    Yes. XD; It's not that hard. Just click the total posts next to the thread title and it lists who's posted how much.

    Post counts can get in the way of legitimate posts though. If someone has a really low count, then they're sometimes ignored. ;;

    You know you're cool when... xD;

    When I was new here, I saw post count as something really important, but now, I don't even look at it as much. I just... enjoy my time at PC, instead of worrying about that kind of stuff. :x

    If you follow this link, you can see a lot of the chit-chat and other threads from years ago. It was awesome. :D
    Hey, I see some of the really inactive DCCs there! I remember people claiming that PC was doomed because the post counts kept getting smaller and smaller.

    Kudos to that. ._. I mean, just look at me for instance.. [/selfabsorbed]

    Then again, an active member is one that hasn't been banned, so he/she isn't useless.
    You can still be a member and be useless, just look at me. XD Being a member doesn't mean you're actually doing anything, it just means you're a member.

    I meant and active member, like with a thousand posts. Surely if that person is going around posting useless spam, then he/she (I'm inclined to say he omg) will received a warning or a ban. Then that person would no longer be active, nor a member. :3

    Duuude. I knew I recognised the username from a long time ago. Nice to see you finally came back. Now if only the others returned from back in PC's prime, I might enjoy this place a bit more. :|

    Nice to see PC still hasn't lost its lag, though.

    I'm glad Ty is back, now I just wish Kylie and some others would come around more. ._.

    But yeah, I kinda wish the DCC was as active as it used to be. It's not too bad how it is now, though. I'd be lying if I said I didn't care about post count (I think most people who say they don't care actually do), but it's definitely not the most important thing, or important at all really. I like it because it shows how much a person has interacted on PC. A person could be a member since 2003 but if they only had 5 posts they probably don't know PC or its members very well. Someone who joined in 2007 but has 4000 posts probably knows more about the community than the first person.

    I think at some point during their time at a forum, everybody cares about their post count. And it's usually about the time a person starts to feel "at home" at that forum, and wants to become more active/recognised around the place.

    For me, I was a member at PC for over a year and only had about five hundred posts, with every one coming in Game Development. Then I got modded, made a few friends in the Mod Lounge, and then got dragged into the DCC, back in the days when it used to receive something crazy like 8 posts a minute. Consequently, I managed to gain something like 9,000 posts in the following six months after I got modded, although a few thousand of those came in Member Fanclubs back before post count was disabled there. Then I hit 10,000 posts and I realised just how little post count numbers actually meant.

    I lost about 4,000 posts from the forum recounts and it never bothered me at all. At least, I assume I lost about 4,000 posts. Either that, or I've only posted about 14 times in the last three years.

    Until Airashii told me he still had more postcount than me, I never noticed how much postcount I had. From when I first joined, I never thought anything about how postcount would make you more 'popular'. Basically, I just posted in the DCC a bunch because I found it interesting and I found friends there. Postcount comes just as easy as that. I believe that the more you think about it, the harder it becomes to actually increase it. Some people who are older members that stay in Member Fanclubs and the like...you can't judge them by their postcount. Without postcount, I don't think it'd take that long to notice the veterans from those who just joined the day before.

    Finally, a topic that isn't concentrated on some random anime.

    Why would you even care though? The quality of the post is what matters, or should be in the case of PC. Just because they're active doesn't necessarily mean they're contributing in a positive manner to the place.

    True. But a lot of people use their post count to stroke their ego. But, yeah, I remember this really idiotic member on a forum that shan't be named, and he posted an introduction thread, and this absolute n00b greeted him, and you know what his reply was?

    'Wow, I can't believe someone with such a high post count would dare greet a newbie like me!'

    I shook my head.

    Your best post ever? Quite possibly.

    I could've sworn I was number three on that list at one stage.

    A thread being really active normally causes it to become a SPAM hole, my friend. And yeah, I agree with you when you say that a lot of people claim they don't care about post count when they really do.

    Alright people, riddle time!

    Five pirates have 100 gold coins. They have to divide up the loot. In order of seniority (suppose pirate 5 is most senior, pirate 1 is least senior), the most senior pirate proposes a distribution of the loot. They vote and if at least 50% accept the proposal, the loot is divided as proposed. Otherwise the most senior pirate is executed, and they start over again with the next senior pirate. What solution does the most senior pirate propose? Assume they are very intelligent and greedy and not suicidal.

    Were you? I dunno, that was the first time I've ever checked the "Who's Posted?" thing. It's just... gonna be really hard to beat me as #1 poster in this thread. :3

    It's actually really, really sad that I'm currently 486 posts ahead of Erica, who's in second place, for this thread. D:

    I spent ages thinking this through... and still got it wrong.. I wasn't being greedy enough and sharing too much lol ;_;

    I seriously don't care for post count... i mean it's a number.. big whoop. Having a massive post count isn't going to help you in later life? Even if you do post a load, it doesn't necessarily mean your posts are any good.

    Post counts are both good and bad. I mean I do like them to keep track of how many posts I make and such. But when members goes "OMG I've got over 1000 posts!" or it turns into something where people SPAM to run it up. I like being the second highest poster (even if I'm not 2nd when it comes to total post count when counting forums that doesn't count).

    As for the DCC... I used to love being top 5 or 10 when it comes to DCC posters. But I've kind of moved away from the DCC... maybe I'll be back up there one day (more so now that some of the old members are returning). XD

    I believe people associate postcount with intelligence. A long time ago, I used to. I thought that the people with the high postcounts were smart and knew what they were doing. I was right there, but not about low postcounts. I believed people with the low ones were the noobs; the loser people who tried to fit in with the bigger crowd but never would.

    Haha what a loser I was. I mean, especially now, I laugh in pity of my former self. I only have two hundred something posts, and I know for a fact that I'm not what I would have labeled myself as. It's just a number.

    Postcount +1 >:

    I remember Simon and I used to argue over that to see who'd be Queen of the DCC~ XD

    Three!? Oo

    I never really knew I posted here that much ._.

    On the post count thing, when I came to PC, I too thought post count was associated with intelligence. I thought Chikara was amazingly uber (still do :P) also thought it was how you made a name for yourself, though depending on those posts you can make a good or bad name for yourself. I try hard not to spam or any nonsense, the absolute last thing I want these days is an infraction. I think we would all agree with that. Those these days, I don't really care for my post count, as long as Im having a good PC time. :D

    I don't like to rely on post count to make a name for myself. I mean, hell, I really don't have a name for myself now, but that's beyond the point. :3 My primary reason for being on PC is to meet people who have similar interests as I do and have a good time.

    I have to admit that I, too, used to associate post count with intelligence. When I was new here, I guess I needed to set the n00bs apart from the rest, and post count was the only basis I could use for it (apart from grammar, of course. xP). Now, post count really isn't anything but a number.

    On a side note, after seeing those stats, I really need to get out of the DCC more often. XD;

    I never really pay that much attention to mine anymore. I once had a goal to get over 1000 posts, but seeing as it's bound to happen anyway, I just don't pay attention to it. I rely upon the content within a person's post to show me what kind of person they are.

    Yeah... I still kinda care about post count. But the others have too many posts to beat so whatever.

    I guess the urge to want to care about post count again came back D:

    Meh, I really don't care about my count. I noticed I'm getting sort of close to 2,000, but I'm not going around spamming to get to it. >:

    When I get there, I'll get there.
