Another topic I wanna revive, lollol. What are some moves that look/sound strange to you? Can be from any game, any generation, etc.

Last time I made this, I mentioned RBY's Acid. It plays a little song. I don't know why that was necessary, but...okay.

DP's Ice Beam is weird too. A little thin strand of ice doesn't look too powerful. :(

Focus Blast is also weird. It's like they needed some excuse to have a special Fighting type attack. It makes noooo sense in my book. :<

Lick. It's just disturbing. And why is it a Ghost type move? Normal or Poison would make more sence.

Haha, that was mentioned last time, too. I think it looks more like they stuck a piece of tape on the other Pokemon and just ripped it off. Don't know how it causes paralysis either.

I always thought it was hilarious that Surf and Toxic had similar animations in RBY, the only difference is that Surf ended the animation with the water plumes used in Hydro Pump's animation and Toxic ended the animation with the blob used in the Acid animation. XD

Sooo...is the staticky crap used in the opening part of both animations water or sludge? XD

I always thought it strange that Strength was a boulder in the first 2 gen. , when the description in D/P is a "sluggish punch," or something like that.

The name Teeter Dance always reminds me of Harris Teeter, which is a local supermarket chain that I frequent. And the layout hardly causes me to become confused, in case you're wondering.

Also in Gen 1, Aurora Beam made the same sound as Hyper Beam. I think the difference was that Aurora Beam caused the screen to flash a bit more.

I've always agreed - never liked Ice Beam's animation (much preferred say XD or Colo's animation for it).

That does seem weird in hindsight... but I quite liked the animation as a kid due to that too. XD

Psychic never really appealed to me in the 4th and 5th generations - random colourful background is pretty much it. =/ Stomp too with the foot animation when the Pokemon in question does not have a foot but rather a hoof or the like. XD

Agility in Colo/XD was hilarious with Pokemon too - they just moved around in circles intot he air and back down slightly, while still doing their normal animation as they did that (e.g. 'stand' on the spot looking at you as if nothing was happening).

Double kick's animation in 4'th gen.
It now shows the opponent gettin two kicks, within one hit.
So if you actually hit the opponent twice, the animation suggests that the opponent has received 4 kicks.

All of the Thunderbolt animations, which I thought would come from the pokemon and not from the sky, and Thunder which isn't the light, it's just the noise, but it still affects 'mons with soundproof.

The worst of all is the recent animation of Solarbeam, which is light coming from the sky, when it should be from the pokemon like in gens 1,2 and 3.

Lick is just plain weird and splash is a fail. I think thats enough said :/

    Astonish.

Every single thing about it irks me. It's a move I hate for little reason except raw reaction.

    Trick Room.
I remember someone used that move against me in Platinum.. lol.. How can flipping a couple of cups cause faster moves to become slow? It was rather confusing..

Future Sight an Agility in Gen1. I get that the blues lines are to represent a Pokemon running really fast for Agility, but I'm not sure what they were for in Future Sight.

Block was weird, too. A giant red "X" just bouncing on the Pokemon. Almost as if you're Pokemon just screamed "NOOOOO D<" at the opponent. Made little sense to me.

Last, how the move Heart Swap actually had data within the Gen3 games. That's all.

Lick does not look right in HG/SS!

It sort of looks like a red-orange line going up!
