Read a Meet&Greet and this is a father who caught a shiny Abra using a Master Ball because it was the only Pokeball his daughter had who asked him to catch it(and Abra only knows Teleport). Anyone had moments where they see a shiny and realize, like Ash in the Anime on several occasions, you have no Pokeballs or just a Master Ball?

I'm not that lucky to have met a lot of shinies, but there's a reason why I make sure I always have about 600 Poké Balls stocked (also partially because I don't know what else to do with all that money I have).
Since it knows Teleport, a shiny Abra is definitely worth the Master Ball though!

I have never had to Master Ball a Shiny Abra (I luckily had a Shadow Tag Gothitelle on me) but I did have to Master Ball a Shiny Female Ralts in Alpha Sapphire.

Gardevoir is my second favourite Pokemon and I was worried Ralts was going to teleport away so I master balled it there and then. (It didn't have teleport or Memento)

For Let's Go Pikachu my team might be: Pikachu, Vileplume, (Mega) Blastoise, Starmie, Venomoth, Ninetales.

I think I might have used a Master Ball once in my entire life. xD I don't know, there never seems a right moment to use one and I catch all my Pokémon (including Legendaries) with Poké Balls nowadays, haha. But if you could change your Pokémon's ball any time then I'd mix it up. I just don't like seeing my starter in a Poké Ball and the rest in special ones... xP

Also, this is unrelated, but I have a new baby cousin and I'm so happy I simply had to share the news! :D

Congrats. I use my Master Ballall the time on playthroughs but it's usually reserved for Mewtwo because he's a pain in the arse otherwise.

I think Mewtwo was the only Pokémon I ever used my Master Ball on as well, but I have to admit the urge to throw it at other Pokémon has risen as well. I remember trying to capture Regice at 1 HP and paralyzed, but it Struggled itself to death. Three times.

Ooh, congrats! Say hi to him/her from me! (Saying hi from a random person from the internet is perfectly normal right? :D )

I think I've only ever used my Master Ball on roaming legendaries since I can't be bothered to keep hunting them down, haha. Other than that, I try to exclusively use standard Poké Balls to catch Pokémon! (Well, okay... I did make an exception in Sun Version, where each of my 6 Pokémon had a different ball from each other!)

What's so great about Leafeon? I'd argue that Vaporeon > Leafeon. There I said it.

Oh, I couldn't actually tell you if Leafeon is great or not, haha. I was thinking more on the lines of "I personally like this Pokémon's concept and design!" rather than its objective viability. xD And to add to that, I sure would have liked if Eevee could make use of the Leaf Stones back in Gen 1!

Also, this is unrelated, but I have a new baby cousin and I'm so happy I simply had to share the news! :D

Nice, nice, congrats!! Have fun spending time with your new cousin! =)

All the more reason LGPE should allow all Eevee Evolutions along with Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh Evolutions for Kanto Pokemon. With the Ice Stone now being introduced, they can change how Eevee evolves for Leafeon and Glaceon to those particular Evolution Stones: Leaf Stone for Leafeon, Ice Stone for Glaceon. Espeon and Umbreon level up via Day or Night for their respective Evolution and if you want Sylveon, be extra nice to Eevee and it'll evolve into its Fairy Type Evolution.

At the time, Ice Stones didn't exist, hence why they have Mossy Rock and Ice Rock or something along those lines so they're similar in how they evolve(since they were added as a pair).

What are we talking about? Eeveelution in LGPE? I feel like it's waste to have Eevee as mascot and then allowing only 3 of its evolution in the games. And then there is the fact that you can't even evolve your partner Eevee. I mean, you are suppose to move forward and evolve as trainer, but your own partner Pokémon can't?

Let's talk about something else... Have you ever... Wait, there is already thread for that. What are your thoughts on mini-games in main series games like Mantine Surf and that new mini-game in LGPE?

Also, this is unrelated, but I have a new baby cousin and I'm so happy I simply had to share the news! :D

Congrats! Prepare for many hours of babysitting.

The reason they're limiting it to the first three is to give a throwback feel and the fact the starter can't evolve is paying homage to Pokémon Yellow(the game GO is based off of frankly). My only beef is they're cherry picking what to include in LGPE. Alolan variants being included are to fill in the glaring gaps in the Type chart but Mega Evolution is the real eye raiser that needs clarification or further evaluation. Gen 6 implies a Mega Ring and a Mega Stone that is held by the Pokémon. The Anime itself spent several Episodes explaining this and ORAS even pushed this narrative as well. Now in LGPE, we're supposed to accept Mega Evolving without holding the stone? Feels like a slap in the face or admitting they screwed up. Also, if they're including Alolan variants, why can't they include post Gen 1 Evolutions of certain Kanto lines(like Scizor, Steelix and especially Kingdra). Heck why not pull a reverse Gold, Silver, Crystal with LGPE and instead have you do Kanto first and then do Johto next... just saying that would be awesome....

You pretty much named all my concerns about LGPE. I feel like one day, they want to please old fans, but next day, they want to make the games easier for new fans. There is a fairy tale in my country about a dog and cat cooking a cake. They decided to put everything they like in it like bones, mice... When they're finished, they left the cake outside so it can cool down. During that time another dog finds it and eats it... And it became ill instantly. The moral of the story is that you can't please everyone and I feel like GF should read this story before making another game.

Hmm, the more I think about it, the more I'm inclined to skip LGPE and simply buy the next games that come along. While I love how bright and colourful Let's Go is... it's probably not worth it. :P Game Freak hasn't convinced me, haha.

Congrats! Prepare for many hours of babysitting.

Haha, I wish, but I've never even held a baby let alone taken care of one. ^_^; Hopefully I can meet her before she's much older and get some practice in for when I have six children lmao.

Eh I held my niece before, even fed her but that was for maybe 15 minutes. Long term I know I'm not cut out for it. As for LGPE, I made up my mind months ago about it and the handholding and other cherry picked features are not helping.

Pokemon is not very high in my priority list, and even then, a handful of spin-off type games like Mystery Dungeon rank higher than the main games on my list. So I already was going to not buy LGPE when it was announced.

Since these posts have had two topics each, there was something that I was wondering what people would think of. We've had a handful of fan games do this, although they did it via regular RPG battling as opposed to the Pokemon-style gameplay. Do you think one way Pokemon games could become very different is if Pokemon could have more than 4 moves to select from? I've been picturing how games would work with Pokemon able to select from 6-8 moves instead.

I've always thought Pokémon would evolve beyond 4 moves to where they'd have up to 4 moves based on the "category" of move being applied. You have Physical attacks, Special Attacks and Status moves. Seeing as that would imply 12 moves, we could combine the Physical and Special moves as one category(meaning each Pokémon can have four attacks), but also up to four "Utility" or Status moves to inflict status, raise/lower stats or as utility outside of battle(like Cut). In other words, 4 offensive moves plus another pool of moves that affect the course of battle. Utility moves such as Cut, Surf, Strength, Rock Smash etc. would be special cases where Pokémon could have more than four offensive moves.

I think 4 moves is pretty balanced number. I have problems with filling them up sometimes so I can't imagine what would happened with 4 more moves.

But what I would really like to see is more branched evolutions. There is already so many evolution lines and I feel like instead of giving old Pokémon new forms to make them relevant, making new evolution for them could be better. Imagine more Pokémon having 3 or more evolutions.

Now where is your Kanto Sandshrew to go with it? See if I ever got around to it, I'd get both Kanto and Alolan Vulpix. Thing is I never see them anywhere short of online. If I got LGP, both Sandshrews would make my team since they're that good. My LGP team covers everything but Normal and Bug while my LGE team covers everything but Normal and Electric because I lack a Ground Type that I like. In case anyone is curious, these would be my teams.

LGP: Pikachu, Blastoise, Sandslash, Alolan Sandslash, Alolan Raticate, Clefable
LGE: Eevee, Venusaur, Ninetales, Alolan Ninetales, Alolan Muk, Starmie

My LGP resists Normal and Bug while LGE can resist Electric via Venusaur. Have no Normal counter on LGE sadly due to no Rock/Steel type. I thought about Alolan Dugtrio though but I opted against it.

I have no idea what teams I would use on LGPE. I would probably get the Pikachu version and because would probably keep the starter Pikachu on my team just to see how much broken it is. I think I could rotate my team a little bit, but I can see Alolan Raticate, Kingler, Muk, Rhydon and Lickitung on my team for E4. These Pokémon are the ones that are on my "to use" list for a long time and I really haven't used them at all or in a really long time.
