not to name any names but ;(
Meh I dunno.. feel like I like the community for the community.. not for any perks. I'm not special or anything over anyone else and having that title might make it seem so as opposed to a regular member.. so.. I dunno. I kinda like being good ol' Kura. I could donate if I wanted.. but that wouldn't stop the DB errors hahaha!

Anyone that says they donated because they "want to see PC survive and prosper" is lying because a) PC would do just fine without your $10 and b) perks perks perks, which no one uses these days anyway.

What is your stance on donating? Was it for the perks? Was it to "help PC grow"? If so, did you think you helped, honestly?

and admins if this is too stupid of a thread feel free to close!

"Not to name any names but here are two?"

    Ok lol.

But my thought's are already in the first post. I just seriously do not believe anyone that says they donated to help PC. Maybe that might have a little to do with it, but that is definitely not the entire reason. If you didn't get a nice, blue italicised username, a blog and whatever else you get these days, I can't see people donating $25 that could be put towards a game, a nice meal from Subway, clothes or whatever.

I thought the exact same thing. XD

Anyhoo, I became a supporter mainly for the perks. Who wouldn't want a blog? Larger avatar size? More PM storage space? Whle these perks are really good, it's also great to know that your little donation helps.

I didn't donate myself. If I did it would be for the social perks, not the material ones. I can't put a finger on it but it's kind of...expected at a certain level to be a supporter.

Except for maybe the profile perks. I like those a LOT.

I didn't donate myself, but before I got my supportership I always dreamed of becoming one cos I wanted the perks that went with it.

But still, if I were able to donate I would have still done it.

I mean, larger avatars, extra PM space, italic blue username and a blog is what makes supporters special.

I got a majority of my supportership from my pair, Pokemon Trainer Touko. The rest came from winning a TV review competition. I have however donated for someone else. Normally I'd never donate to a site, but PC has just been so good to me...

I just won it from a Easter Egg Hunt competition so idek but if I did, I would do it for the perks, sadly.... lool

To be completely honest, it was for the perks :3
Having said that though, it does feel good knowing I was able to support my community best I could/can, but it was mainly for the perks...

The first time I donated was because I wanted a blue italic name and a bigger avatar.

The next few times I donated were to make people like me. I was new and insecure.

The time after that, when I donated $100 in my own name when I was already a Tier 6, was to help the community. If you don't believe that I don't really care, but I had nothing to gain from it so why wouldn't you?

The times after that, I donated because I liked people and wanted to make them happy.

<3 Here is an example for all of us. Well I'll just speak for myself, an example for me :3 I believe you btw ;)

I really donated just as a nice thing for this place. I would donate again when I have the money and may choose to later on, I know the money helps, I like being nice to people and helping them, it's in my nature.

I never donated myself but the wonderful Team Fail and Shining Raichu donated enough to get me to Tier 5. But, if I had donated, I'd have done it for the perks only. I like the custom profiles and the italic name and all that more than I like the feeling of helping out the community. Sure, it's a nice feeling, but not one which rises above the perks.

I didn't donate myself but I mentioned to ShiningRaichu I was going to donate at some point so I could have blogs. And then the next day I come online and find he donated for me, which was absolutely wonderful.

I think the main reason a person should donate is because they like the community and want to contribute towards its growth and development, or at least that's why I would donate.

I donated for the perks. I donated what I donated because I wanted an email address (that I don't use). Would have donated less if I knew I was going to get modded after and get an email address anyway when I got promoted.

I donated for BeachBoy and Nica because I wanted them to be happy because they wanted to donate (for whatever reason; I think Ryan wanted to be a supporter so he could post in this forum since staff are restricted from doing so unless they're supporters) but couldn't.

Donated because I was expecting my money to be used to improve the site.

    Whats changed since then.

More skins, a new style selecter, a like button for posts, and a android app.

4 changes, only one of them worthwhile.

Overall, disappointed. Was expecting my money to be used to improve the site, all I've seen so far is new skins.

I wanted to donate so i could help out the community i was not really interested in any of the perks. I do like my different color name tho ^_^

    I love PC, so I feel like when I donate it's both to help a website that I've been with for a long time, and for whatever perks come with it. I have no issue giving money to PC when I have it to give, but when I do I tend to use it wisely. XD This is why two of my accounts are both Supporters, and I gifted a Supporter status to a friend, because at one point I went through this "PC, TAKE MY MONEYYY" phase. xD;;

    I donated to PC because:

    1) I likez pie
    2) I had exactly 25.50 dollars lying around
    3) I was bored
    4) My dad had his earphones on, so he just kept on nodding when I asked if I could use his paypal account to donate to PC
    5) In my wildest dreams, I thought donating would convince Nica to give me cookies (which has been my life purpose ever since I joined PC

Getting donation perks weren't on my mind the entire time, because I find the perks quite lame tbh. I donated because I hate/love PC :3

Tinhead Bruce was nice enough to donate for me, and I later donated to Shiny Umbreon (ex-staff one). Mac won a voucher and donated the money to make me Tier 5 and to make my alt a supporter. Both times I did want the perks, such as blog and profile backgrounds. Idk, it's just fun to simply give and receive gifts. I found my best friends at PC, so I didn't mind giving back to the forum itself.
