Day 16 - Game with the best cutscenes

I want to say Tales of the Abyss, I really do (I swear, the cutscenes accumulate to form an entire anime), but I have to give it up for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. All of Nintendo's most famous characters looking their absolute best, heroes and villains alike battling to pursue their own goals — it really was a treat to watch. Visually, the cutscenes were phenomenal and there were quite a bit of them to boot. It would've been nice to see some voice acting, though. Oh well, hopefully Super Smash Bros. 4 will grant my wish...

Day 1 - Your First Video Game: The first game I played is either Halo Combat Evolved or Half-Life, at the nice age of 5 1/2

Day 2 - Your favorite character: Gordon Freeman the Half-Life series, for his most famous line of dialogue "..."

Day 3 - A game that is underrated: Fallout: New Vegas, in all of it's (previously) glitchy glory, thanks to Bethsoft rushing out all there games...

Day 4 - Your guilty pleasure game: The Darkness series

Day 5 - Game character you feel you are most like: random Half-Life 2 rebel soldier.

Day 6 - Most annoying character: Mia in Need for Speed: Most Wanted, I can't even explain why she is so annoying to me, she just is...

Day 7 - Favorite game couple:
    Spoiler:

Day 8 - Best soundtrack: Half-life 2 + it's episodic arc. Kelly Bailey will be missed dearly... (He's not dead)

Day 9 - Saddest game scene:The ending of Mass Effect 3, it's so terrible, i almost cried.

    Day 10 - Best gameplay: Half-Life series

Day 11 - Gaming system of choice: Tie between PC/Xbox 360, though I'm leaning more towards PC

Day 12 - A game everyone should play: Garrys mod. I started playing in '06, over 2000 hours and it's still fun.

Day 13 - A game you've played more than five times: What game haven't I play more than 5 times. Pokemon, it's up there on my hour list.

Day 14 - Current (or most recent) gaming wallpaper
I have Bumptop so I have 5 wallpapers at once, 3 of which are games. Halo 3, Mass Effect 2 Cerberus logo, Spec ops: The Line promotional wallpaper.

Day 15 - Post a screenshot from the game you're playing right now

    Day 15 - Screenshot:

I was playing Sim City 4 earlier, but I was too lazy to take a screenshot, so here's one I did a few months back:
    Spoiler:

    Day 16 - Best Cutscenes:

Of the games I've played, Civilization III has very impressive Wonder cutscenes, especially when you consider the game's age and the fact that the cutscenes for completing a wonder weren't the focus at all. Civilization IV's and Civilization II's wonder cutscenes are also very impressive, and I was disappointed they weren't included in Civilization V at all.

Day 16 - Game with the best cut scenes

Kingdom Hearts! It just blew me away, the first game I had on the PS2 turned out to be undoubtedly unbeatable in top-notch looking cutscenes. Even though Kingdom Hearts II and the two Final Fantasy games might as well have beaten it in that department, I still am running under the rose-tinted impression that the first KH had the best. So now you can't trust my opinion on this question in this time and day, haha.

Day 16 - Game with the best cut scenes

Initially, I wanted to say FF13-2 or KH because some of the cutscenes just look so good but then I remembered how freaking annoying they are to go through if it's a boring scene. Yeah, you could just skip the whole thing but they tend to be long cutscenes so there's a good chance you'll miss something important when the scene becomes less-boring. :( So you have to sit there the whole time you play through it and it gets pretty tedious, no matter how pretty they are.

I'm gonna go with earlier "Tales of" games for this. (Graces still lets you do it but added in "normal" cutscenes too and I don't like those, haha.) You still get the story of a JRPG but you can go through the cutscenes at your own pace. Don't like a voice? Skip over all that person's lines as soon as you've read them. If you skip something important like a line that was supposed to be said while they were walking, they'll do the action anyway so you do have to wait for somethings but I find that works better than, say, Dragon Age 2 where if I was skipping an "action" line, suddenly every character on the screen would be rearranged and it was really disorienting for a moment. @_@; So yeah! Tales ftw.

I know they're fairly popular right now, but I don't really like the "realtime" cutscenes very much. Like, where you control the character the entire time the cutscene is going on. I never know what to do with myself so I always just stand there anyway and I'd much rather be able to skip forward through it and get on with the game if I can. :(

Not really playing anything right now so I'll skip over 15.

    Day 16

I guess Shenmue since nothing else immediately comes to mind. Aside from the graphical achievement of the game for it's time (1999) It's the first game I remember playing that had those Quick-time events. They weren't included in every scene, but they did make you feel a bit more involved than usual. Also, whether you succeeded or screwed up had some small changes in the storyline down the road so no redo's unless you restarted the whole game.

Plus those barfights were the best, lol.

Day 16- Game with the best cut scenes

Battlefield 3, the cut scenes felt real. They were very well acted and rugged, displaying the feel of the war on terror perfectly, from stress to shock.

GLaDOS wins this one currently. Since Portal 2, it reminded me how epic she is and how amusing it is to play a game with her playing with you! :3

    Day 17 - Favorite Antagonist:

I'm gonna cheat a little and say the AI as a whole in the Civilization series, particularly in III and IV, and especially Montezuma, Catherine, and Napoleon. They will go to war with you even if unprovoked, simply because they feel like it! Those war horns in Civ IV scared the living hell out of me whenever they sounded off and I was in a game with Napoleon, Montezuma, or Catherine! They also get ticked off pretty easily, so dealing with them is like playing catch with a live grenade, especially when you refuse their demands or make demands of your own.

16: Best cutscenes: I really liked the ones in Okami, mostly because it had just the right amount, without feeling too annoying, and you could speed up text as you wanted or downright skip them, which is a wonderful addition when you are replaying a game.

17: Favourite antagonist: In general, Bowser because he's one of the most fleshed-out reappearing evil characters you can get out there. In particular games, I really loved Kristoph Gavin from Apollo Justice.

Since I realised you can get minecraft for mac, I've been playing it so much.

    Day 16

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 has really sweet anime style cut scenes, which were also quick-time events! Of course, you have to have the Japanese voice track playing over, or it's not legit.

    Day 17

Without a doubt, Majora/Skull Kid. The gaming experience that haunted and thrilled my childhood.

    Day 17 - Favorite antagonist:

I already listed Marluxia (KH) as my favourite character in gaming so I'll refrain from mentioning him again in favour of...

    PI FACE. :D

I remember I liked Sho Minamimoto (The World Ends With You) from the moment he first appeared in the game. He was back in the shadows so you couldn't really see him, but he rambles on about arts and crafts and I went "yay, one of the bad guys will probably make bad art puns!" (since I'd already fallen in love with all the puns and whatnot in the writing). And then week 2 rolls around and he shows up for good... and he's actually a Math Nerd Artist. sd,jflskjlss just like meeee. His puns and lines were just so dorky and I looove characters who think so highly of themselves. Pretty much every scene he was in had me giddy (and laughing) and I love pretty much everything about him. He's also fun to fight and he was the only fight, save maybe the last boss, that gave me any trouble with my level 1 minimalist run of the game.

Honourable mentions: Xemnas (Kingdom Hearts -- he's hilarious, I like him for the wrong reasons), Kristoph Gavin (Ace Attorney), Larxene (KH), Zombies (Plants vs Zombies), and GlaDOS (Portal).

    Day 17 - Favourite antagonist

As ludicrous as it may sound, I'm also going to have to go with Bowser. Though his prominence certainly isn't based off his success as a villain, he's been in so many titles — and not just games, either — that many people know and respect him solely for that reason. He always fails to defeat his arch-nemesis and he always comes back; essentially, it's an endless cycle. I've been kicking that damn dragon's ass since he was conspicuously pixelated, so in playing newer Mario games it's always a pleasant reminder to see how far he's come as an antagonist, and one of very few to boot.

Rodrigo Borgia for Assassin's Creed II. All of the times you let him live is annoying. Though it makes up for it by having to work your way up too him through all of his minions and commanders.

I made this a while ago, and it's still my desktop background:

    Spoiler:

Day 15 - Post a screenshot from the game you're playing right now

    Spoiler:

It's the third (i think... I lost track of what chapter i'm on) chapter of Bayonetta, right before a boss fight. I still haven't managed to beat the stupid dragon thing yet on Normal, but I will at some point when i'm not lazy. Oh and the picture was taken with my phone, and it's obviously never a good idea to take pictures of anything on TV with your phone, so it's blurry.

Day 16- Game with the best cut scenes

Probably Final Fantasy X or Devil May Cry 3 because they are the most memorable ones.

    Day 17 - Favorite antagonist:

Wesker from the Resident Evil series, just because he is so badass, and is always doing something to screw over anyone who opposes him.

    Day 18 - Favourite protagonist

Yikes! Another toughie. I'm gonna have to go with Luke from Tales of the Abyss. Upon starting the game, he appears as nothing more than a spoiled rich boy, but as time goes on he becomes so much more than that. Throughout his quest he endeavors so much and overcomes many of his ambitions. Alongside his cohorts, he has to suffer so much and you can't help but feel sympathetic for the guy. He demonstrates his strength despite the many downfalls he experiences. Other than that, I love just about everything about Luke as an entity — his character's design, humour, voice, and — of course — strength. Those, and many, many more.

    Honourable Mentions:

    - Link
    - Samus Aran
    - Soma Cruz

I think it would have to be Galm from Shining Force III/Shining the Holy Ark. Despite his race being the main villains in the game, he really has no interest in their plans and goes as far as destroying his own kind, helping out the heroes, and purposely losing. Even with all that, he's true goal is never really made clear. So much intrigue around his character and it's sad that they've stalled the Shining Force III storyline for so long.

    Day 18

Ninten/Ness, just for the fact that it's absurdly awesome how two kids armed with nothing but a bat and some physic abilities save the world from some all-powerful alien.

Ramza from FFT is a real close second.

    Day 17 - Favorite antagonist:

Jumping in the bandwagon and saying Bowser this time. There are a lot of KH characters I have in mind for favourite antagonist but I just love this one I picked a little bit more. I love how persistent he is, because obviously a Mario game is never complete without Bowser (him kidnapping Princess Peach usually follows suit), and even when he's not the main antagonist, he still makes it a point for you to like him or hate him in that specific game. He even fathered kids, so he's an immature, lovable and (sometimes) dimwitted dad, haha. But yeah, there was never a time I didn't care about him in a game, and he's just as awesome as he thinks he is. Well, maybe not, but I love him for being prideful all the same.

Runner-ups would be the Masked Man from Mother 3 (massive spoiler if I reveal his identity), Larxene and Saix from the Kingdom Hearts series, Belgar's son from Seiken Densetsu 3 (ditto with this one), Ganondorf from The Legend of Zelda series, Wario as the antagonist from the early handheld Mario games, and Giovanni from the Pokémon series.

    Day 18 - Favorite protagonist:

Sora. My interest in him varies across the Kingdom Hearts series, but I still like him for being a Gary Stu and being just characteristically Sora every time he appears. He makes friends with everyone, helps you when you're in a pinch, connects his hearts with whomever he sees as a friend (pretty much all the good guys), sees good even in those who have fallen into darkness or outright manipulates him, sees his friends as his power, and lastly, carries an enormous Keyblade to whack his opponents with. And he's just awesome.

Also comes into mind are Luigi from the Mario series, Lucas from Mother 3, Ventus from KHBBS, Roxas from KHDays, Kairi from KH, Kevin from Seiken Densetsu 3, Phoenix Wright from Ace Attorney, Tifa and Aerith from FFVII, most people named Cid from the Final Fantasy series, and Professor Layton from the series of his name.
