6th Gen This pokemon is better than I thought

Have you ever found a pokemon in x and y which you thought was useless but turned out to be pretty damn good? Mine was with diggersby, never expected to find him so useful haha.

After seeing Diggersby's stats (pre-release), I dismissed it as absolutely useless. Then I learned it had Huge Power as its Dream World ability. I trained one for myself, and it wrecked.

Pangoro was one new Pokemon I thought was gonna suck because its stats reminded me of Beartic and Ursaring's, but oh man I had a go training one and she destroyed quite a fair bit of opponents with Power-Up Punch (taught her the TM for that move). Just keep it away from Fairy-types and you shall be okay.

Also, I underestimated Sylveon for being "slow" but mine was able to outspeed quite a lot, which was unexpected but it could be because mine had good Speed IVs or something. Plus, I actually quite happy with how strong he was too, maybe I should use Eeveelutions more now thanks to my experience with Sylveon.

Furfrou was pretty bad whenever I used it. But when it came down to Nuzlocke, I had to catch one, and it stuck it out with me and walled my way to a championship.

Carbink was of the one of the gen.6 Pokemon that I thought that would suck but looks like I underestimted his Defense and Sp.Defense. Give it a leftovers/Sitrus berry then it will show it's true potential to become a Physical/Special wall.

I have a Clawitzer that I caught early in the game. It looked pretty stupid at first. Then it evolved. OH MY GOD YES. With its ability Mega Launcher it is just a beast. My moveset for it is Dark Pulse, Aura Sphere, Water Pulse, and Dragon Pulse. Totally do not regret getting X.

Klefki; looking at its stats I saw nothing all that special about it; but it serves its purposes well as the best dual-screen setter I have ever played with. Combine that with his access to entry hazards and my hyper offensive team wouldn't be nearly as good without it.

I would have to say Clawitzer. I was wanting to use it just because I wanted a water type and thought "oh I'll just use this" and it turned it to be pretty awesome!

 

[Hiatus]

I personally wasn't too fond of Aegislash at first, and thought it to be pretty weak. After taking a look into its stats though, my views on it changed completely. It's got two separate forms—Blade and Shield. Its Shield form has 500 stats in total, and about 300 of them go into its defenses (150 in Defense and 150 in Special Defense). Thanks to that, this Pokémon is able to make a great wall for almost any of your teams. Its Blade form has 500 stats as well, but the only difference is that it specializes offensively. Aegislash also has a ton of moves in its arsenal, which makes it even better. :] Another Pokémon that I didn't is Malamar. Now, I love it. I have one on team at the moment, in fact.

I decided to use a Krookodile. I didn't use one in gen 5, and I had no idea what they were like. I had planned my team out roughly, but I just saw a Sandile and thought "screw it! using this!" idk what I was expecting, but I named him King K.Rool, and he became the best pokemon in my team, including the event Blaziken.

 

[Oblivion Wing]

Aegislash. Same story, thought at first that it was ridiculous (come on, a sword?) But then it grew on me, so I bred it and got the perfect one. Now it's part of my main team. :)

 

[Sandslash Fan]

I have to second the Furfrou. I caught one, when I initially encountered it, to start filling up my Pokedex, but she became a solid Lead. Fur Coat is an amazing ability. Nothing short of Aura Sphere or Focus Blast is a real threat to her. She even had Hidden Ability (Poison) to ruin any Fairy-type Pokemon's day. Now that I talk about her, I am considering breeding one with a better nature (original was Serious) and pump up the SDef. This time I think I'll use the Cotton Guard move too :)

Clawitzer was awesome, but I never used mine for the gym leaders and Elite Four since I underestimated the power of its ability (I also had a Blastoise).

I like Sylveon too; Even if it does have a shallow move-pool. I am currently trying to hatch a shiny Sylveon. I am going to try Bold nature on it (already played around with a Timid one) this time. Sylveon seems to have no issues in the SAtk area, so I was hoping to beef up the Def a bit and survive an attack. Draining Kiss and Wish are already planned, and possibly Reflect from a TM.

Vivillon was mine. It originally stuck on my team in the beginning to help catch other Pokemon due to Compound Eyes and Sleep Power. As I played it just kept leveling and when my other teammates would fall Vivillon would have to come in and clean up. I beat the game with Vivillon and it is surprisingly good for a starter bug. Now one of my favorite Gen 6 Pokemon.

Now one of my favorite Gen 6 Pokemon.

I had the same experience too. I always frowned down upon starting Bug-types as "weak" but I decided to train this weak male Scatterbug I caught on Route 2, and eventually he evolved into a beautiful River Pattern Vivillon (that's my region's native Vivillon btw) who managed to help me defeat Viola's Meadow Pattern Vivillon, and after that my River Vivillon's early-game destroying spree began. His Struggle Bug attack helped me defeat hordes with ease, plus he had Psybeam to handle most stuff that resisted Bug.

Sadly I boxed him later on my adventure, but he'll be remembered as a helpful team member who also assisted me in catching a few Pokemon. I do love how Vivillon has some pretty good Sp. Attack and Speed for an early-game Bug-type, no wonder it became a fave of mine fast.

I used Vivillon also. She helped me beat every gym and elite four. Quiver dance+Stab hurricane+compound eyes= pure destruction!!!

Talonflame. Yup.

It's so overused now (pun may or may not be intended), but when I first heard about it before X/Y came out, I was like "Fire/Flying? Base evolution caught on Route 2? Yeah, this thing'll suck. Fire/Flying is a bad typing because Stealth Rock and so many weaknesses, and the Route 2 bird Pokemon is never good unless your name is Starraptor."

And then it got Gale Wings, Brave Bird, Flare Blitz, and base 126 Speed, blowing that thought outta the water. Got my own Gale Wings Talonflame too.

thought I would try out Azumarrill out and it really helped out on team flare battles.

Furfrou, I seen nothing special in it, even with its ability I thought it still wasnt anything tpbtake then time to breed a good one, until I ran into a trainer on rated battles that took out almost my entire team with a furfrou... he had
Rocky helmet
Protect/toxic/double team/sucker punch
I'm assuming jolly, adamant, or impish nature
It was devastating, not to mention it set him up to just pick me off after I got his furfrou snuffed out

Gogoat. I thought it'd be a generic NU grass type, but 123 base HP with Bulk up makes it an unexpected tank. Milk Drink is really useful, too.

 

[Atomic Pirate]

Hawlucha. I picked him up because I wanted a lucha libre wrestling bird (who doesn't?), but he ended up being really tough.
