Age: 16

Appearance: With a height of five feet four inches, a weight of 117 pounds, and a bust of 80 centimeters, Miriam fits the average size for her age. Her skin is a fair peach, with a few blemishes on her arms and legs. Her face is covered with freckles from cheek to cheek, and she has dimples whenever she smiles. As for her eyes, they're a beautiful shade of copper brown, and complement her freckles well. Her hair is also a darker brown, and she likes to keep it in a single, thick braid spanning from where the middle of her head to her chest. She has no physical oddities, although her fingernails are usually chewed off, and her nose is a bit on the small size.

When it comes to attire, Miriam prefers wearing baggy clothes over tight ones. In public or at home, she'll usually be wearing t-shirts one or two sizes too large. The design, color, and texture doesn't matter too much, although Miriam is a bit partial towards bizarre patterns, such as certain optical illusions. And so her mother wouldn't cause a fuss about color coordinating or "overdoing it", Miriam wears single color sweatpants to go with her shirts. And, like her shirts, her sweatpants are also a bit too big for her, but at the same time, she can wear them without them falling off.

Regarding socks, only plain white ones would do. Anything shorter than knee-length is fine for Miriam, and she doesn't care for ones with rough textures. As for shoes, she's just fine wearing sneakers with two colors. Ones with a plain white or a plain black just don't do. And like other girls her age, Miriam likes accessorizing. It's rare seeing her without a hairband or thin, stretchy bracelet around her arms, and even rarer to see her without one in her hair to keep her braid the way it is. She may occasionally wear rings or necklaces, but she's not too keen on jewelry.

Now, in formal occasions, Miriam will wear a dress, although you'll have to force it on her. The kinds she doesn't mind wearing as much are ones with the collar up near her neck, and the sleeves ending roughly around her elbows. Unlike the other things she tends to wear, texture does matter, and so she's partial towards silk or taffeta dresses. Color also matters, however, Miriam prefers her dresses to consist of a single color, though multiple shades of that color doesn't matter. It's also likely she'll wear short black or white shorts to go under her dress, as her legs tend to hurt if rubbed together with nothing in between. And do not ever try getting Miriam into heels. She'll only wear non-casual sandals at this sort of occasion. You may also find her wearing more jewelry than usual, but she may still have a few hairbands on her arms or her hair in a braid.

Personality: Miriam is very down-to-earth and studious. She takes practically everything seriously, and is not one to engage in conversation. She's proud of her knowledge, and isn't afraid to show what she knows. If someone made a slight error, she'd be quick to correct it whether they like it or not. If someone needs help with a trivia or crossword question, she'll likely know it and give it to them as soon as she hears it. There are still many things Miriam doesn't know, but she believes studying goes a long way.

Like any normal human, Miriam is not without weaknesses. The reason why she's the way she is is due to low self-esteem. When she was younger, she was teased for knowing nothing and having an overactive imagination. Because of this, she took up reading as her main hobby, often locking herself in her room so she wouldn't be bothered. As she grew older, she also grew more nervous whenever she took tests or exams in school. Despite her knowledge, she was a bit of a worrywart, telling herself that everyone would disapprove of her failing. As a result, she often chewed her fingernails to small nubs.

Despite her general personality, Miriam enjoys taking care of younger children. Because they're still somewhat new to the world, Miriam feels it is her duty to educate them about the things around them through play, a side of her rarely seen around anyone older. She also likes running errands for her family or neighbors, although most the time she feels she has to do so because she doesn't want to let them down. This, again, is a self-esteem issue.

And, when it comes to social gatherings, Miriam's very socially awkward. Unless it's someone she's grown up with, it's hard for her to find someone to talk to without feeling weird. While it's easy for her to start up a conversation, she tends to drag on for quite a while, thus boring the person on the receiving end. She's tried practicing in mirrors quite a few times, but has yet to grow better at socializing.

Biography/History: Throughout her entire life, Miriam lived in the quiescent Agate Town, located in the somewhat central northern part of the Orre region. Her parents also grew up there, and weren't too keen on change. Unfortunately for her, there were hardly any residents Miriam's age, let alone a school for her to attend. Thankfully, though, her father was a mechanic and designed a hover car to drive Miriam to a private school located north of Pyrite Town each and every day. During their trips, Miriam would see some wild Pokemon from time to time, although they never seemed to notice her. As anyone native to the Orre region would know, wild Pokemon were rare, and so most trainers were either raised in another region or got their Pokemon through merchants.

A little while after her sixth birthday, news of Team Snagem's hideout blowing up became a big deal around Miriam's house. Nobody in her family had ever had an encounter with them, so her parents and relatives were thankful that they wouldn't have to worry anymore. After a while, when the uproar of Team Snagem's base blowing up had died down, news of Team Cipher came to be. This time, it regarded a special kind of Pokemon known as a "Shadow Pokemon". At the time, Miriam was too young to understand what was so important about this sort of Pokemon, but her mother expressed great interest in it.

After a young male and female had gone around and somehow "snagged" all the Shadow Pokemon available, Miriam's mother took up a job at the Pokemon HQ Lab, located northeast of Agate Village. Every now and then she would bring back samples of her work regarding the Shadow Pokemon. When Miriam was a little bit older and a bit more interested in learning, she took the time to read over what her mother had brought back. And, just like her mother, Miriam soon became interested in these special Pokemon as well.

When Miriam was 16 years of age, the S.S. Libra vanished without a trace. At the time, Miriam was very interested in mysteries, and began speculating all the things that could've happened to it. A week later, she borrowed a hover bike from her dad and began to explore the region of Orre, something she hadn't done before. The only things she brought with her were copies of the information her mother brought home from work, a few snacks, quite a bit of cash in case she needed to stock up on supplies or find someplace to sleep, and a couple of books to read.

During Miriam's travels, she saw more and more wild Pokemon than she had when she was younger. She later read an article about a man named "Duking" discovering hotspots for wild Pokemon, and decided to check them out. Sure enough, there were many Pokemon at each of these hotspots, but Miriam had nothing to catch them with. After observing the wild Pokemon for a few days, Miriam went back to traveling the Orre region. She ended up all over the map--Gateon Port, Phenac City, you name it.

One day, there was a rather big sandstorm. Miriam was smart to pack goggles and a hat to wear to protect herself from it, but it was hard to see anything. Eventually, she came across a large silhouette unlike anything she had ever seen before. Without any other landmarks for her to go to, she headed in the direction of this silhouette. To her surprise, it was the missing ship. For the time being, she decided to explore what remained of it. As expected, there was nothing but cargo. However, when she got to what would be the surface, she saw a man napping in the navigation room. To make sure he wouldn't notice her, she went back down and spent the night sleeping by the cargo.

As soon as the sandstorm finally calmed a little, Miriam decided it was time to head back home. She made a pit stop at the Outskirt stand, and then spent another night in Pyrite Town before finally heading home. She shared her travel experiences with her family, and decided that she would become just like her mother when she was old enough. In the end, she followed reports of a young boy taking down the revitalized Team Cipher, who were once again making Shadow Pokemon like there was no tomorrow. Reports of new moves used by these Pokemon came in, and so Miriam did her best to keep up with what was going on. For her, learning new things was her life, and it always would be.

Lisa is 5', 01" tall and weighs 105 pounds. She is light-skinned with long, dark brown hair. She prefers to wear dresses and skirts, along with pantyhose and dress shoes. She almost always wears a white wide-brim hat with a purple ribbon and bow trim. She does have one outfit that she wears more often than most, and this has become her trademark: A blue dress with a purple and green floral print, a green button-up blouse that she wears over her dress, and a pair of white pantyhose. Often she will also wear a gold necklace with her name on it.

Lisa has genius-level intelligence and a keen interest in mathematics, science, and technology. She is quite wealthy because of several successful business ventures. She concerns herself with fashion, but would rather use her own style rather than follow current trends. She has interests in classic cars, anime, and the lodging/hospitality industry. She listens to soft/adult contemporary pop ballads and contemporary Christian music, mostly from the late eighties and early nineties.

Although she doesn't feel the need to spend exhorbitant amounts of money on unnecessary luxuries, Lisa still enjoys the good life, and the prospect of "roughing it" terrifies her. She habitually seeks out good-quality hotels whenever she travels, and eats at casual-dining restaurants. Lisa is a perfectionist, but she is known to become whiny and complain incessantly if things do not go her way, particularly if she cannot sleep in comfort.

Lisa can also become quite emotional whenever she fails at something, tending to over-react. This includes Pokemon battles, as she breaks down emotionally if defeated. She does have a good heart, and takes care of her Pokemon. It is usually her Pokemon that act as her moral support during tough times. She also has a bad habit of squeezing, fidgeting and pulling her clothes when she is nervous or stressed.

She owns two cars - a 1989 Chevrolet Caprice LS Brougham sedan she inherited from her parents, and a 1989 Buick Electra Estate Wagon she purchased later on.

Born and raised in the Upstate region of South Carolina, Lisa moved to a Pokemon-rich region only after turning 15, which explains her late start as a trainer. With her intelligence, she was able to skip several grades in school and in fact holds a college degree.

It was her parents (both successful business owners) who had to convince Lisa, in a not-so gentle way, to begin training Pokemon, and she was reluctant to do so at first. Her first Pokemon was a Meowth, who she met during a crisis at the local Pokemon lab. She then encountered the man who could be considered to be her "rival," a former employee of her parents who had served prison time for fraud. At the ripe old age of 67, he was starting his Pokemon journey too, but for the much more nefarious purpose of exacting revenge against Lisa's family. A wild Koffing assisted her in defeating the man, and Koffing joined her team.

Very early on in her journey, Lisa ran afoul of a fanatical cult of terrorists. Fortunately, she also ran into Lorelei, who had quit the Kanto Elite Four to become a Special Agent for the Pokemon League's Investigation Unit, who assisted her and also explained the group's motives and tactics. Lorelei would later give Lisa a Spheal in order to be better prepared for what was ahead for the teen.

As Lisa ventured on, she added a Beldum, Trapinch, and Jolteon to her team along the way. She recieved some harsh life lessons, such as her first taste of defeat, many more skirmishes with the criminal organization and she was forced to sleep outside for the first time since a summer camp experience that she claims scarred her for life. But also, she made new friends, took down the terrorist group, and earned all the region's badges and placed fourth in the league tournament, where the flu sidelined her. And during this time, she warmed up to the idea of training Pokemon, and became quite close to them.

After the Pokemon League, Lisa returned to college for a graduate degree, but she chose a school in the same region that she had journeyed through, so she could have her Pokemon on campus. She battled, mostly for fun, against other students and even a few professors.

After her first semester, she was accosted by Lorelei to become a Special Agent for the Pokemon League's Investigation Unit. She accepted this offer and currently engages in investigations and missions while juggling classes and a teaching job. Her party currently consists of her starter, Persian, as well as Weezing, Metagross, Walrein, Jolteon, and Flygon.
