    What are words or phrases you dislike?

    For example my least favorite is "my guy". "my dude" is tolerable, but "my guy"...urk, sounds a bit patronizing for some reason.

    Now that you mention it, I don't think I've seen among us mentioned anywhere recently. It was all over the place just a few months ago.
     
    Whenever someone describes something as "sick" it sets me off a little. Being sick is NOT a positive thing, so stop using it as a positive adjective, for fuck's sake. I have issues with the word as it is, and seeing it used in everyday speech like this...god, it's a trend I wish people would outgrow.
     
    I don't like the phrase "it could be much worse" - I find it very dismissive of what someone is going through. There are better ways to support people than saying that D:
     
    "perf and surf" if you live in the uk you'll probably know the reference. But if not there's a detergent called Surf in the uk and they have this advert with this woman going "perf and surf" and idk it just really grates me. :(
     
    Ethnic slurs bother me a bit and the word "mutt" as well A LOT since I'm multiracial. Why it bothers me is because people have been racist to me half life growing up as a little girl till after I graduated school.
     
    Calling a young woman a "chick" is something that makes me tighten a little. I think it's meant to be cute, but when you think about it's not the most complimentary thing one could say. A chicken is an animal, and it's livestock more specifically. A chick is also pretty helpless since it's a newborn. When chick is used to describe a particular style it sounds even more pejorative, I.e "Nah, that movie's a chick flick."

    I respond to the word, but it would be nicer to be called something that acknowledges me as still of the species homo sapien.
