"Di merda! Fottuto figlio di una cagna!" (You sh*t! You f*cking son of a b*tch!) Althalos cursed and spat at the pokemons feet, hoping he couldn't understand Italian. "If you think that my working for isn't treason, than you need to get your head out of the clouds." Althalos ran up to the bars, stuck his arm through and managed to barely grab a tuft of fur and tried his best to pull the pokemon back with the little grip he had. "Why on Earth would I trust you?" Althalos yelled at him. "For all I know, if I did do as you asked, you would use what you know to kill every human possible. You have no mercy, I'm surprised you didn't kill me on the spot, glad, but surprised." Althalos let go of the tuft of fur and let his arms swing on the bars. "Yes, I would like as few deaths on both sides as possible. I was always taught to care about pokemon, and I still try to. But I am finding it harder and harder. You, I can't trust, not only is it against my minimal training, but it is against all my human instincts." Althalos looked the arcanine in the eye with as cold a stare he could muster through his current anger. "Per la repubblica umano!" (for the human republic) Althalos spat at the pokemon again, this time hitting his face. "And my question was relevant, if you actually took time to think. Would you rather die fighting, or live doing nothing at all?"

Hector heard him speak a language unknown to him. A dead language, perhaps, or one of his own culture. But the way he said it made him think he wasn't accepting his offer.

"Why on Earth would I trust you?" Althalos yelled at him. "For all I know, if I did do as you asked, you would use what you know to kill every human possible. You have no mercy, I'm surprised you didn't kill me on the spot, glad, but surprised. Yes, I would like as few deaths on both sides as possible. I was always taught to care about pokemon, and I still try to. But I am finding it harder and harder. You, I can't trust, not only is it against my minimal training, but it is against all my human instincts."

Hector shook his head, wiping his face off the human saliva as the human spoke again in the language.

"It's a pity, human. I kinda liked you. But your judgment is sound. I expected you to be stupid, but you clearly aren't. You know what you're doing, and aren't easy to trust. Less can be said about others, even my own men. I admire your courage. So, I'll give you something I usually don't give other people. A second chance. I implore you to reconsider my offer. If you don't, I will be forced to do something I really am not in the mood to. If you will not assist, you will assist by example. I will arrange for your public execution. You'll get to see how savage we REALLY are. Live or die, make your choice."

Hector looked at him again, awaiting an answer. He added one more thing.

"And about your question. I would rather die with steel through my chest and bullets in my heart any day than to live without have done anything. Too bad for you, if you choose not to help, you'll be die doing nothing, so you get a bit of the worst of both worlds."

Hector's patience was being tested, but he remained stern, and kept his straight face. Another Pokemon was still present, and as long as he was, Hector would do show the determined face of a Commander.

"Hey, I spat on your face, that counts for something, doesn't it? At least, if you do decide to kill me, I will die laughing at you. I will die, if not honorably, than at least with a smile." Althalos laughed at the pokemon. "And then, since I am very important to the HR, they will probably have people on their way now, and when they see me die, then they will kill you too." Althalos sighed. "At least you gave the right answer," he said. "but personally, I would rather live, to fight another day. I would rather live on my feet than die on my knees, as opposed to you. It seems that when it all comes down to it, you're just as weak on the inside as you are strong on the out side. You would live on your knees, just so that when you do finally die, you can make it seem like something honorable." Althalos laughed at the pokemon again. "And thanks for saying I'm not dumb, but even still, I fart in your general direction. I must refuse your offer." Althalos laid down on the cot, but kept wary. He rolled over so that the he wasn't facing the pokemon, and he tensed his forearm. The blade silently extended and he hid it in front of his chest, and waited.

Hector neither smiled nor frowned. He just listened. He wasn't someone to get caught up in the petty backs-and-forths of insults. He knew what he was, and knew what the human was now as well. But there was one thing he had to clear up.

"Your options were, with the last question, to live and do nothing, or die fighting for something. I would die, fighting for what I believe in, then do nothing about it at all. That is why I am the Commander, and as Commander, I have different obligations than you, a soldier. A good soldier you may be, but still a soldier. I know what I must do, and you apparently know what you must do. I pray your 'friends' will come for you, though. Much more entertainment to see a few humans taken down by hundreds of Pokemon..."

Hector proceeded to the door.

"...I take my leave from you, child. Good luck in the afterlife."

Hector made his way out with Wade. Once outside, he looked at the Pokemon outside.

"Feel free to do what you want with him. But don't come in his cell. I don't want any unnecessary injuries. And make the preparations for a public execution. This human will be made an example of."

Hector walked away, towards his office. The public murder of a human, especially like this, leaves a bad taste in his mouth, but he knew his duties as Commander. He'd do it again and again, if that's what keeps his soldiers happy, and the morale up.

The Zorua, now in Eevee form, seemed to accept Ali's half-apology. Her reply was abrupt, but justly so, after Ali's harsh words mere moments before. Ali felt like a small child after the Pokemon had shook him down, but now was not the time to assert any sort of authority. She was right; they needed to work together.

Ali picked up his gun and knife from the floor, replacing them in their respective holsters. "I'm not planning on using these, but I don't really fancy leaving them here." He explained, in case the Zorua thought he was planning an attack.
As Ali spoke his radio had crackled beneath his hoodie, but the announcement, whatever it was, was ignored. Ali feared that it may ruin any chances of collaborating with the pokemon and rescuing Althalos.

"Look -sorry, I don't know your name- I'll make a deal with you." Ali said, looking directly in the Eevee's eyes. "If either of us make any sign of betrayal, the other has the right to attack as they see fit. You agree?"

"The name is Ali, by the way."

The boy had picked up his weapons and was following her, talking at the same time.

"Look -sorry, I don't know your name- I'll make a deal with you." the boy said, now caught up with the pokemon and looking into her eyes, "If either of us make any sign of betrayal, the other has the right to attack as they see fit. You agree?"

The Eevee snickered. "Of course. You still have to remember we're enemies, after all."

"The name is Ali, by the way."

For a second, Lydia thought if it was safe to reveal her name or not. Guessing it would be fine, she replied, "I'm Lydia, then. Though I can't say I'm happy to make your acquaintance."

By now, the two were directly at the building, only a few inches away from the actual base. The pokemon hesitated actually going inside.

"Follow my lead; don't walk away from me. Once we get downstairs, I'll have to cancel the illusion. The other pokemon won't see you as long as your near me," Lydia explained. Her eyes flashing, she set up an illusion of transparency and walked through the door, even there entrance un-noticeable. She knew she had to get to the basement. Hopefully Hector wasn't there, or anyone else. If she was caught, who knows what could happened? The two passed by many other PR members, including a Swampert whom looked to be in discomfort. Lydia was also in discomfort, as she struggled to keep her powers intact. There was a staircase leading to the basement, and she motioned 'Ali' down with her.

Cracking a bit early, her illusion broke. She prayed the Swampert didn't see anything, and it appeared that he hadn't noticed anything. The Zorua was obviously tired. Struggling to keep her Eevee transformation up, pieces seemed to be cracking of like glass from her golden fur. Under it appeared to be black. The color seemed to be draining from her eyes. Suddenly though, a burst of energy snapped her color and focus back into action. Her illusion restored itself, and the cracks seeped away as so did her ruby eyes. She wondered what happened, but tried to keep her mind on the mission.

Rumble

Lydia seemed to have completly forgotten about Rumble. That's a good thing, he thought, as he was entering the PR base, always invisible thanks to his camouflage cloak. He was aware that it was not true invisibility - and he promised to himself to achieve that one day - and that the Pokemon around him could see him if they looked really closely, but he didn't mind. His target was the Eevee who was hiding the human next to her with her illusions. But she didn't seem to have any more power left and her Eevee illusion was starting to break. Rumble had to think of something now, or he wouldn't have enough hard evidence for Lydia's betrayal.
I have to help her.. but what to do?
He was starting to see the shape of the human - that was bad, it could get the attention of Pokemon any minute.

Rumble decided the safest way - psychic power. He raised his invisible hand, just behind the Zorua, and infused the Pokemon with a burst of psychic energy, as they were headed to the stairs leading down in the cells.
According to my theory... this should help her maintain the illusion for a little longer.. If not, we'll just have to go with plan B.
It was times like these, where Rumble thought of how dangerous his plan B's are.

Wade watched as the commander and the prisoner talked back and forth. He snarled at Althalos when he insulted Hector. Althalos, in his previous encounters, didn't look too bad, but Wade knew he wanted to survive, and people do anything in order to survive. Then when Wade looked at Hector once again, the arcanine turned and headed towards the exit.

"Feel free to do what you want with him. But don't come in his cell. I don't want any unnecessary injuries. And make the preparations for a public execution. This human will be made an example of." Hector spoke coldly and left the cells, leaving Wade and Althalos alone. The atmosphere was dense, not to mention the humidity was rather annoying down here. Wade didn't dare enter the cell, in case he had something hiding, waiting to strike. When he turned his body, Wade frowned in suspicion, and his guards were up.

"If you expect me to bust you out, think again." Wade spoke, trying to be as scary and emotionless as possible, "I'm not Lydia, or other...friendly Pokemon. You know me, Althalos. We're both spies."

Wade looked around to see if anybody was spying on them, then looked at the Human spy once again, "I won't let you out. Once you're out there you'll shoot us with tranquilizer darts and cause trouble. If you escape under my watch, the commander's going to kill me, so don't blame me if I don't have any mercy."

Wade placed his front paws together and launched a shadow ball at Althalos' legs, injuring them with a little explosion as the ball collided with his body. "just to make sure you're not running." Wade smirked, "Don't worry. Your execution will end all your worries."

The shadow ball hit the back of Althalos' legs and he rolled over , howling in pain. "What the h*ll was that for?" Althalos grabbed his leg. It was bleeding a little and the impact had made the entirety of his legs hurt. After he calmed down, he sat up, showing Wade the blade around his wrist. "I was only planning on using this if I get attacked, and I still do." Althalos sheathed it. "I could care less if you came in here, I know it wouldn't do me any good to hurt you, or hold you hostage. And I'm not stupid enough to think that you would let me out." Althalos started rubbing his legs, knowing that he wouldn't be walking for a while. "Besides, I don't have any weapons, tranquilizers, or any ranged weapons, and I have no access to any. The only trouble I could cause is just leaving and have a search ensue." Althalos glared at the pokemon. "I hit you with a tranquilizer for two reasons, one, you didn't jump to my roof, and I was legitimately offering help, and two, because those idiots who were gonna grab you probably would have broken your bones and then knocked you out. I spared you the pain of several broken ribs and no longer being able to walk." Althalos punched the cot. "And actually, I don't know you. I am perfectly good friends with Lydia, your girlfriend, and don't deny it, I saw you two kissing from my vantage point and with my scope. She has more or less told me about her family, and I have told her about mine; she's actually a very kind pokemon. I know your merciless, I saw that from the roof, too. I explained to Lydia how I felt about you. I'm sure you're a perfectly good pokemon too, but you have buried that so deep under the deaths and- and the murders, that you don't care anymore. You are no older than I am, and you kill with out hesitation, you don't care, you don't remember. Nobody, nobody," Althalos emphasized with his hands, "should ever be able to kill and not care. And I don't like you for that. Other wise, I'm sure that, other than the fact that we are part of opposing factions, we could get along just fine if you weren't so emotionless."

Wade shook his head. He didn't understand. He didn't understand at all. Nobody knew about his past, his horrible childhood life with his old trainers. It was a total nightmare. Now he wanted revenge, and he had succeeded many times.

"Cut the crap." Wade stared at Althalos with large furious eyes, his petrifying gaze strong enough to make people shiver, "First of all, I don't care if you know that she's my girlfriend. We actually care about each other. Humans care about themselves. Money. Power. Everything. They won't stop until they get what they wanted. Why are you here anyway? For what? The battlefield is a dangerous place, and isn't suitable for kids like you. We're about the same age, but you're not mature at all. Children shouldn't play with fire."

Wade walked around the corridor before the cell, then sat down, looking at him, "In the eyes of humans, we're pets. Toys. I had a total of three trainers, one of them...was...J-" he stopped. He didn't want to tell anyone about this, "None of them treated me well. What's wrong with a shiny umbreon? I wasn't like this. I wasn't like this at all. But they treated me like a toy. A servant. They never cared about my feelings. That's why I wanted to teach them a lesson. The first and the third trainer's dead now, and the second one's the next on my list.

"You have to know that I'm emotionless because of you." Wade growled, emphasizing on the 'you', "You and your kind. Humans make me SICK. I am here in order to prove to the humans that we won't just sit here, listening to their orders. I will prove to them that they gotta think twice before messing with US. You are no different, Althalos. Everyone has the word 'greed' written all over them. Certainly you have a reason to be here. And you know what? You're lucky to be alive."

Alex drove away from the carnage, feeling satisfied. Alex felt a sudden rush of Adrenaline that came with killing the defense-less Pokemon. Alex steadily drove through the streets, checking on his cargo occasionally. Alex drove by the old HR base, which was now teeming with Pokemon. Alex felt the urge to break in there and begin shooting, but he thought of his cargo and decided against it. Within a short time, Alex plunked onto Route 207 heading towards Oreburgh City. Alex drove up a steep incline as he heard his cargo slide to the back. Alex opted to take the road over Oreburgh gate. Once Alex drove over the gate, he was greeted by two guards.
" What is in the back," one soldier asked.
" Commander Jack Spark," was Alex's witty reply.
" We are searching the back," the other guard barked.
" Go right ahead," Alex replied. The Soldiers opened the back door, climbed in, looked around and jumped out.
" Go ahead," the Soldier retorted. Alex proceeded to drive down into Oreburgh City.

Mark was Sneaking through the halls. He had to hide several times from the pokemon wondering the base. Mark came across a dying soldier, he was heavily armored, very heavily armored. mark stopped next to him. "How the hell did they take you out?" mark asked the soldier "hah ,They got behind me, Be sure to watch you back, and take this, it's an Active Camo, it'll be more useful for a civi than me." "I'm a sniper, my armor got torn." "Oh, well good luck then trooper." "I'll get you out, cmon" MArk picked up the soldier and brought him to the back door where he limped towards Oreburgh. Mark got back to where the soldier was and picked up the active camo. Sneaking would be easier now. Now if only he knew where wade was. "Hmmmmmmm..........." Mine as well start at the bottom and work his way up. Mark turned on the Active camo. There was a sound to signify its activation as his body began to reflect light. Other than a few squiggly lines he was completely invisible. He snuck down the stairs to the basement. A swampert was on gaurd, mark knocked it out with a pistol whip. And opened the door. Althalos was in a cell."Althalos?" Mark covered his mouth 'Sh*t mark, you need to be quiet, remember you in an ENEMY base' he thought to himself as his camo deactivated. "Damn, F**King overheating."

"You, sir, are an a*s-hole. Did you ever really stop to think that not all humans are like that? I, for am not. I'm 14 years old, I have no need for power, I don't want power, and I can't handle having power, and money is useless now. Everyone , civilians and soldiers alike, are on rations." Althalos glared right back at the pokemon. "An what do you mean, me? I have saved you twice, if you don't include the tranquilizer, which I understand. I saved you from the fire back at our HQ, I gave you that rawst berry, and then I tried to get you out of our HQ without killing you, and I managed to, and still got in trouble. You are the most ungrateful son of a b*tch I have ever met. I could care less that you're not letting me out, but then to act like every human on the planet is the same? If any one here is immature, it's you." Althalos tried to stand up, but his legs wobbled and he collapsed back onto the cot. "Not only am I lucky to be alive, I am glad to be alive. I regret what I have done since I have joined the HR, and I would take it back if I could, but I can't. I have to live with it, and I hate it. I will die with an extremely screwed up conscience." And with that Althalos laid on the cot. He would listen if Wade spoke again, but he wouldn't answer back. Althalos closed his eyes and just as he did so, he heard his name called. Mark shimmered into existence and Althalos still just lay there. "'Sup?" he asked. "Be careful, Wade's right there."

Walking through the corridor, she stopped as a man ran right past her. Her ears perking up, she let out a growl and ran straight forward, following and somewhat chasing the man as he stopped at the cells. Her illusion was still strong and both her and Ali remained transparent. Lydia felt the greatest need to attack the man in front of her, but knew that Wade was probably already prepared to do so. Using a bit of her power for telepathy, she yelled at Ali from inside his head. "Is this ANOTHER friend of yours? I really hope your not trying to raid us!"

Viewing past the man in front of her, she looked to see Althalos. Cutting her mind power from Ali, she focused on the prisoner in the cell. "Althalos, its me. We're here to help. Don't say anything. I have Ali here with me, he'll get you out."

The Eevee also communicated with the young general. "Get him out of the cells. I'll set up an illusion to make him appear as if he's still there. Hurry."

Her borrowed psychic energy was somewhat draining, but her strength held up as she watched Wade and the other human. Lydia felt rotten for betraying him, and was beginning to have second thoughts about helping. Althalos and Wade were her best friends, though Althalos was still the enemy. She made up her mind quickly as a Nasty Plot activated to keep her dark aura and mind intact.

Rumble manipulated the air around him, and his levitation rose even more. Invisible as always, he got passed Lydia from above, and 'sprinted' to the basement where the cells supposedly were. He opened the door using Psychic, and levitated silently towards a shiny Umbreon who was talking with a human who was in the cell. He listened to their conversation, and recorded all of it in the tape which was close to his flashlight in his right arm.
Interesting.. but yet boring, they'll keep mumbling forever... Huh? What's that on the wall...?
Rumble had detected some kind of movement in the wall of the cell. Then, another human appeared in the shadows. The psychic type Pokemon could barely see him... He decided to listen to their conversation instead.

"Damn, F**King overheating."

The Reuniclus was standing in the wall, in the shadows, trying to hear what they were saying, and observing at the humans he so much wanted to kill with fire. He noticed the human was wearing an armor - just like his "camouflage cloak". After 3 seconds he realized they were wearing the same camouflage device.
Of course, I stole mine from the Oreburgh Laboratory.. it's extremely advanced technology. But.. if his is overheating, what's up with min- D*MN!

Rumble looked at his own body and he realised his camouflage was off, due to overheating. He didn't feel any heat at all, because the liquid of his body had protect him.
He took the damaged device of his body and left it on the floor. The darkness would be his only bet now. He raised his eyes and saw the Eevee who was hiding the human who was probably hiding next to her. Rumble had an idea, maybe she was talking to him through telepathy. He manipulated Psychic energy and invaded the Human's brain.

"Is this ANOTHER friend of yours? I really hope your not trying to raid us!"

He heard Zorua yelling at the human's mind. The human wouldn't notice this, but Lydia could..
So.. Lydia has her doubts about the human... Maybe she's not bad after all.

It was surreal, calmly walking through the enemy base without being noticed. Well, 'calmly' was a bit of a push; Ali's heart was practically in his throat. If he was betrayed by Lydia, it was all over.

They arrived at the cells without any hassle, but Ali kept his hand gripped on his blade hilt all the same. Althalos lay on the floor, holding his legs. He appeared to be in pain, but was very much holding his own. He was speaking with the pokemon who was guarding his cell, and each were putting up a good argument. Ali recognised the voice of the Pokemon, but couldn't quite place it until he and Lydia turned a corner and saw a shiny Umbreon, pacing in front of the bars that separated man from Pokemon. Ali'd assumed that Wade was captured by Mark in the woods, and so it came as a shock when his unique fur came across his line of vision.
What was more, the squiggly lines of an Active Camo was visible in the shadows near Althalos' cell; Human technology which was well known to have quite a few bugs. Sure enough, the thing malfunctioned and the figure of Mark Vargas flickered into being. Fury bubbled in Ali. If he blows this as well...

Suddenly, Lydia's voice sounded in his head, making him jump slightly. Telepathy was something he had never gotten used to.
"Get him out of the cells. I'll set up an illusion to make him appear as if he's still there. Hurry."

Ali nodded, sneaking beside Wade and picking the lock with his blade. He walked inside and whispered in Althalos' ear.
"Don't look surprised. It's Ali, me and your friend are here to get you out. Can you walk?"

Without waiting for an answer, Ali looked at Lydia, who nodded. She was concentrating hard, and it was paying off; so far, no one had noticed the enemy general striding into a prisoner's cell guarded by a pack of Pokemon soldiers and rescuing a doomed sniper. Ali picked Althalos up off the floor and heaved him onto his shoulder. The two staggered out of the cell and towards the door.

By now, the small pokemon's energy was about to give way. Flashing with neon red light for a split second, a moving illusion appeared of Althalos. It appeared that Ali had already gotten the real boy out of the cell. Rushing towards the door with the humans, they successfully made it to the exit. Several pokemon seemed to be surrounding the cells as they got out. Looking to the side, she saw the crowd all around an injured Swampert; most likely dead. Lydia's eyes widened, and she screamed at Ali through telepathy. "You killed a pokemon when I wasn't looking? This was a rescue mission! I didn't give you permission to kill anyone! You said we could attack if we saw betrayal, well, a dead Swampert is evidence enough for such an act..."

It was all her fault- she had put the poor pokemon in danger. The Eevee was angry, un-willing to let the death slide by. This human was a murderer like all the rest. He would pay, but for now, she would keep her promise to help the boy.

"Hurry outside already!"

Running past crowds of pokemon, she guided the two boys outside. Lydia had a second thought about breaking the illusion, but decided not to, since Althalos would have been hurt all the same as Ali. Back in the cells, she cut ties to the human-Althalos illusion due to lack of power. She was getting tired as the borrowed energy was being sucked out from her body.

"Don't look surprised. It's Ali, me and your friend are here to get you out. Can you walk?" a voice whispered. He recognized it as Ali. He kept his straight face. "No, my legs hurt too much." The invisible man picked him up and carried him out. As they made their way way out side, he noticed that he was invisible, and that behind them, there was an animation of sorts of himself sitting in the cell.
Althalos noticed that both the illusion of his and Ali's invisibility was flickering, and he saw Lydia, running just ahead of them, and her invisibility was flickering and shattering as well. "Put me down. I'll need some support, but I can kind of keep myself up." Althalos grunted as the older boy set him on the ground. Althalos slung an arm around his shoulder and tried walking, barely managing to move his legs. "You don't look so hot, Lydia, you ok?" Althalos asked when he saw her slowing down considerably. "I can carry you in my free arm if you need me to." he offered, with a pained smile as he stumbled along next to Ali. "Do we have a ride out of here?" Althalos asked, this time to Ali.

Ali was confused. One moment, the Pokemon were watching Althalos' doppleganger in the cell, and the next they were surrounding an injured comrade by the door. Lydia's voice rattled loudly inside his head, and surprised him to the point where he almost yelled out.
"You killed a pokemon when I wasn't looking? This was a rescue mission! I didn't give you permission to kill anyone! You said we could attack if we saw betrayal, well, a dead Swampert is evidence enough for such an act..."

What? Ali was astounded, fixated to the spot as he tried to figure out the logistics of what had happened. Lydia's voice shouted at the inside of his skull again and they fled from the building, Ali feeling numb with confusion.

They reached the air outside and Lydia's illusion dropped.
"What... what happened?" Ali asked, bewildered. "What do you mean, betrayal? I did exactly what you asked!"

She ignored Althalos, also having a pained look on her face, though not in replica to his. The Zorua was finished using telepathy. She was just upset; the pokemon had betrayed her partner, her commander, and now the life of someone who was just being innocent. Guilt was eating away at her sanity.

"If it wasn't you, it was your comrade. There was a dead Swampert in there. I'M going to be held responsible for this. Both the escape, and the killing. Not you."

Lydia was stressed, and when she was stressed she could become quite un-predictable. The humans had finished their job, but she hadn't. She had already made up her mind; Althalos couldn't be her friend anymore, nor could any other human. Sending out the rest of her borrowed power, she sent out a Night Daze, knocking the humans off their feet. Lydia didn't want to see them again; they couldn't dare come back. She had to protect them by driving them away.

"Get out of here, and don't come back! Ever!" she growled, her eyes glowing in anger, "Or next time, I'm not going to be the cuddly little pokemon you all know me as!"

The Zorua's sight was beginning to fade. She struggled to keep on her feet, knowing she couldn't black out in the middle of the streets. Her illusions had backfired just as she had predicted. Lydia continued to watch the humans, hoping they would leave as soon as possible. However, she didn't get to watch for very long since the black had already seeped into her eyes, knocking her unconscious.
