admittedly i don't use Ice types much either usually, but i have to say my Glaceon in Diamond kicked ass c:

The problem with ice types is that you can hardly obtain them anywhere in the first half of the game. For example:
Kanto: first in Silph after nearly clearing the building
Johto: Need seven badges.
Hoenn: Need six badges and even then sealed in the bottom of a cave you don't even have to visit at all.
Sinnoh: Need six badges.

Sven had a suggestion to improve the game but I'll post it here to see what you guys think;

Giving perma ghosts even more power? Why not just make them super moderators immediately? :P
Okay, for serious, I don't think that'll help much, I think it would be a better idea to just limit the times you can boo by a standard rule rather than letting a few people decide, who can still continuously spam Giratina gifs themselves.

Adding types would just make the thread unstable and there will be too many rules.
There should just be a way to protect the thread from booing too often.

I agree with this but how would one become the Dark Type/Fighting Type/Excosist in the thread? .-. Do we just appoint one or have #75 post be it or what?

And booing happens a lot that Imve seen, mostly around numbers 30, 40, and 60.

For some reason I've been reminded of the time people wanted Sinnoh's starters to be Dark, Psychic and Fighting instead of the usual Grass, Fire and Water trio. Kalos at least did get the former involved as secondary types.
 
15. I dunno, I like the Fire/Water/Grass tradition. If Johto had different starter types in 2000 and the rest followed then I'd probably be more inclined to it but since it's stayed the same..... But I do like what they did with the 4x Weak type thing they did in Kalos. Very funny GameFreak.

Welp. I'm only gone for a day or two, and I've missed like 3+ pages in this thread? xD Regarding starter types, I'm quite fond of the Grass/Fire/Water combination, but I think a change could sound potentially interesting as well.

Even when there are more options regarding super effectiveness, I think grass/fire/water is the only one in which the resistances are balanced too. Fire resists grass, water resists fire and grass resists water. Something like psychic/dark/fighting gets unbalanced defensively as dark resists psychic entirely. I think sticking with the classic trio would be the best, but what they did in Gen VI was nice actually.
