PVRIS - Half

So a fellow artist I am producing an album for referenced this when she described the sound she wanted for one of the tracks for said album. I checked it out and I gotta say, this is pretty cool! I'm mixed on the actual album it is on, but the best stuff from PVRIS like this and "What's Wrong" are a must listen.

Metallica - Invisible Kid

Today I went through the entirety of Load, Reload, and both Garage Inc. albums. I found it very refreshing to hear some softer, more creative tunes from them again. Right now listening to St. Anger because I actually really like it.

but the drums in St. Anger tho

Not going to lie, I'm not a fan of that album lol. Garage Inc. is great, but I haven't listened to any of Load or Reload. Is it worth it if I'm more of a fan of their earlier stuff?

Iron Maiden - Empire in the Clouds

Unpopular opinion but I really like the raw and false-sounding snare, it goes well with the garage-sound all of the songs have. They're not very complex but just raw, I like that.

Load/Reload is what pushed a lot of people away from Metallica because the difference with the old albums was so drastic. It's absolutely not metal, it's very experimental hard rock. But man, its so good; some of these songs are complex and artistically interesting. I find it cool that Metallica was able to write both something like Master of Puppets and The Outlaw Torn.

(And now I'm listening to Fuel.)
