[PokeCommunity.com] You know what really grinds my gears?

So, PC, what really grinds your gears? Basically, what will annoy you to no end? Is there anything you just can't stand that someone does? What?

I get really pissy when my mom talks nonstop. She'll talk constantly about things I don't care about, and then she gets pissed when I tell her to leave me the hell alone. Don't get me wrong... I love my mom, but sometimes we act like sisters rather than mother and daughter. *rolls eyes*

I know this used to be a topic before lol. I'm reviving it. :P

Other people. For some, it might be one or two little things that irritate me. For others, their entire existence. It varies. Everyone I encounter annoys me at some point or another, though.

    Mass Hysteria.

It's without a doubt the biggest problem ever. Many other problems with the world: anti-vaxxers, racism, homophobia, censorship, militarized police, conspiracy theorists, the TSA, the Patriot Act, bombing foreign countries, gun bans, religious wars, etc. They're all caused by people being so afraid of the unknown, unfamiliar, or out-of-the-ordinary that they have to curb civil rights and liberties just so they can feel safe.

omg this. I can't stand those who feel the need to vaccinate their kids. Autism isn't THAT bad. People make such a stink about this condition. I mean sure, I get it's really hard to raise an autistic child and such, but it's not the end of the world. It's not like your child has just been diagnosed with cancer. That's something else that can really grind my gears... A LOT. I'm autistic myself, so you can probably understand my anger here.

Littering is my biggest pet peeve. That's something that really grinds my gears to no end. It also really bugs me when people swear really loudly in conversation in a public place--that happens a lot on the train around here >_>

Oh, and I hate it when like, someone wants you to move, so they actually grab you by the shoulders or something and nudge you to the side. It's mostly family that tends to do that but a co-worker actually did that to me the other day. Really, I think I'm intelligent enough that if you want me to move, you can ask me to and I'll comprehend it >_>

It really annoys me when people leave a Pokemon in on the first turn of a battle if they are super weak to it just to set up Stealth Rock.

Also, I become highly irritated when I am shopping at the grocery store and people leave their shopping cart in the middle of the isle while looking for things instead of moving it to the side where people can actually get through...

And then you say "excuse me" to them politely and they glare at you like you should just disappear on the spot because you want them to move.

My biggest gear-grinder is all the annoying noises that people make. Chewing with their mouth open, breathing heavily, typing on their phone, tapping their feet, and--the worst one--whistling. Hearing those noises sets me on edge and ruins my day. Misophonia sucks. :(

Incorrect use and formation of superlatives and comparatives.

When you have 2 things you use comparative forms not superlatives, although it sounds better with superlatives
When you have 3 or more things superlatives come into play
When a word has one syllable the comparatives/superlatives use suffixes and not adjectives
When a word has two syllable the comparatives/superlatives use whichever sounds more natural to you and is more less opinionated
When a word has three or more syllables the comparatives/superlatives use adjectives and not suffixes.

It annoys me to see these rules broken. (Hopefully I didn't miss any or didn't fuck any up)

People who always try to one up you/act like they're superior to you. >.> it's not so bad irl as it is online. I've had so many people treat me like I'm somehow lower than them just because I'm not an internet intellectual or whatever.

People who police grammar, spelling, or get upset at the use of Comic Sans or practically any other font on the planet because they don't agree with how you used it. Seriously, get over it! Comic Sans is a beloved font for a good reason, and it's typography is quite open, easy to read, and friendly.

There are many things I don't like...there are many things I really wish didn't exist in this world however I find "grinding gears" is largely unproductive. It hurts no one but yourself in the end as frustration, anger, and fury are really toxic as well as fairly mind clouding.

I like action, if I see someone who needs help I aid, I don't like how the world treats special needs children and adults so I went back to college at 38 to retrain to help change it. I don't like that children in my neighbor hood are impoverished, I donate toys and money.

It took me a long while to realize that often people who are negative to you are suffering themselves and compassion is often warranted. I prefer to smile, shrug things off and get on with it, tends to save me getting an ulcer.

I also think with the advent of social media "ranting" has become the new altruism, it's all too easy to post an opinion, condolence, support or rant on an issue and then go away thinking you have done your bit. However in reality it's ineffectual, it just seems a way to raise your public profile. Oh how good am I kind of thing...

Sorry if this is a little deep for early on a Tuesday morning!

    Sarah

My teacher talking nonstop about his brilliance and how his current students are absolutely lower than his former ones. It happens every Tuesday and Thursday.

A lot of things. I live in Brazil, which that fact itself really grinds my gears. It's a violent and dirty country. I wanna move out soon.

Aw man. I don't smoke, but some of my relatives and some of my friends do, so I have an ashtray out on my patio, well some neighborhood kids keep coming by to steal cigarettes from it and they keep dumping the ashes all over the patio furniture and braking the trays.

Also people who are supper passive aggressive, like they'd rather be a snarky dick then tell you what their problem with you is. Hugs from people I'm not super close to. Picky eaters who constantly say "that's gross" or "eww" at food that isn't chicken fingers or french fries.

The one thing that annoys me more than anything is when I'm in a shop looking at something on a shelf and a stranger will grab the handles of my wheelchair and move me out of the way so they can stand where I was just looking. I can't imagine anything that a person would need to see that is so time sensitive that you would dare do that.
Plus I can't move my chair myself so then I'm stuck in the middle of an isle until whoever I'm out with comes back -_-'

People who walk their dogs outside and don't clean up their messes. Really... We've had a lot of neighbors who let their pets use other people's yards as their personal bathroom, and it's unfair for someone else to have to pick up poop behind a dog that isn't their own.

When asexuals/aromantics are told that they "just haven't met the right one yet", "will change their mind later", etc.. My mom bugs me with this one a lot even after I admitted to being ace.

It's hard to explain, but... certain chiming sounds? They sometimes give me chills when I hear them, but they're annoyingly common notification sounds on other people's phones, making hearing them unavoidable sometimes.

People blowing up my phone, cause if I could answer, I would - no need to send me 8 missed calls and 23 texts, because then I will likely only reply to one due to being overwhelmed. lol Also, people being shitty human beings in general. I have some coworkers who just.. constantly gossip and and talk bad about customers and other coworkers - who are perfectly nice people. It's like, wow stop, they are nice people and you need to keep your mouth shut and take your bitterness elsewhere. They're passive-aggressive about it too. I would tell them off if it wouldn't likely get me in trouble and start drama. One of them is close to getting fired anyhoo, so I know it's not just me who's mad about it.
