    wat do??????

So, suppose that your favourite section (which you may or may not want to mod yourself) needed a mod, and the member which you absolutely did not want modded in there has just been promoted. What are your reactions? Do you go on a massive ragefest, or even ragequit? Do you complain to higher staff? Do you leave the section and find a new one (or even leave the place altogether), or do you carry on as if nothing had ever happened? And how do you feel about the whole situation?

    I'd probably carry on as if nothing had happened. I mean, there would be no point in making a big fuss over it since nothing would actually happen. They wouldn't demote them because I disliked them. I'd probably feel pissed about the whole thing. It would probably die down within a few days though. \;

This is like the greatest thread in OVP History. Anyhow, I'd probably grimace a bit, but not take it too badly, chances are, they'd be an awful mod if they were such a bad user, so I'd probably steer clear of the section and let them self destruct. B)

Thankfully, my least favorite poster here doesn't have access to HQ. So I'll go with my second favorite forum.

Uhh, since I'm part of h-staff, I would probably be trying my best to fight it in their modding thread. Simply because, if I don't like a poster, it's for good reason. Their posts aren't very good, are obnoxious, or aren't befitting to the forum or my ideal of what the moderator should represent. I wouldn't know what the other h-staff would be thinking to agree to such a thing, and be trying desperately to work that out in my head.

I'd still post there, though. I'd assume they'd end up getting demodded eventually, anyway.

Eeeww. They wouldn't last so I'd just continue. The person is completely judgmental and all the H-Staff I know doesn't like him, for good reason. His posts are terrible and he shoots down nearly every idea in the suggestions forum.

Currently, there is no one I really dislike at PC. Haven't been around long enough to develop any enemies. At least, not on my half. It would also take a lot to make someone my least favourite poster. I don't really.. have feelings of hate. If that makes any sense? I don't... get mad? Anyway, my favorite section is the Other Chat. So much provocative discussions!

Now, assuming there is someone that I dislike, and assuming they did get modded to the OC, I would.. just not care. What could I do? I highly doubt a petition would fly here, especially one to get someone demodded. Not just that, but it is the mature thing to do. You don't need to like someone to discuss/work/whatever with them. When you realize that, life get's a whole lot easier.

I'd just get over it. What's the use in complaining and raging about something like that? The only thing that will really change after they're modded is they can now not only post in my favorite section, but also lock and move threads... which doesn't change much of anything as far as I'm concerned.

I'd get over it... If I really cared about a certain forum then I wouldn't have a member I hated get in the way of my own chances.

I don't see why I would stop posting in a forum I love to post in already just cause a certain person was staffed there, even if I didn't have the greatest relationship with them. I don't hold animosity or hatred toward anyways so as long as they are level headed and don't tend to be overly biased about their decisions then I really don't care who they are.

Usually people who I am too not fond of their posting are ones who belittle, degrade, and generally shoot down other peoples posts, opinions, ideas and so on. So I kind of doubt they would get staffed in the first place so I don't really have any worries about something like that happening anyways.

I'd suck it up and congratulate them anyway, and maybe try to work through whatever problem I have with them, because I think it's important to get along with those you work alongside, so yeah. This has happened before actually. Not in my favorite section, but the other part yeah. lol

Pretty much this, minus the "working alongside" part, since I'm not a mod. XD

Additionally, I pretty much feel that if the staff decided to mod that person, they must have decided he was qualified and the right person for the job, so there would be no point in complaining about it. At least, it wouldn't make ME feel any better. XD

Right so Imma answer this question without thinking of a specific person.

I would watch their movements like a hawk, call them out on their mistakes, and make sure that the forum is being looked after properly. Because if I don't like them as a person, I'm going to be wary of how they do as a mod. If they do well as a mod then there's no reason to complain; I'll suck it up and continue to do what I normally do in that forum. However, if they're not a good mod... that's a completely different thing. I'm gonna talk to them about their actions and if they don't heed what I am saying, it's going to h-staff. Hopefully I'll be agreed with, etc.

Short version: My personal feelings do not matter if they are a good mod.

I'm going to join the party that says "if I don't like them in the first place it's probably for good reason". But hey, if it's for personal reasons and they are a really fabulous mod and deserve the position, then congrats to them! I might still not like reading their posts but really, it's an internet forum and you really shouldn't dislike a person in power so much as to deter you from their entire section. Now if they have a personal grudge against you and abuse their power in such a way (although I believe H-Staff have generally removed most of the powers mods can abuse in the first place) then yeaaah, I have an issue, but otherwise they earned their job and if they keep it props to them. It won't deter me from posting and stuff though.

I actually went through a situation like this before, except it was [your least favorite candidate for AA] has been promoted in the spot you wanted. :p If how that went is any indication of how I'd react now, it will probably go like this:

    1) Congratulate them in a passive-aggressive way.
    2) Whine on MSN to people you trust about how you are SO MAD OMG.
    3) Don't get over it for months at least.

Which really is embarrassing for everyone involved. :(

These days, I'd like to say that I'm chill enough that while I would be upset, that I would be calmer about it and try my best not to let it get through my enjoyment of PC. Even in the past, when I was a lot worse about handling these things, I still came on PC and did my job. One person I dislike getting a mod spot somewhere I like isn't going to ruin PC forever for me. But there will probably still be whining somewhere, although these days probably Twitter instead of MSN.

I'd subtly whine about it for about a month or two and then forget about it, but whenever I seem them post, I'd probably think that they don't deserve the position and put aside the fact that they may be a good mood. I'm superficial like that, I guess.
This has happened a few times before and not naming name, sometimes those people still drive me crazy because I still don't like them. I don't like them for a good reason, because they're terrible posters and are extremely biased. But as I said, not naming names and staying neutral ;3
My moaning isn't going to get them demoted anyway, so whats the point of doing it?

I'd probably be a little down at first, but at the same time, I'll congratulate the new moderator for getting that promotion. I'm not one of those people that rage because of a person I hate got promoted. That doesn't stop me from being active on that particular board, though.

lol I don't really believe that anybody who has posted in here thus far would react as level-headedly as they seem to think they would.

If a member I actively disliked was made a mod in my favourite section, I think I would find a new favourite section. I might not openly rage about it, because that's how unnecessary drama starts, but there's no way I would stay there and watch them smugly be in a position of power over me. It would anger me quite a bit, and I think if I stayed there I wouldn't be able to restrain myself from making passive-aggressive comments that would create drama that would paint me in a bad light.

Patchipoopoo loves C&M too much he would never allow an idiot to moderate it. I cannot even picture this happening.

I wouldn't do anything. Continue posting as normal and if the mod starts doing stupid crap then I'd just complain to highers. Just because I don't like them doesn't mean they won't be able to mod okay.
