What an...unusual...taste!

    Do you have any tastes, in either food or interests or other stuff, that others would find unusual or questionable? What made you interested in it? How long have you been interested or enjoyed it? Do you often receive criticism or support for it? Have you tried to convince others to enjoy the object of your enjoyment?

    In terms of food, I have taken to spinach. I put it on my sandwiches, in my ramen, in my salads, etc. My family is rather weirded out by this for some reason (although they do like it in salads it seems haha). I don't know why, but I just started enjoying it when I would put it on my salads at work, and I loved it ever since. xD
     
    Food-wise? I used to get yelled at for putting red pepper flakes on everything. But I think they were more mad because I was changing the taste of it before trying it...? I wanted spicy, though. I'm a lot better now than I used to be, but it has to be on my pasta and pizza.

    I mix sour cream into Spaghettios and into curry, when I eat it. It's a bit of an odd combination but Spaghettios don't taste the same without it now. D: Yeah I know it's crappy food.

    As for tastes in entertainment, I can watch a lot of stupid things and enjoy it. It's embarrassing to me but tbh I am easy to please. Perhaps too easy. D:
     
    People sometimes think I'm weird for slathering many things I like in hot sauce. Not mild jalapeno stuff, either, I'm talking habanero hotness.

    Of course, I once posted that I put a third of a bottle of Blair's AfterDeath Sauce on my sandwich once (I actually did) and someone commented that they wanted to marry me, so I guess it isn't too farfetched.

    Pepper flakes should be okay. They tend to just add heat. Hot oil changes the taste and consistency
     
    I like spicy things. In fact, I like spicy things so much that I tend to put pepper on any food I get sometimes.
     
    I've actually tried chocolate-dipped bacon. And it's like really good, from my point of view at least. I'm not even sure if that's weird at all though. Besides that, I'm rather careful? when it comes to food. I don't like to try weird combos and stuff. :X
     
    Well, I've been raised with a lot of things most people here call exotic.
    Plantain crisps, to name of for example.

    Also I like my food spicy too, adn I'm talking about really spicy. We usually use fresh Adjuma peppers to spice up our food.

    Other than that, I can't really say I have really weird tastes... I mean, that goes for people from Suriname, its all exotic and black magic for the Dutch folk here though. XD

    Oh and, before I forget, there's been this recipe for hotdogs in the family for a long time. I kinda thought it was normal, but most other peeps tend to disagree.

    I definately prefer obnoxious foreign tastes, such as foreign food, names, media, etc. For example, I prefer Japanese/European/Australian Foods and Names you couldn't pronounce. I even watch Anime everyday.
     
    I like the taste of onion. Raw red onion. I'll put it in salad or anywhere else I can get away with it. No one else cares for it, and it gives my breath an awful aroma (to others anyway) so I don't do this often when I'm going to be around people. There's also a sticky bean mix thingy from Japan called natto that causes similar reactions in people, but I love it.

    Well the red onions are a lot milder than the regular ones, so it shouldnt bt that bad... We garnish a lot of dishes with it here. It also tastes great pickled.

    I can't handle natto at all like, I tried SO hard when I was in Japan but I just could not. Doesn't help I don't even like soybeans to begin with so when you ferment them..... yeah not for me LOL. I find people who like it to be truly admirable though because damn.... Red onions are amazing though, I'm with you on that one. Love them raw, grilled, cooked, whatever. Onions are so best.


    Anyway my weirdest food taste is probably either avocado with soy sauce or peanut butter sandwiches with cucumber slices.... but the latter's not really that weird IMO? My friend just thinks it's really bizarre, but poo on her because SHE likes peanut butter sandwiches with PICKLES lmao!

    Yes. And ESPECIALLY if you get the thick cut, unsalted ones.. it tastes like waffles and icecream. Like funnel-cake. It's good, I swear.

    My bro dips his string-beans in ketchup though.. now that's freakin' weird..
     
    Sometimes I go through weird phases with food, like I went through a phase where I was absolutely obsessed with these pre-made sachet things of Diane sauce and I'd pour them over everything I ate. I think the weirdest thing I did was make powdered mash potato and then poured Diane sauce all over it.

    Another phase I went through was replacing butter with tomato paste. Every sandwich I made would have tomato paste on it because I thought it was the most amazing thing in the world. My mother gave me a lot of crap for that one lol, even though I don't think it's that weird.

    My Dad covers his toast with whipped cream. I think that's odd.
     
    I just thought of another one! Everybody thinks I'm weird because I mix practically every kind of soda possible with orange juice. My favourites are raspberry soda with orange juice and passionfruit soda with orange juice, though I've tried mixing it with practically anything but Coke lol. It's so tasty!
     
    OK, so the one that comes to mind - I love adding garlic to pretty much anything (except sushi) my parents find it strange, I have even ate raw garlic too - love that sting (reminds me of the sting of wasabi or horseradish) - the other that comes to mind I do like eating raw oats as a midnight snack.
     
    I like to add BBQ sauce to anything savoury, from paella to chips to cottage pie. Sodas mixed with cordials and squashes are a favourite too, but I don't go as far to have cola mixed with coffee or put BBQ sauce on ice cream. XD
     
    I like to dip potato chips in ketchup and BBQ sauce, and also dip fries in BBQ sauce. That's about as unusual as I get with my food related tastes; though I am the type of person who would rather have burgers and chicken nuggets for breakfast as opposed to, ahem, breakfast foods.

    Outside of food, I've been told that my taste in cars and music is highly unusual for someone my age, and let's face it, I'm happily entertained by cute magical girl anime shows intended for young girls :P
