  • Pick your Nidoran = Pick your poison {XD}

And yeah, enjoy your turkey. Or plurals, if better. Be seeing you then!
I don't mind waiting. I can't put up the more serious leg of work before December 2nd anyway, due to job and socialité.

So, pick your Nidoran on what kind of scene are you interested in checking?

    * Kid!Archie and/or Kid!Maxie making a presentation for their class.
    * Archie recommending Maxie an accountant for his team.
    * Archie and Maxie when the things get though.
Hey, would you be interested in beta reading / proofchecking one or two of the missing scenes I was writing pending for the Archie/Maxie fic? Doesn't need to be a hurried thing.
    Good sir and or madam:

Congratulations for your exemplary performance in this challenge. It has been fun, and interestingly informative. Let's do that again sometime. With more silly.
Haha, not quite! This is the username I originally signed up with, and was first modded in, so I decided to switch back. It was fun being Nolafus for a while, but I missed this username. It's the one I use everywhere, so it just feels right.
If you don't mind, I'd love for you to check out this post and offer any advice.
I say that I'd love to chime in, and I'll try. I just have to make sure be lucky that some people who keep me busy suffer... "accidents".
Being cold in the winter months. =p Well, not that Australian winters are anything compared to many other countries' winters, but it's cold enough for us.

Generally well, I suppose. Finished undergrad with honours last year, which was really darn intense (here for my course, honours = an extra year, half project half coursework). Now I started my PhD and actually have more time for various things like writing and etc, which is nice.
It's more like the age group for MLP is of a higher age than Digimon writers. Most of the fics I read for MLP were written by college-aged or older fans. On the other side, the fics I read for Digimon were written by high-school-aged fans, and there's a definite difference in quality. Not just mechanics-wise, but also in plotting and characterization. Also, the MLP fics were more mature in dealing with subject matter, while the Digimon fics felt that maturity equals swearing and guns.

To tide you over while I edit my own Zero-Two retelling (chapter two is giving me issues, and once I get through it, I can continue the story), you can check out the highest-recommended story from the fandom: The Story We Never Told by ker-plop I've read all the current chapters, so I have my own thoughts on the story. I'll keep them to myself until you've had a chance to look at the story.

I haven't read all 190 DragonLance novels. I doubt anyone has. Most people, whenever they discuss the series, only bring up the first six books. Those are actually the only ones I'd suggest people look at if they want to see what the series is like, because those are the only ones I can say are "good." The ones that I've read fall mostly under "average fantasy fare, but why was it written under the DragonLance name." There was one that I read where I wondered if any editor looked at it before it was published. Basic grammar mistakes everywhere.
Okay, I fixed up the CSS. I think it looks much more neat and readable now. I only edited the first two chapters because I'm rewriting parts of the story itself so I'll fix things up as they get updated.
    Hiya~
Just wanted to stop by and say thanks for the review on my fanfic. I definitely agree with pretty much everything you've suggested, so I guess it's time to get editing. xD

Also, just so I can get some opinion...
What's your take on CSS? I want to have a background for the story, but if the green on grey contrast looks 'annoying', maybe I could go with a lighter pick?
It's great to hear that you have some more free time to visit PC! The past couple of weeks, I missed having you around, especially since you're the only person I can talk to about Digimon. At least you had time to write your story, and I'm looking forward to reading more of your story. I just have to go back and refresh my memory of what happened.

I had finished reading my entire personal collection of DragonLance books, and read the last one in May. After that, I went through the TV Tropes recommended list of Digimon fanfiction and read those that sounded like something I'd enjoy reading. Most of them were average (and way too much Takari, which I don't like at all) and there really wasn't anything spectacular from that page. There's only one I could recommend, but with a warning that the first thirty chapters of the fic aren't that great.

Actually, I've dipped my toes into another fandom. It sounds silly, but I checked out a few fanfic recs for the My Little Pony fandom. All but one of the fics I read are amazing. There's only one I haven't started reading yet, but it's a MLP/Ender's Game crossover, and it looks really interesting.

For my own writing, as I said in the Random Writing Nonsense thread, I discontinued three fics I was trying to work on. They were Pokemon fics, and no real loss. But now I have more time to devote to my Zero-Two rewrite. I'm on chapter seven out of twelve for the first arc of the series (that covers up to the Kaiser's defeat), and things are going well. Though I did just go back and rewrote the end of chapter two, so it might be a while.

Other than that, everything has been the usual for me. Nothing exciting going on, except for the one-person celebration I had when the Spurs won the NBA Finals.
I agree that the story was very skeletal. After spending a few days thinking it over and listening to the movie's soundtrack, I've determined that my least favorite thing about the movie itself was that it pretty much skipped over Dragon Army. Dragon Army is my favorite part of Ender's Game, and was the one part that I was most looking forward to in the movie. Obviously, I was really disappointed that they only got one quick game in the movie and everything else was essentially brushed over.

And it did annoy me that for that one shown game for Dragon, Graff allowed Petra to transfer into Dragon so that Ender wasn't short a soldier. Which struck me as odd because I thought Graff wanted Ender to not figure he'd get help? Having him be short a soldier would be more of a test to see how well he'd do strategically rather than giving him help from an adult.

Speaking of Petra, while I do enjoy that her character was given more time, a few of the scenes she was in should have been done with Alai or Bean or even Dink. (Someone on an OSC fanforum asked why Dink was in the jeesh in the movie. They understood why in the books, but felt that Dink wasn't given enough development in the movie to show why Ender could trust him.) Though Petra was given more screen time in an effort to bring in the young female audience, which I can believe. (Seriously. Some of her scenes reminded me a little too much of self-insert fanfiction. Given the fans that Asa Butterfield has, I'm not surprised that I could walk away with that interpretation.)

If you'd still like to read my first impressions, I have them posted here.

I like the ending message as well. That really is a good way for Ender's character to go. Being forced into an "innocent xenocide" is an interesting thing to think about.

Also, I'm going to be going to see the movie again later this week. I'll let you know if any thoughts of mine do indeed change on a second viewing.
I've only seen it once, last night at the last showing at my local theater. I'm still kind of "meh" about it. Don't know if you want to read my long first impressions on it. Still hoping to see it again though.

I haven't played the Wonderswan games yet. I'm trying to get through Y still, but I just haven't had the interest in playing it. Nothing against the game though! I love it, and all the extra features that they've added or changed are great. I just haven't had the interest in playing through it. I'm probably going to sit down this Sunday and just play through the game.
Oh, haha. You signed on. I wasn't expecting you to return, and wondered if you would come back to a lot of notifications from me constantly sending you VMs.

The final trailer for the Ender's Game movie was released, and it's still stuck in the same "let's have massive explosions" rut. The trailer showed very little of anything but action, focusing way more on the final battle than on anything else.

Fortunately, I have heard news that there more character interaction than what the trailers show, and that the friendship between Ender and Petra is more explored. Also, apparently Bernard gets redemption and goes to Command School?

On a Digimon note, I will soon be playing the Wonderswan games that were never released in America! This is all due to that wonderful 02 rewrite and the great question of "What about Ryo?"
Congratulations on winning the SWC! I'm gonna read your story tomorrow when my night is less crazy!
