What are your thoughts on the Smash Ultimate leaks?

    Alternate title name: SmAsH lEaKs AmIrItE?​

    But anyway, I'm sure most people on the internet have heard about "the entire upcoming roster" of Super Smash Brothers Ultimate being leaked via a post on Twitter taken via Snapchat, and everyone hating the guts of the culprit who hath done the deed. Records seem to link the art with an artist who works for a company who works under Namco Bandai, and it is speculated that the post that posted the leak was "impersonating" the artist, as far as I have heard. Recently, this leak has been associated with the Grinch of all people, since the leaks also featured not-yet-released posters promoting the new movie coming in November. Honestly, I really don't want it to be real, because this is probably the fastest a game has ever been revealed by idiots that felt righteous enough to spoil the surprise for everyone so that they could feel superior for knowing what the roster was first before everyone else.

    But that's just my opinion. The question stands: What are your thoughts on these leaks? Real? Fake? Somewhere in between? Like it? Hate it? I'm interested on people's different takes on the matter.
     
    It's likely real but there's no conclusive proof so I won't believe it completely until that point. The choices are good, I don't really have any particular characters I wanted but I know a lot of people were hoping for some of those additions so I'm happy with it.

    If it's fake then props to the one who set this entire thing up, they went way beyond what any other fake leak would have ever attempted. But it's exactly how absurd it would be for it to be an elaborate ruse that makes me believe it the most.

    I don't think hating the leaker is the general opinion considering he only sent it to a few of his friends and presumably didn't expect it to get out like this, but putting his career on the line breaking NDA was a real stupid move. It's definitely more exciting than any other leak and the day following it was a fun ride.
     
    Hard to tell if it's real or fake. People have gotten fairly good at faking "proof" of something, so who knows, and it's best not to assume that it is or isn't real.

    If it is real, I don't really care. As long as the roster has at least a character or two I'd have interest in playing long-term, that's good enough for me and the rest of the roster can be literally anybody. The thing(s) I'd like to see the most roster-wise isn't really ever going to happen anyway.

    Deep in my heart I know they're fake.

    If they're not, I'll be frustrated. Not just on my behalf, but also on Sakurai's.

    I haven't seen the leaks myself, but what is the focal point of people's rage towards the leak? Are there popular characters left out or something?

    From what I've seen, the list of leaked characters is apparently supposed to be:

    But any character reveal or leak is gonna piss off people really. A lot of people play Smash, and a lot of people get way too into roster specifics, getting into huge arguments over who should and shouldn't get in as if there is this legally binding rulebook on the do's and don'ts of Smash Bros rosters. But all it really is is "hey that's not a character I wanted, fuck you Sakurai!".

    Banjo Kazooie makes me pretty happy if that's legit. However, it's almost laughable that Waluigi isn't included in this (yeah I know he's still an assist trophy but it does make your scratch your head when you have the likes of Geno/Mach Rider in their)
     
    Shadow is a shoe in since he can at least be an echo fighter. The 'edgehog' certainly has enough unique moves to be a standalone character too.

    Probably not just what characters are in and aren't, but in some cases, including mine, being spoiled. Not everyone enjoys being spoiled.
