  • Trust me bro, we all need some motivation some time. I need some motivation right now especially, things are tough. I know man, I'm trying to forget about the past but I don't want to make the same mistakes. I have a long road ahead, but I'm trying my best. Yeah, we need to take one day at a time. Thanks for the advice man, I really appreciate it.
Haha it's a funny story. My birth certificate says Beijing, but I was actually born in Hunan province. My parents were working in Beijing though, so my place of birth was registered for Beijing so I could get hukou'd for that. I left when I was 3, but I visit regularly. In fact, I just went to Shanghai and Beijing this May. The air pollution is noticeably bad nowadays though. Our group all developed respiratory irritation like exactly on the fourth day in XD I think alcohol is incredibly cheap though, so that's awesome ^^ I think a 600 mL bottle of beer is like 15 or 20 rmb in a restaurant, and that's like $3 lol. Canada is an awesome place XD Fortunately I live close to the border (like most all Canadians now I think of it) and I've got my drivers license, so if I manage to scrape $500-$1000 between now and next summer I might do a solo road trip or something XD I also want to visit Hong Kong though, especially because I never have :( Where'd you go when you came to China? There's a couple or more of Chinese members here, and it's really cool because they're actually really diverse. A friend of mine is from ghetto Gansu lol, so fortunately he made it to sunny California.

Hehehe I would like to say that I don't, and I don't officially - meaning I don't put time aside to game. But I always procrastinate and find myself gaming regardless D: I think I'll get a 3DS when Christmas rolls around. I've played Gen V to tediousness though, so I don't really miss it all that much. Right now I'm playing through Tales of Phantasia again.
No, it's not a big dungeon. It's a town with like stores and stuff, and you can go to battle dungeons from a map. More unlock as you progress.
    I also enjoy kirby games.
Not only ethnically Chinese, but emigrated from the one and only People's Republic (I still visit often, so I know what I'm talking about)

Ehh played :P Schoolwork caught up on me one of those days, and I still don't have a 3DS D: As for this forum, I stay almost completely in off-topic discussions :P
I like that its lively too. XD

Uhm. It is kind of weird? But you get kind of use to it. The first game I was like. "Wait.. what?" a lot but as the story progressed I understood it, and I liked it! AC3's ending was terrible though. The plot was so good, and then it just ended badly. Still a good game though! I'm debating if I want to try the new AC.

*u* Sonic the Hedgehog! I love those games lol. Another favorite would probably be the classic Mario games on the Nintendo 64 XD I remember being a kid and spending hours trying to pass a level. Lol. The consoles I'm currently using are my 3ds and my PS3. I have an xbox360 and an old wii as well hanging about. Lol.
Yeah! I play Call of duty, battlefield, GTA, Final Fantasy, and everything in between!
Im current obsessed with GTA V, its a cool way go blow off steam ^^
Also, im a big fan of the Diablo and Elder Scrolls series.
I just find how people think interesting I guess haha

That and I really enjoy helping people fix their problems, and somehow I don't suck at it. xD

Not yet, but I'm going to get Y at some point. They look really good xD
Yep, I've got you on my friends list. When I see you on there, I'll be sure to send you a battle request. c:
I can talk economics and politics, as well as non-intervention and sovereignty like a chinaman. But when the topic's about social issues, ie sexuality *nervous lel* yeah you know what I mean ^^ the norms get to me. It's the most subconscious self-censoring, I barely even notice it anymore :P Yeah, I've done more swallowing than I find comfortable ;)

I like how you're both very rational as well as conversational. A lot of people can't get the two together. It's a personal way of explaining something, and that's good, cuz you're selling an idea /to/ someone, so it obviously can't just be about the idea.
    Fair enough xD

I have to say though, relationships can actually be a very interesting topic haha
I was lucky enough to pickup all of them at the Garage Sale i found them at, so yeah i know ^^ i cant wait to do it again, just dont have the time to fit it in right now :/
Well, Pokemon only appear in certain areas, so you could just explore wherever scyther is.
Legendary Pokémon are usually bosses, and if you go back to a stage after beating it, and you're lucky, you can get them on your team.
Ah right, so you only got into competitive battling recently (: I haven't figured out how to use Super Training but I bet it's a whole lot easier to do EV training these days.
By the way, I know exactly what you mean by wanting to play with your favorites. I'm the same. One of my favorite Pokémon is Chatot and I'll always use it in game although I gotta say that it's pretty weak. (When will it get an evolution anyways? :P )
When it comes to competitive battling, I try to use Pokémon that I like as well. Which ones have you been using so far?

Oh, I didn't know you could actually choose whether you want to have Kanji or Hiragana in Pokémon games. That's really nice. If I should ever have a lot of free time, I might try to study Japanese for myself. But right now, I'm really busy with university, so I don't have much time for other things, unfortunately. What are you doing? Do you still go to school or do you attend college?

You know, when I received your visitor messages and saw what you replied about the English thing, I had to read it multiple times because it was so nice and heartwarming :D Thank you so much!

Anyways, my key to fluency is... speak the language as often as you can and try to talk to people who have it as a native language. Do something fun in the language, like watch a movie or play a video game. Because if something isn't fun, then how should you learn it? I've always felt that language classes in school are not that useful. I mean for the basics, they're good enough but if you really want to become fluent, using the langauge outside of class is much more efficient. At least in my opinion :D I've also tried to read books in French but it's a lot harder and I lose motivation after some time. I once played Pokémon FireRed in French which was pretty cool actually. I should do this again sometime xD

By the way, what language did your mother speak to you when you were a child?

Well, my mother learned the basics in school and spent some months on Malta afterwards. She also studied English and French in university. I guess, that's where my passion for languages comes from haha.

Oh wow, New York! That's awesome! I badly want to visit that place someday. It must be really cool to live there. (Although, to be honest, I'm more of a nature lover, so I probably wouldn't live there longer than a few years haha.)

I live in Vienna, Austria's capital. I guess, it's a lot smaller than New York, but since I lived most of my life in the country, I'm still not accustomed to it :D

Well thank you! I think that your comments are very thought-provoking as well. Some of the best on the entire forums.
(And sorry for so much text xD)
    i revise my earlier statement

you are not threatened by feminism
you are simply ignorant of what it hopes to achieve

and you are ignorant of what you are talking about
Haha, heres hoping I survive! Lol. I like it so far ^-^ People are nice hahaha.

Uhm, I also like the assassins creed series. I like games that have series actually. How about you?

How're you liking PC so far? And do you play any games other than Pokemon?
Likewise. You're a fresh voice, so don't stop what you do. I think some of my views have been tempered or dulled since I've been here, and I wouldn't - no I don't - have the courage to spit it like you do.
you sound like someone who is either threatened by feminism or has an innate distrust or hatred of it
