember in FR I constantly went around looking for the tactically perfect spot to use it so you could rematch as many trainers as possible, since it only worked on those "in the frame".
The motorbike gang right at the beginning of the Cycling Road was a great spot.

I really don't know why they didn't bring it back... if it was that there was not enough space in the cartridge for rematch data for every single trainer(since they usually levelled up a bit), they could have made just some trainers level up.

I really depended on it for the last few days with the Get Together challenge in Platinum, the fact trainers give more XP than wild pokemon + the fact you can rebattle trainers who use pokemon that just gift XP like its christmas helps a lot when you need to retrain your entire team.

Then Gen V came along who gifted us Audinos like there was no tomorrow and I farmed Audinos for XP after that.

one of the best tools if you're grinding! grinding is a task with the newer games :(

VS seeker was an awesome addition to the game. Besides getting money and exp, you also got to see the trainer's team develop and I thought that was really cool. What exactly was the problem with it is beyond me. I hope it returns some day :(
