  • Lily: Oh No both Solstice and Elwind have fallen. Solstice seemed particularly insistent that this Ice Cream will hurt the purple dragon. I should throw this Ice Cream at the Dragon as I know Dragons do not like the cold.

    Lily moves to D16 and throws Suspicious Ice Cream at Swamp Lord Sligoo.

  • Hmm so the 4th move remains a mystery but he's now out of Dragon Breath. Lily moving to use Ice Cream is now in motion and Alex can help keep Sliggoo there by using Bite to see if we can't flinch the boss. Priscilla is going after the item but she won't be able to reach it this round. However, its not the end of the world because I don't think we're going to do 163 damage to Sliggoo so Priscilla can get the item in Round 11.

    Dusk will be biting Litwick-B again and WooWoo should use his last use of Night Shade to finish the Ghost Pokemon off. If Dusk gets burned from Flame Body, Susato is nearby to possibly heal it with its ability. If not, Susato can do w/e(maybe attack that Annoying Tree in Round 11 after moving to J13 this round). Nah sits in a lawn chair(its what I'd do) while Dawn and Rinnia sprint to F13 and G13 respectively so that in Round 11 you can both attack Sliggoo with a Helping boost from Dusk. WooWoo in Round 11 will sprint to E-15 so if it takes to Round 12 to remove the boss that you can use Disable on it to prevent it from attacking again. Looking at what damage we will be doing, its highly plausible it will take that long lol. Anyways, good luck everyone. We should win this but it might take a few rounds.

  • Heh well it has Flame Body so doesn't that mean it should be known now on Litwick's profile or is that a waste of time when WooWoo is going to KO it? In any case Susato can move to J13 and still be there to potentially heal that burn(and if Susato is wondering why I suggest moving to J13 is because if Susato doesn't heal the burn in Round 10, he will be tasked to sticking to Dusk like glue and Dusk's next move is to give a Helping Hand boost from either G14 or G12 and therefore won't be able to keep up with Dusk from his present position). Almost wish we had a Rawst Berry since that would solve this problem. Would have thought the Ice Cream would do more though. 15 damage from a Super Effective non-stab Attack... yeah this is going to take awhile lmao. Suppose 24 Poison Damage makes up for that though if Sliggoo doesn't remove it.

    Also, you(Lycan) moved to that opening to attack Elwind and Solstice with Dragon Breath. Would we like to gang up with as many Pokémon as possible? Pretty sure everyone would agree with yes but Nah has no offensive attacks save for Take Down that deals recoil and WooWoo has no offensive moves left either. If Sliggoo has Sap Sipper, then Lily has no means of hurting it with Grass moves once her Ice Cream is exhausted. That leaves Priscilla(who's preoccupied with getting the last item), Rinnia, Alex(for how long he lasts), Susato and the Eevolutions. Susato and Rinnia are the only ones with a Super Effective move(with Rinnia's the only one with STAB). With so few able to attack effectively, pinning you into a corner is tactically a prudent move since you can only attack one of us at a time with Bubble. With no Dragon Breath or another move that attacks in a line, it allows at least two of us to attack you(three if you end up having Hydration ability).

    Following is in the event people forget to post moves. These final rounds should be relatively quick with so few participants left.

    I should point out that we have until Round 13 to heal that Burn or KO the boss. If neither are accomplished by the end of Round 13, Dusk will fall from Burn Damage since Enemy Phase is when Poison or Burn Damage is applied to us. Meaning after our turn is over in Round 10, Dusk will take 8 damage every turn until he faints unless Susato heals it via his ability. So we have Round 10, 11, 12 and 13 to heal the burn or KO the boss. If not, a NPC falls. Right now, Sliggoo has 148 HP after being "stabbed"(so not Rated G) with Ice Cream. The Poison should deal 24 damage if it's not removed at the end of Sliggoo's turn but if my suspicion is correct, Sliggoo has Rain Dance and Hydration ability. When activating Rain Dance, all status effects are healed thanks to Hydration ability. That means Sliggoo will avoid the Poison Damage that would hasten it's defeat. However, if it has Sap Sipper instead, the Poison Damage will tear through quickly. Alex will be using Bite with the hopes of flinching the boss. If he can, it'll make taking Sliggoo down all the easier but a flinch outcome is a lot to ask for. As for damage, I estimate 5-10 due to the boosted defense and non-STAB nature of Bite. Assuming the low end, that drops him to 143 HP.

    Assuming I'm right about Rain Dance and Hydration, Lily can harm the boss after exhausting her Ice Cream. Barring a miss, she can be counted on dealing another 15-20 damage. Assuming it's another 15 damage, that drops Sliggoo to 128. Rinnia and Dawn will be getting a Helping Hand in Round 11 to launch two Special attacks in Disarming Voice and Confusion respectively. Combined, I'd wager that they'll do about 50 damage since Sliggoo has high Special Defense. Alex will tack on another 10 or so since Sliggoo's Acid Armor will have worn off. So that'd be an estimated 60 damage that would drop Sliggoo to 68 HP. In Round 12, Dusk can give another Helping Hand to not only Rinnia and Dawn but Alex as well. Combined, they ought to deal another 65 or so damage with Lily possibly doing enough damage to faint the boss with a NVE Absorb. Granted, I may be a bit optimistic on our damage potential but it's plausible that we might KO the boss before we hit the make or break point of Round 13.

    However, if Susato heals the burn or Alex gets lucky with a flinch, then we won't have to worry about finishing Sliggoo off in time.

    :t037:: Recommend doing another poke since I'm too lazy to do it myself seeing as it's coming up on 72 hour mark for Round 10. We only have four attacks going down while everyone else is sprinting or taking a back seat as the battle winds down. Will be a bit more active in Round 11 and I'm curious to see what that fourth move is.

  • Hey everyone, quick question in-between! Since there aren't many too exciting things happening in the battle right now, now might be a good time to discuss the future of this game (while the remaining people try to kill that Sliggoo). I would love to hear your opinions on what to do with Fire Type Emblem.

    As you may have noticed, the game has grown big. I designed the concept with ~8 players in mind (heck, I even discussed a possible backup plan with some people here in case nobody would be interested xD ). More people is more fun, but with this amount of players certain disadvantages come to rise as well: the map can get really crowded (and therefore people might lose the overview) and battles take a long time to complete with the result that it's possible you have to wait seven rounds before your character gets back up). As I see it, we have three options on how to continue FTE. (But I love to hear your ideas as well!)

    Option 1: One story, one map: nothing changes and we'll just muddle along as we're all used to.
    Pros: We can all play together.
    Cons: We battle on a crowded map, I will need split updates over two posts again, chapters will be long, and we're at the maximum amount of players the game can handle.

    Option 2: One story, two maps: At the start of each chapter, everyone gets to choose between, say, entering the Ice Cave or the Fire Cave, meaning there are two simultaneous battles going on at a time. After the battles, everyone comes together in the camp. For the next battle, the party again splits in two (possibly different) groups.
    Pros: More manageable groups, players can still adventure with everyone
    Cons: Since I like to make each battle/map feel unique, this might drain my inspiration rather quickly. Intermissions will take notably longer (this might go for updates as well). This also means you cannot possibly enjoy every map and you might have to wait for the other map to finish first.

    Option 3: Two stories, two maps: The group is split in two adventuring parties, playing the same story separately.
    Pros: More manageable groups, you can play on every map, shorter battles, update schedule (probably) comparable with "Option 1".
    Cons: You won't be playing with everyone, it might be tempting to peek at the other team (spoilers!), you will still need to wait for the other party to finish the map, we will need to go through the trouble of dividing all players and items fairly in two, two similar universes might confuse your game master occasionally (but I'll manage, no worries).

    EDIT: There's a poll now, so be sure to fill that in. But obviously I would love to hear your thoughts as well here in the thread. :)

    I kinda like all the options though 2 and 3 stand out to me the most. I say with 2 and we all split in two groups on two different maps each group needs to get something, someone or info for the group to return to camp. And then use it for the next round if we have one after that. Or even have a traitor or two among us that turns on everyone.

You wouldn't have to make either map too different from each other (because that would drain anyone's inspiration haha); they can be more or less the same terrain but with different layouts, maybe? As well as different objectives. For example, perhaps one map requires a rescue mission / something that advances the story, and the other could be a standard "rout the enemy" map, useful for collecting items and grinding against tough opponents.

    I mean, we don't want to miss out on cool maps, right? :) There won't be that feeling if the biome stays the same.

    Intermissions will take notably longer (this might go for updates as well). This also means you cannot possibly enjoy every map and you might have to wait for the other map to finish first.

    Hmm... If this becomes the case, maybe the people waiting at camp could choose to join their teammates as reinforcements?

For example, perhaps one map requires a rescue mission / something that advances the story, and the other could be a standard "rout the enemy" map, useful for collecting items and grinding against tough opponents.

    I mean, we don't want to miss out on cool maps, right? :) There won't be that feeling if the biome stays the same.

    Hmm... If this becomes the case, maybe the people waiting at camp could choose to join their teammates as reinforcements?

    I'd hold off on the Quick Attack seeing as you have a better move in your arsenal(*cough* Confusion *cough*). Anyways, here's how I see Round 11. Firstly, Dusk moves to G12 and gives Rinnia and Dawn a Helping Hand. This will boost their Special Attack considerably and with Sliggoo obviously having Sap Sipper for an ability(since it's Absorb for the fourth move and not Rain Dance), Lily won't be able to attack after this round. Therefore WooWoo will sprint to E15 with plans to Disable the last Attack used by Sliggoo. Alex will back off to D13 and use Quick Attack while Rinnia moves to his spot to use a Disarming Voice. Dawn settles in behind Alex and uses Confusion from D12. Lily stays and uses her last Ice Cream to deal more Ice Damage and refresh the Poison. Priscilla moves to Q18 to grab the item before sprinting back to N17. Susato moves to H12 and uses Disarming Voice on the Tree because why not lol(Ability requires being near Dusk). Finally Nah sits back and does whatever she wants.

    As for FTE, I like the large group nature of it, hence I'm leaning towards Option#1 but I understand the issues with updates taking days and the fact it takes two posts just to do one update. Hence if I was pressed into picking an option, it would be option#2. We're all in this muck together but if we have to split up, it's for the same purpose.
