Hello everyone! So, 2015 was a great year for all kinds of Pokemon gaming-related things. But, unlike most years the main series games have notably taken a back seat—we didn't receive any new main series games in 2015, or even an announcement for one. So! We decided to host a fun little event where we, the Pokecommunity, all come up with ideas for what we want out of the Generation 7 Pokemon games! That's right! We're all going to come together as a community and design a collaborative Pokemon fantasy game, which in our own hypothetical world, will be released in 7th gen. Come up with ideas, be creative, and have fun with it!

How this event will work!

We'll be discussing things in different stages of development. In the first stage of development, we will discuss what features of previous games we would like to see return in 7th gen. This will consist of a one week discussion phase, and then a one week voting phase. There will be three stages of development in total--the other two will be revealed as they come up.

Each stage of the generation's development will consist of two phases. First, there will be a discussion phase. During this phase, the community will come together and come up with ideas for features and aspects that you'd like to see in the game. After the discussion phase is finished, we will compile all of the ideas that were suggested, and put them up for a vote. That's right, you guys will all get to vote on which features sound like things you'd like to see in our future Pokemon game! You can also discuss your voting decisions, explain the reason you voted the way you did, or even explain why you didn't vote for certain features, if you'd like. Remember, each phase will last for 1 week, so if you have thoughts or ideas you want to provide, be sure to put them in during that time!

What features of previous games would we like to have in 7th gen?

Features come and go in main series Pokémon games from generation to generation--old ones are scrapped and new ones take their place. But what are some features from generations past that you'd like to see make their return in generation 7? For this next week, we're going to dive back into the past and discuss which past features we want to see make a comeback in generation 7.

What features of previous games would we like to have in 7th gen?

I think to have the ideal perfect game in this generation is to bring in features that were widely received. My top picks would be trainer customization (without a doubt the most loved feature of XY) and also a system that works like ORAS's DexNav. Another one I'd do would be to reintroduce the Free Space and Challenge/Easy Mode from B2W2, and also Move Tutors that cost shards instead of BP. And of course, a Battle Frontier.

Customization from XY also DexNav but even the 7th gen didn't have it, we should have it and original battle frontier from 4th gen or 3rd gen.. heck go with both

4) Bring back the Pikachu surf game from Yellow!
5) Yeah I know its unlikely but have a pokemon in the main game world as in Soulsilver/Heartgold/Yellow. It was a great feature, perhaps limit it to certain sized pokemon so it didnt look too ridiculous.

Yes! Soaring is great, I'd love to see it become a regular part of the main series. What do you mean by having similar abilities for surf, dive, and waterfall? What would that entail, exactly? :)

I loved the following Pokemon feature! I was really disappointed to see it gone in 5th gen. As much as I loved it though, I'm not quite picturing it working out as well in 3D, though I'm not entirely sure why. I guess one thing is, they'll have to actually make the Pokemon actual size, as opposed to using the generically sized sprites from HG/SS.

I agree that trainer customization is definitely something that needs to be brought back. Many of us were wanting to see such a feature for a while now, and was a dream come true when they lent it to us. Seeing it gone in ORAS was sort of a disppointment. If they bring it back, I'm sure some of us would more than appreciate it.

Stand by water and use item to call a water pokemon to begin surfing or initiate a dive or climb a waterfall etc.

I loved the following Pokemon feature! I was really disappointed to see it gone in 5th gen. As stated just limit pokemon to a certain size to be able to show so things dont get ridiculous and so we dont end up with huge pokemon shrunk to fit a screen etc

The features I'd love to see in Gen 7 would be customization, the DexNav, soaring, and Pokemon following you around (but like others have stated, limit it to the smaller Pokemon. Actual size Wailord or Steelix following you would look rather alarming in 3D!)

Character customisation, Secret Bases, PR Videos and Friend Safaris would be great to have again and all together too. I love stuff that we can make our own and stuff that we can share is great for forums and StreetPassing and online connectivity!

Another feature I wish they would put-together is, alongside having roaming NPCs, we would have actual players running around (that is, if we're connected to the internet). Interacting could either lead us to the options to speak, trade, or battle. Overall, I feel this would help make the game feel more lively.

I love this idea! In terms of features from past generations to bring back, this would probably fall under the category of real-time player interaction, sorta like the PSS.

1) The ability to change the angles of the overworld
2) The ability to take pics of your battles via a new move called Selfie
3) Underwater secret bases
4) The BW item selection screen
5) The ability to customize routes in a similar way to the HGSS Safari zone

Ohh cool suggestions! Right now though our main focus for the event is features from past games that we'd like to see make a comeback, since those are what we're going to put up for a vote at the end of the week. Make sure to save these for when we talk about new features though! ^^

• PokéGear (or just improve the Holo Caster to make it able to talk to trainers or let them call us if they want a rematch).

What features of previous games would we like to have in 7th gen?

1.) Bring back the Wonder Trade! As simple of a feature as it is in Pokemon X/Y and OR/AS, its an addicting feature! Even after I beat the games it was still fun to trade off random Pokemon and to see if you get anything good in return. It's like the lottery, you rarely get something extremely rare or something you'd like but when you do it's fun. There's always that "What's next?" feeling when using Wonder Trade and I really like that feature.

2.) Super Training! I liked this feature and hope it returns.

3.) Customization of characters. We've seen this previously but I would like to be able to customize my character more.

4.) Pokemon can follow you around like in HG/SS. Not a huge feature but I liked it.

5.) A apex of Mt. Silver like there was in Gold/Silver. This idea is far-fetched but overall I would like that there is more that we can do after beating the main story. Something challenging and new for the older gamers, but also something else on the side that could aspire the casuals.

There's also some new stuff I would like added but I'll save that for the other questions I guess.

Having the berry pots again would be nice. Like, really nice.
An underground area where you could find fossils and shards like in Sinnoh.
I cant think of anything else that havent been said already, so yeah berry pots and an underground area.

I also love to see underground like Sinnoh, but more vast compare to DS underground where limited to Friend Code and like to see these things become freedom exploration with outsiders than friends

What features of previous games would we like to have in 7th gen?

Following Pokémon
A main feature I really want to see is the following Pokémon from yellow and hgss. It really made those games feel like I was developing a bigger bond with my roserade pokémon, and with the new graphical style they're using in gen 6 onwards, this could be super cool to see.

Player Customisation
One of X/Y's redeeming features, I really hope it comes back. I can see why they left it out of ORAS, but I'll be a little disappointed if we never see it again.

Contests and Pokéathlon
Both of these modes are super fun and I really hope we see one or both in the next gen.

Following Pokemon would be my top feature that I'd want back. It created a more personal relation ship with your Pokemon friends.

I also want to see Pokemon Amie, Secret Bases, Soaring, The Underground, Apricorn balls, O Powers, and Dex Nav.
