Each Pokémon generation seems to be the best selling game(s) for the handheld they're released on. But yeah I think XY could turn all that around, the hype and anticipation for these games seems so huge. I can see these games selling millions of copies after a couple of years and probably becoming the highest selling games on 3DS.

I'm not sure about the older games i.e RBYGSC but they've almost caught up with Diamond & Pearls first week of sales, as for Black & White it would be known when the games are actually released. Either way they're looking to be very popular right now.

Mmm, well Pre-Order figures are veery strong for X/Y right now (something like 1.2 Million), infact they've broken 3DS records without even being released yet. I'd estimate them stopping at Gen VIII or VIIII at a push.

Come Gen VII it will be Dark, Psychic & Fighting! ;)

Water/Dark is an interesting type combination for a starter though, iirc we've never had a Psychic or Dark dual typed starter before.

I'm still not completely sure of the typings, is it Fire/Psychic, Grass/Fighting, Water/Dark? If so then I'm happy with that, it's unique after all.
