Aw Im sorry for the loss of your locke birb. ;3;

Yeah, I love the rivals in BW though I love BW2 in whole a lot. Maybe I will try to play it again soon, i got an r4 card so I can replay without deleting my saves now. ;3; So thats entirely posisble. (Also how do you make it stop not letting you back onto a game after not playig for a day? The only compromise i found so far is to leave the ds on sleep mode when not playing it 24/7 game cannot go off. ;3; )

Grass Monotypes are tough in general imo, too many weaknesses.

I have done several Grass monotypes and with the exception of Heart Gold which was very tricky none were particularly tricky. Indeed my Pearl Grass Monotype was straightforward even though the Sinnoh games have a reputation for being difficult.

In my Nuzlocke I never thought Simon the Simisage would live to the Elite Four. He has put sterling work throughout the run including taking out the whole of Team Plasma at Dragonspiral Tower. Whilst much maligned the Grass Monkey has been a great help but may lack power for the Elite Four.

Simisage is actually a very surprising Pokemon. It has a decent movepool and stats for in-game runs'

Also, grass monotypes are hard lol. I've done a review about it actually.

find it somewhere here: HERE JUST SCROLL DOWN AND EXCUSE THE SUBPAR POEMS

That's a nice write-up about Grass Monotypes. :). I have found Vileplume to be the most useful Pokemon in my Grass Monotypes. In Heart Gold he practically took out Red on his own and was the star in Kanto and Kalos and with the Sun up the speed issue is solved.

Lilligant is great too but you can only really get one in Unova and Alola.

Simisage is a very respectable Pokemon but who decided Pansage can't learn Crunch until Level 43?

That's my first Nuzlocke completed after successfully completing Black. I had three more deaths at the Elite Four. Simon the Simisage and Jane the Stoutland fell to Grimsley's crit mad Bisharp and my starter Nia the Emboar heroically went down after OHKOing Shauntels Chandelure with Head Smash in the Final Elite Four battle. Certainly the toughest death.

Marla the Excadrill, Gothet the Gothitelle, Marshall the Scrafty and Reshiram was my Hall of Fame team. Marla and Marshall were the key players in defeating N and Ghetsis whilst Gothet was a huge help against the Elite Four.

Random note - The already intense Unova Elite Four team sounds extra epic when you know that if something goes down it's not getting up again.

Black Nuzlocke completed successfully.
Deaths - 7

The elemental monkeys are actually surprisingly usable for an in-game run, but I usually evolve them when I get the chance to. I only hold off a stone evolution if there's a certain move of interest that only the pre-evo learns.

...still never using them, ever. Ever. In a game as easy and simple as Pokemon, form wins out over function for me.

I am stll yet to use Simipour. His design seems unfitting and the Water Waiter Cress is among my least favourite Gym Leaders, Fire Waiter Chili isn't much better.

If the monkeys were not everywhere in BW, Numerous trainers would carry all three then they would not get so much bad press.

Agreed! Unless Nuzlocked, none of the Pokemon Games actually require too much strategizing. Be at good levels & stock up items, that's all you require.

Like your new Avatar btw :).

Nuzlocking by default only requires that you use the first Pokemon you find along every route and that fainting = death, right? Even then I'd say it's too easy, because all of Pokemon's "difficulty" can be overcome with grinding. Saddle me with a bunch of useless crap I'd never use and I'll just powerlevel it to 10+ levels above everything else and sweep. Problem solved!

Struggling to think of what hard Pokemon would be like...no items, no levelling any Pokemon past the next Gym Leader's levels, Nuzlocke? No evolution, no stat boosting/inflicting moves, monotype, for added rules? Maybe then the games would require more strategy than just "grind and/or use super effective moves" to beat. Maybe.

Ta. Saw a clean cut of Emil's head and couldn't resist. xD

Well, it's up to the player how to decided the difficulty of the game tbh. When I do Nuzlockes, I try to limit myself to at least one or two levels above the current gym leader. It would be no fun to play a Nuzlocke without deaths.

I can't say that it's fun to lose a mon, but playing with more risk can really make things more interesting.
