What was the most exciting moment in the games for you?

Lots of exciting and cool things can happen in these games! Maybe you captured a legendary with a Poké Ball at full health, found a shiny in your first egg, or even defeated a gym leader using tougher/weaker Pokémon after a rough battle.

What was an exciting moment for you?

During regular gameplay, in one of the gen 6 remakes (I have both), I caught Regigigas on the very first attempt using an Ultra Ball. That was very exciting. Otherwise, the most exciting moments that I experienced when playing Pokémon occurred during competitive play. I have engaged in some battles where I've made a comeback with my last Pokémon or landed a crucial critical hit that won me the game. Sometimes, I even feel excited after losing an extremely good and close battle. For example, one of the craziest battles I ever had was recently on Pokémon Sword against another player. We both were down to our last Pokémon, in which I had Amoongus and I forgot what Pokémon he had. Whatever Pokémon it was, it was Steel-type, so it was immune to my Amoongus' Sludge Bomb and resisted its Giga Drain. Either way, I pretty much had the match won. All I did was just spam Giga Drain after putting it to sleep, but it eventually woke up, hit me with some attack that I forgot, and knocked me out after landing a critical hit. Yet, I think because it had an item or something, it fainted too. Thus, the battle literally ended with both our Pokémon knocked out. The battle was so good, I wasn't even mad about his lucky critical hit or anything. I just found it exciting. I took a picture of the win/loss screen afterwards, which is below:

Spoiler:

Cannot think of a single, definitive moment. A few:
  • Took Bellossom to solo Kabu's Fire Gym. Planned heavily for it. Hunted Oddishes with Brilliant Auras to find one with Strength Sap. (Could only catch one Oddish.) Matched Centiskorch's level (27) at the start of the battle. Set up six Quiver Dances on Ninetales. Knocked it and Arcanine out.

Lacked the ability to defeat a Gigantamaxed Centiskorch easily, even at +6. (Forbid Dynamaxing for gym battles, as usual.) Learns Normal, Grass, Poison, and Fairy moves, all not amazing versus Fire/Bug. Chose to stall its Gigantamax. Ping-ponged hard on health. From the log:

Bellossom's Strength Sap (heal to full)
    Centiskorch's G-Max Centiferno (40/88)
    Leftovers + Burn + Fire Spin (29/88)
Bellossom's Strength Sap (heal to 77/88)

Continued like that until the end of Gigantamax. Finally retaliated with a Sludge Bomb.

Literal one hitpoint. Survived still, thanks to Centiskorch choosing Smokescreen over Bug Bite. Healed with Moomoo Milk rather than risk the solo on a miss. (Used two items total during the fight. Hoped to use none, but oh well.) Finished it on the next turn.
  • Found X/Y's Battle Maison quite intense. Forgets most of the details of this one. Reached the mid 40's when legendaries start coming out. Cannot recall the team or even the format. (May or may not have used Megas.) Suffered a Freeze from Suicune's Blizzard. Thawed immediately. Might have even seen a second Freeze that fight. Ultimately won.
  • Watched a streamer who did challenges with Wonder Trades. Caught them a few times. Always felt exciting. One pretty good instance: Received their starter (Treecko). Bred up a much better Treecko with the original. Traded back a Grovyle to them later in the run.

I was just catching all the legendaries and UB's in DA in Shield, and without trying or hunting any of them at all, Pheromosa, my favorite UB, decided to be shiny for me =D
One of the happiest moments I had in Pokemon =3

It's always great to find shiny Pokémon completely randomly. It's also great when you finally hatch one when breeding too. Finally hatching my shiny Rowlet a few months ago after about three weeks of trying was very exciting for me.

In previous games, my Pokemon would not faint a lot. In Legends Arceus, I would always have to sack some Pokemon and return to camp to heal after every few battles due to how the speed mechanic had changed. It was exciting because my fire-fighting starter would no longer steamroll the game and I had to actually play with these new rules and game mechanics in order to not die so often.

One thing that really excited me when playing Pokémon in general was in the sixth generation whenever I Mega Evolved my Blaziken. I loved the animation and it always got me hyped.

Post Your Coolest Pokemon Moments Here!

In my 10+ years of playing Pokemon, my brother and I have had some pretty insane experiences playing Pokemon games. Clutch battles, insane luck, or just something funny always seems to happen at least once whenever I revisit a Pokemon game. I'm here to kick this off with one of these stories, and I hope I can hear some of yours.

Believe it or not, I caught a shiny Garitina first try without even hunting. I was replaying Platinum again for the first time in a long while, and so far the run had been pretty normal. Then it appeared, catching me completely off guard. My brother was standing next to me at the time, and I immediately Master Balled it fearing that I would fail such a rare Pokemon. I deleted that file but the Garitina and all my other notable Pokemon from that playthrough are chilling in my box in Heartgold.

Honestly, I still kinda feel like the part of Platinum where me and my friends went off to one lake each to try to stop Team Galactic was so epic. The fact that we split up somehow just made the world feel more alive - I wasn't the only hero. Tbh all of Platinum somehow felt bigger and more than the games before or after.

1. The entire ending sequence to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, I won't say any spoilers as its only been out for a month, but if you know, you know.

2. When I was with my friend hunting Shiny Wooloo, this was in early 2021. It was the first actual "hunt" I have ever done and completed. The excitement I had finding it was insane. It may have been above odds (only 1013 encounters), but it still means a lot to me since I don't really enjoy shiny hunting and that still took 10 hours.

3. Another shiny, in SwSh, I was doing a Nuzlocke and my chosen encounter was a Snover in East Lake Axewell, it turned out to be shiny. It was midnight and my parents were asleep. Thankfully I didn't wake them up but that was close.
