Why poke girls dont come back?

    I mean whats the point of Ash been changing his companion all the time? My favorites poke girls are May and Dawn and it looks like i wont see these two back soon also I know a lot of people from pokemon community like and miss Misty, this one has been gone like forever.

    What I am suggesting is rather than have a new poke girl every generation Nintendo could make a Rotation than we can see our loved characters again.IMPORTANT Im not saying for them come back exactly how they left that would not be good, instead they come back with different goals/problems and with subtle difference in personality

    So what do you guys think about these girls coming back? Would you like it? Do you think its possible?


    PS:Now a lot of ppl love Serena and have not been so long since she left fot those ppl just think about she may have one other appearance in pokemon and them be forgotten by Nintendo
     
    Past girls will never come back to the main cast. =/ They'll come in cameos and that's it. Sorry to break it to you, but that's how it's been since Hoenn.
     
    Yeah they should return as travellers in alola region but not with ash- with someone else or alone so that they can get recurring appearances
     
    I really wish it wasn't, but as far as I'm concerned the Pokemon anime is still just advertising for the games. Stuff like what you suggested would be really cool but we as fans will most likely never get what we really want until the anime becomes separate from just marketing for the games. Which is unlikely.
     
    They have characters from the previous series return though, it's not like it's never happened before. Yes the anime is there in support of the games, but it's not like they follow everything exactly.
     
    One of my friends told me that Serena is returning in Alola later on, of which I highly doubt. But that would be nice if other girls would come back even if it was like the black and white when dawn came back for just the unova league.
     
    As nice as the idea of past Pokégirls that traveled with Ash coming back after several generations sounds, it almost certainly won't happen. Seems to me that once a female traveling partner leaves Ash, we're expected to forget she ever existed, even though in practice, there's so many fans of past characters (especially May and Dawn), not to mention shippers pairing them with Ash in fan fiction, fan art, and other venues.

    Past female companions of Ash may return in the following arc for a short period, but that's about all that will come out of it-after that brief appearance, we never see or hear from her again.

    Obviously I have no idea if that's true, but I wouldn't be surprised if that does happen. She'll most likely come back for just a few episodes, like Dawn in BW and May in DP. The writers will just use Serena's appearance to cash in on amorshippers.
    This is part of the so called "status kuo" of the anime. Serena has run her course and now we're kinda just supposed to forget about her.

    I agree with that statement. I never watched all episodes of pokemon. But I watched most of Kalos and part of Unova. I seen that Dawn returned in the Unova for a bit. But whats funny is that Iris never made a come back for a bit in Kalos. Unless i didnt see that episode, then yah. I wouldnt care much for Iris, May, or Misty much anyways. I like Dawn and Serena better.
     
    Given that Iris broke the returning streak, I am feeling more doubted than ever.

    However, Serena making a possible cameo in Alola could be a possibility, since she was popular thanks to the AmourShipping saga.

    Anyways, I remember hearing the reason why the female companions always get replaced every generation is for "eye candy" reasons.

    That is probably be true, but I also remember hearing the writers say that bringing in new companions helps the story progress apparently. There's already a thread that says why that's not necessarily true, "a rant on the pokemon anime" I think.

    Anyways, it doesn't matter what morals or ideas the writers have, Serena will return purely for marketing reasons. If she returns, there will inevitably be more viewers. As stated previously tho, she wont stay for long. And honestly, even if she does return, I doubt the writers will do anything that actually makes her appearance worth while.
