There was no topic about this so I created one. If a mod is angry enough and doesn't think this belongs here I'm sure they'll move it to Episode Discussion instead. But I'm in a hurry and I need answers.

So the english dub version of this episode didn't air today as it was supposed to.

I know because I had to record it with my DVR because I had to work and it was last week's episode instead.

    Does anyone know why?

Is Cartoon Network pissed because they're losing this series or something?

If their that mad then maybe they should have stopped airing XYZ BEFORE now?

When is the english dub episode going to air?

Broadcasting error, most likely. It happens.

Frozocrone was right regarding the episode being leaked. According to the Bulbapedia page, the episode was leaked back on December 15th on Canada's Teletoon On Demand, approximately 23 days before the US airdate.

However, I don't think that was the reason why the episode was somehow skipped. I remember a new Pokemon episode didn't air a couple of weeks back due to a Teen Titans Go! marathon.

Kostas is right. While the episode did air in Australia today on Eleven, it's not airing in the US until January 7th which is next week. Pokemon seems to be on a break on Cartoon Network in the US at the moment, then the next three weeks will be the final XYZ episodes before the big transition to Disney XD next month for Sun & Moon.

My programming guide lists "First Day of the Rest of Your Life" as the episode for January 7. I don't remember seeing if it was listed for airing yesterday or not. As for the issue of episodes leaking online early, it happens with other cartoons/animes too. I don't think it's viewed as a big deal anymore really, especially Cartoon Network with Pokemon since it's not really their show and it won't even be on the network anymore after this month. Some networks or production companies will have the episode online themselves some time before the episode airs on TV.

Lots of things are annoying me. Either way...

    HOLD IT!

You do realize that's a HORRIBLE excuse, right?

Hold up, I didn't start watching the recorded episode, but are you telling us that a different program came up on XYZ's slot instead?

No it was the show, but it was the same episode from the week before.

    *slaps piece of paper*

Maybe because the episode was leaked online.

    HOLD IT!

I'm sorry but I don't see how that excuses the skipped episode.

Hmm true enough. But I recall my DVR stating that the episode was supposed to be "First Day of the Rest of Your Life"

    *strokes chin with right hand*

I'm not really sure because I don't live in US but are you sure they aren't doing a Christmas-New year break? I'm pretty sure it's going to air next week January 7

    I suppose anything is possible...

    *innocent grin*

    *slams desk, then finger points*

Unfortunately for you, before it was changed, Serebii.net and TV Guides stated differently.

By the way, the episode "Facing the needs of many" has aired or leaked (I'm not sure which one). I don't live in US and here no Pokemon episode airs, so I don't understand many things about this.

    *shakes head 'no'*

Then your not a reliable witness are you?

I can assure you I viewed my guide for Saturday on Friday the 30th and it said "First Day of the Rest of our Lives"

Plus we've already established that leaked episodes isn't relevant

Don't be rude. It's not a horrible excuse, things like this can happen.

I still think that if Cartoon Network was that mad about them losing Pokemon they should have quit airing XYZ AGES ago.
Nice thought, but if CN had quit airing Pokémon long before XYZ was supposed to end (apparently the end of their current agreement before Disney XD officially takes over with the Sun/Moon series), wouldn't TPCI possibly hold them accountable for breach of contract (for not finishing it to the fullest extent specified)?

There's really no excuse for them not airing the new episode though.

It just seems to me their mad that they're losing the series.

It could very well be just a simple mistake. What makes you think Cartoon Network is mad about losing the series? I really don't think they care about it that much-- it's not their property, they've been airing it at 7am, and they don't promote it. If they did care about it there would be a better timeslot, more promotion, and they would've paid for Sun and Moon's airing rights. Disney might have just put up more money to air Sun and Moon, but it also could be that they were the only ones who wanted it after Cartoon Network didn't renew their contract.

That's still a pretty horrible excuse though.

I guess everyone at Cartoon Network is inept at their job then?

I agree that Cartoon Network most likely doesn't care that they're losing the series. If they really wanted it, they'd have promoted it more, given a better timeslot and most likely had first rights to the show but they didn't want it anymore. Their priorities are elsewhere.

Secondly, just because they had a simple error in the programming, due to whatever reason that may be, does not make them inept. A few years back ABC didn't air a new episode of Modern Family like it said it would, that doesn't make everyone there inept, it makes them human. And a very common trait amongst humans is that of making errors and mistakes, it happens. Somewhere along the line information got passed incorrectly and its as simple as that. Calling an entire network inept or claiming that they are pouting like a two year old because they don't have a show anymore is simply ridiculous and honestly, rude. That's like calling a NFL QB who misses an open receiver the worst QB in the league. That is childish thinking.

Now I understand its frustrating to get excited for a new episode and find out it is a repeat. I've been there myself many times and it is incredibly annoying but its no excuse to be rude to those trying to help you understand what could have happened. Because I guarantee you that one of the reasons listed above is the reason why the new episode did not air.
