  • Ahhh sorry for taking a while to get back to you! I got caught up by life but have now found some time sitting on the train to reply. I'll get those Stardew photos to you sometime. :p

Hopefully you both find a career in Physics rewarding. I think that's a good perspective to have on the trickling down effect - I'm sure you guys will both contribute a lot to the field even if it may not feel like it at times. Do you know what you want to do after your postgraduate studies or is that too far ahead? And I'm glad it at least made being an adult seem easier! I feel like its good to figure out things like living independently when you're younger. Was there any reason your siblings didn't go to boarding school too?

Yeah Harry Potter seems to be a staple in childhood reading :') I wonder how popular it will be in 20, 30, 40 or even 100 years. Will it become like novels like Alice in Wonderland which everyone knows about and still reads? Who knows. That must have been daunting to be introverted but in an environment where you're basically around others 24/7. I hope that despite that you managed to make some great friends there!

Awww :') Definitely go for it if you have the time - I never realised but there's so many opportunities to volunteer and help out in the community. That's a lesson I guess both of us have to learn - it's one I've always struggled with and still do. Therapy has definitely helped where I feel too hesitant to ask for support from my friends on issues. But it made me realise how much better it is to not isolate yourself in hard times. Where did you go to for vacation? Happy that it seemed like a lot of fun! Also hope that your body recovered!! Guess there's a thing of enjoying a holiday too much but it sounds like you did a lot on your vacation. :D
Stress going around with my Dad and stuff.

I at least used that as a way to shave my legs.
Feel free to share screenshots of your farm anytime, I'd love to see it! I'd love to see anything whether that's the inside of the house or how you've laid everything out. I'll try and get screenshots another time, when I find some time to log on! Now that you mention it - I'm not sure if there's a thread for it? I feel like there may be a general thread to talk about Stardew (though it could be inactive) but if there isn't an existing one already then a screenshot thread is very much needed. :D

That's the beautiful part of Stardew Valley I think, you could relax and enjoy it forever. I've seen people put hundreds of hours into the game and still have lots to do and even starting over and trying different paths means there are even more hours - perhaps thousands that one could spend without getting bored. Honestly it's incredible how much work one developer put into this game - I believe he did most of it by himself from memory?!?! It took him forever but the amount of dedication, effort (not to mention talent to be able to do so many skills!?!?) is wild.

That sounds very impressive! Have not done much Physics beyond what was compulsory but know a few friends who are deeply interested in the subject and it does seem to have a super important application. What is instrumentation, exactly? Also, 11 YEARS?!?! That is incredible in a way, how long you've been away from your home. Did you enjoy it or would you rather have had a different experience? I can't imagine what it'd be like to have that sort of independence so much earlier in life. I feel like it'd affect a lot of areas of life like how you change as a person and even relationships with family etc. but obviously don't have any personal experience so not sure if that was the case for you :p When I was younger, I remember always wanting to attend a boarding school. I loved Harry Potter as a child, not just for the concept of magic but also how they portrayed boarding school. I imagine they're quite different in real life but the way they looked in movies always seemed really cool. Being able to always be surrounded by friends seemed like a dream. It's great to hear that you are taking a break at least before pursuing a MS in Physics - I hope things work out in terms of getting a uni course closer to home and that it all goes to plan. :)

Yeah! I think when I was younger I was very excited about growing up but now I am more than happy to enjoy the present. It is exciting the unknown and all the new opportunities though it is also a little sad to leave things in the past. And the volunteering was great - it was really good to help out and had some wholesome interactions with people (like the elderly). It's odd though some things in life have been going amazing but then there have also been such enormous difficulties / lows. Just got to keep moving on and looking forward to the good things coming I guess. Hope you are doing very well overall! How was going away?
Oo congrats on reaching the bottom of the mine - have you delved into / discovered Skull Cavern yet? And mine carts are an actual gift. I feel like most of the day in Stardew gets taken up by walking more than anything. It doesn't feel like a long distance until you realise it takes your character an hour to walk from one side of town to another :') Also you're smarter than I am - I never thought to buy a stable, only when playing with my friend did I go Hold up?! This is so much faster.... took a while for sure.

Awww, you should definitely get around to having more cows! When you have lots of cows to interact with, it is the best. So many happy cows in one place. There is no need for anything else when you have lots of cute animals to look after. It sounds like you have a really cool farm going on though. :D And congrats on reaching level 10 for fishing! I remember finding fishing difficult at first but over time it has been fun trying to collect all the fish (though some of them are super annoying to find / catch). I feel like it'd be cool if the game did something similar to Animal Crossing and introduced skills like bug catching. Do you feel like there's anything more you want to see in the game? Definitely seems like people are good at writing recipes with how many people in the town send through in the mail. And it's okay at least Gus will make some serious $$$ from you buying all his recipes, you're doing a service helping the Salon continue operating!!

I'm really happy to hear that college sounded like a super great experience for you! What did you end up studying during college? And does that mean you're going back / have gone back for postgraduate study? I wish you only the best of luck and success with whatever you are doing now :) It's surprising how well the Pokemon fanbase has aged but it has been great seeing that people maintain an interest in PC. Also definitely not grown up at all - in some ways I feel like I have changed but not too much. Still have no idea what I'm doing (but that's only normal). I have exams coming up in a few weeks so going to try preparing / study for those, looking into uni degrees etc. In terms of other things, I am going to be volunteering for a non-profit organisation for the first time this weekend so I am really excited! I love the idea of volunteering and am excited to give back to the community.
I mean 6 years ago, I was graduating from high school lmao but yea, its pretty wild. It was nice. I'm glad I caught you at the right time too, I don't think I would take another 6 years of silence haha but yeah continue on!
ugh don't remind me, like I've graduated college last year, and I've been like stuck in this crossroads and like still finding what i want to do. Don't get wrong I love the course I took and I like a job that centers around that, but I feel like it's not where I'm gonna be enjoying the most? idk im doing something different, more on what I want to do and what i think id enjoy but like theres all these thoughts that im having trouble with, and all that its a mess

but other than that I'm okay lmao

tbh I'm not here much myself, like I left PC in 2018, only came back to check things in between that time frame, but I havent been like stuck here ever since so yea. It was actually a coincidence I decided to check PC today lmao
OH MY GOD YOU'RE BACK I CANT BELIEVE IT

Yes I'm fine, it's like how many years now? OH MY GOD 6 YEARS BOI WHAT YOU DOIN

Yea I've definitely read them, it was def intense, but yea i can't believe you're back, I still remember waiting for the day you'd came back here lmao everyone missed you and such

Gee, a lot has changed omg
Yes precisely! You get it better than I could try to poorly over-explain lol. I have just at two years left; very excited about whatever's at the end of this seemingly endless tunnel. It is definitely mostly acting right now - I am earning a degree with a concentration in professional performance, after all - but I am broadening my horizons to both writing and directing as well, just to see if there's anything there that I can play with. We'll see! In time.
I have messenger and instagram lol. So we can do messenger if you'd like!
And that's awesome! Is America a destination you're hoping to get to, or is his associate just an inspiration of sorts?
We need to find some way to communicate more effectively!
The license is nice to have. I was at least good at it so if i ever need a fall-back i won't be doomed. Plus being able to shop shampoo and hair stuff for really cheap is super nice haha.
What got you into the agriculture part? Part of the family or a personal interest? What do you hope to pursue in physics uf it turns out the way you hope?
Oh, no, not at all! It won't take long to get ready at all haha.
Tbh I've kind of taken a leave. I left for years and haven't made a full comeback, but i lurk every now and then.

I work at a local casino. It isn't glamorous or anything, but the health insurance is really nice, and i enjoy the people i work with and for.

And yeah these past six years have been interesting haha. Went to hair school, got licensed, found out I hate it, and have been wandering almost ever since.

What do you plan to study?
I was literally on your profile not too long ago missing you. I'm so happy to hear from you again! Like I actually got all warm inside when I saw your message. I had to read it twice because I didn't think it was actually you for a moment!
I'm well! I'm actually getting ready for work, but it's my "Friday" so I'll have off the next two days.
How have the past few years treated you? Everything ok?
