I thought it was an interesting read. I definitely think whoever wrote this is looking WAY too much into things, though - but it's hard to tell if this is an actual suggestion for what the series might mean or if it's just random theorizing.
I feel the same way. Although playing through Sapphire with Treecko as my starter was the most painful experience I've ever had. I do NOT like that evolutionary line. :P
That being said, the storyline for the game was just fine IMO.
For me, I think it would have to be the Crash Bandicoot series. I LOVED the games when Naughty Dog were still making them, but they really dropped in quality after they sold the rights (or lost or whatever, I don't recall the story there). Anyways, there were still a few gems, but the majority...

The Krabby Khronicles
Chapter Three: Whitney and the Plain Badge
It feels like weeks have gone by since I first stepped into Goldenrod City... I blame the department store
Started back on my journey, tried to challenge Whitney for her badge, but she wasn't home...
New Bark Town... probably my favorite music from Gold and Silver just because it was the first in-game tune I heard upon starting the game, and it's always stuck with me.
Starr's Solo Run Challenge
The Krabby Khronicles
Chapter Two: Ilex Forest and the Hive Badge
Met Kurt, who immediately ditched me to go after Team Rocket at the Slowpoke Well (How rude!)
Followed Kurt into the well, found him injured, headed further into the well and defeated the Team...
I just assumed that the father was off on a Pokemon journey or doing something somewhere related to Pokemon. Don't forget that the main character in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald's father was not only present, but the Gym leader in a nearby town.
EDIT: Nevermind, I saw the exclusion about the Gen 3...
Starr's Solo Run Challenge
The Krabby Khronicles

Started off from New Bark Town with a Chikorita in tow
Made my way to Mr. Pokemon, received the Pokemon Egg

Yeah, I think part of the problem with the Electric type is after I signed up for the challenge, I checked Bulbapedia and found out that there's only something like 14 Electric type Pokemon in the whole game, I don't recall the number but it was a low amount. Add to that the fact of having...
Hehe, thanks - I still want to do the Monotype Challenge, but I was kind of losing interest in the Electric type, so I'm going to think hard about which one I really want to do and when I finish my Solo Run Challenge, I'll be better prepared for it. ^_^
I would like to sign up for this challenge - I will be leveling through with a Krabby being sent in via Egg from my SoulSilver, and my Krabby will evolve. The challenge itself will be on my copy of HeartGold. ^_^
As sad as it is, with as much work as I've put into my entries and how surprisingly attached I've become to my little Electric type Pokemon, I think I'm going to drop out of this challenge, at least for now, as I've decided to pursue a solo-run challenge instead and want to use my HeartGold...
