Yes! Rotorua did stink haha but it was pretty cool!! Taupo was so beautiful, you could see across this giant lake to snow capped mountains - very cool!

dear lord. i've heard of that on occasion from absolute top-level journals who require every tiny thing to be perfect and ask you to do another half a project just to show one tiny little thing, but that's still loooooong. inversely, a postdoc who visited our lab a while back had a paper accepted without revisions recently. yeah. that happens irl.

well, at least it's got to the reviewer! one of my friends is trying to publish right now and it keeps getting rejected by the editors. it's a really good paper tbh so the lack of response suggests that they're not even giving it the time of day which is, you know, frustrating. keep me updated though!!
