The exp. share doesn't show up in bag, but it still works. It can't be turned off and the game has been balanced around it, so no worries about the game being too easy. The level cap was made intentionally, so that you don't end up overleveled before a major battle (gym leaders, Giovanni, E4 etc.).

You get a speed boost from mobis after 3 steps on non-cracked floor, after that you just have to walk quickly through the cracked floor and you can't hit the wall.

Go to Silph Co. top floor, you will get ghostfinder there. After that, go to the Burned tower, defeat Morty and he will upgrade the ghostfinder.

Walk a lot between Illex Forest and Azalea Town, that should do the trick.
