    Once upon a time, there were stars of peculiar patterns in the sky. Together, these stars could create the grand star, which is used to summon the legendary Pok?mon of the sun, and the legendary Pok?mon of the moon.

    The stars' power was transferred to 12 distinct trainers, who wore birthmarks resembling the patterns of these stars. Thus, these 12 trainers were then known to all as The Signers.

    According to legend, these signer exist together by a thread of fate, for them to watch and protect the world, a fate that is inescapable.


    You're a new trainer from the Alola region who has one of these distinct birthmarks on their arm or hand. You're a descendant of one of the legendary signers! However, you might not think much of it at the time, as it's the arrival of the Alolan Festival, a competition who will crown the new Champion of Alola. You're all set to get your new partner Pok?mon, and travel throughout the islands of Alola!

    However, as evil and darkness looms, your destiny will soon be recognized. How will you deal with your fate? What adventures will you have with your friends, and your rivals? Your destiny is in your hands...

    The Alola region is made up of four islands. Alola is surrounded by the sea. It has a diverse ecology made up of Pok?mon that have lived as natives of the Alola region for generations, along with Pok?mon that have more recently arrived in Alola from other regions.

    Each of the four islands has a Pok?mon called a guardian deity. These Pok?mon are collectively called the tapu, and they are worshiped by the people. The kahunas who serve as leaders of each island are chosen by these island guardians.

    The Alola region also hosts the island challenge. The island challenge is a rite of passage in the Alola region consisting of trials on each of Alola's four main islands. Each trial has a Trial Captain who provides guidance to Trainers undertaking a trial. At the end of the trial is a special battle challenge pitting trainers against a very powerful Totem Pok?mon. The final trial is called the Grand Trial, where the trainer battles against the Island Kahuna of the island themselves.

    The island challenge this year will also feature points! In this RP, through your dedication, diligence, creativity, and activity via your posts, your character will be awarded a various number of points.

    Rules & Regulations

    Respect should always be given! As fellow RPers in this game, we should all work together to ensure that we all have the most fun and positive atmosphere that we can possibly have. So, please give others the respect that you would like to be given in return!

    Rating is T for teen, so, descriptions of violence and romance should be kept on a decently tasteful level, something that a modest age group audience could enjoy.

    Try to post at least once every 7 days. So before you consider joining here, you need to make that effort to keep your activity constant! If it's not within your power to post within 7 days, let me know beforehand and I can give you an extension! Otherwise, I'll have to free up your slot for someone else.

    There are no levels in this RP. So, how pokemon learn new moves or evolves is by your own prerogative. That being said, try to be realistic and subtle with this; for example, a Dratini couldn't really evolve into a Dragonite in a very small amount of time

    Wait for each new area! Don't really go off on your own to further areas until I show each area at a time. This is just to keep things less confusing and more organized for you.​



    F.A.Q:

    Q. How do we get points in this RP?
    A. There are a number of factors, how early you post for events, your creativity, and so on! You'll learn more as the RP goes on.

    Q. What are these 'birthmarks'?
    A. Basically they are shaped like constellations of the zodiac. That means they are called: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.

    Q. Can we make up NPCs and control any existing ones?
    A. You can make up NPCs as you see fit, as well as play as characters like Gym leaders and such for your posts.

    Q. What's the bare minimum for activity?
    A. At least 1 post every 7 days. I'll remind you to try and keep up activity if you're behind, but, just keep that in mind.

    Q. Something came up and I can't post the minimum. What should I do?
    A. You should contact me as soon as possible so we can arrange an extension. I'm pretty lenient on this regard, so, most likely I'll honor your request. But, don't take it too likely; if your inactivity becomes a constant pattern, then your spot will most likely be freed up for someone else.

    Q. Can we do a joint point from time to time?
    A. Yes you may, but you also don't have to; you can also interact freely between posts instantly; it's up to you.

    Q. How do we capture pokemon?
    A. You don't have to wait for me to give approval; you can just capture pokemon however way you want to, but, try and not go overboard or overeager with this!

    Q. How do we evolve pokemon?
    A. Be sure to post in the OOC thread if you want a specific pokemon to evolve. If it looks good, I'll give you the OK for you to write up a simple post or event, however you want to do it, when your pokemon evolves.

    A powerful resource for battle in the Alola Region are the Z-Moves. Z-Moves can only be done if the trainer has a Z-Ring, and a Z-Gem of any type. You perform Z-Moves by doing a particular dance with your pokemon, then your pokemon will release their powerful Z-Move, however you can only do this once per battle.

    Your character in particular might notice that their birthmark glows while the Z-Move is performed!

    Appearance

    Will stands at a height of 5'11". His hair is black as midnight, save for one tuft of it which he keeps dyed white for some unknown reason. He sports a lightly tanned skin complexion and piercing, cerulean-blue eyes as well. Will's body is somewhat slender in build. That is to say that he is not thin as a rail, however. His body is still somewhat toned with lean muscle, mostly attributed to his active lifestyle and hobby of swimming. Despite his somewhat pleasant and jovial demeanor, Will tends to dress a little bit more on the punkish-side. His clothes are usually somewhat worn, usually with various snags and snares in his pants and shirts. No matter what he wears, Will does not consider his outfit complete without his favorite, white hat and his earring. When traveling, Will carries his various trainer supplies in a black and red backpack. He sports a birthmark shaped like the constellation of Leo on the back of his left shoulder.

    History

    Will was born and raised in the Alola region, particularly living in the city of Hau'oli on Melemele Island. He is the only child of his family, his mother owning a rather fancy boutique located inside of the city's shopping mall, while his father makes his living as a police officer at the local precinct. One would think that Will grew up a bit spoiled during his childhood. Because his family was relatively well off, he was often gifted most anything a child could ever ask for. However, the boy was often very well behaved given his social status within the city. In fact, he spent most of his time away from his home and his personal belongings, choosing to enjoy time out under the beautiful Alolan sun. When he was not hanging out on the beach of Hau'oli City, the mall, or in the coffee shop of the Pok?mon Center, Will could be found attending the local Pok?mon Trainer's school. An astute student, Will often held very well grades within the academy.

    That is not to say that Will's life was all sunshine and rainbows, however. The boy was often viewed by his peers under a very skewed light. Many of them often saw him as having a very easy life based on his family's success in life and his social status. In fact, many rumors even circled around that his success in school was due to the teachers of the academy trying to suck up to possibly earn various rewards and privileges that they otherwise may not have access too. Despite Will's rather laid back and easy-going attitude, it did not take too much longer before all that pressure and the rumors began to pile up, causing him to be filled with a great deal of stress. His parents seemed to notice this too, and tried their best to help him. At first, they tried to send him to various councilors. When that did not work, they did the worst thing imaginable and tired to give him gifts and more comforts in life. That too seemed to blow up in their face, often causing Will to become the target of more rumors and endure more talking behind his back. Eventually Will realized that if he was ever going to prove himself to this world, he would have to take matters into his own hands.

    Upon his seventeenth birthday, Will decided that he would undergo the island challenge. With only a note to his parents, Will set off on his grand adventure, accompanied with only the bare essentials and his childhood friend, a Rockruff named Terra, by his side.

    Strengths

    Will is a rather upbeat and positive thinker. He very rarely seems to be seen without a smile on his face, nor is he one to ever count himself down and out. Never to let anything worry him, Will approaches his problems with a calm and collected mindset. If anything, one could call Will determined. He never gives up once he sets his mind to accomplishing something, often determining that impossibility is nothing more than just an increased difficulty. A rather charming and smooth talker, Will is able to use more than battles to accomplish his goals. While not necessarily a practical strength, Will is quite skilled at playing the guitar. In fact, he can often be seen playing one during his downtime when trying to relax.

    Weaknesses

    Will tends to be rather arrogant and full of himself at times. He tends to put himself above others, often underestimating those around him. While he does approach things calm and collected, Will seems to have trouble taking things seriously. He never seems to be without a quick joke or snide comment to make, and he never seems to have a problem letting these comments just slip from his mouth either. If Will had one weakness however, it would definitely be those of the opposite sex. When Will sees a woman that strikes his fancy, he will do everything in his power to try and charm and win them over to his side. Compliments, flirts, and nicknames of adoration, there is nothing that the young man is not willing to try. To make matters even more awkward, Will tends to ignore most males. He often deems them to be not even worth his time.

    Prudence carries a pale tan complexion that lets her emerald green eyes leap out, like gems buried in sand. Freckles dot underneath her eyes, marks she had always been proud to carry from her perished mother. Another trait she carries is her bright copper hair, puffy by nature and cascading down to her waist. Rarely does she play around with her hair, either loose to flow or tied up in a messy bun, small strings of hair flying about. Holding her hair above her left eye is a small, rose-colored bow. She stands at 5' 3", weighing in at around 120 pounds.

    Her white v-neck shirt proudly lets the small bloody-heart insignia stand out, where a chest pocket would normally rest. Its short sleeves contrast with the white, a solid ashy gray. Dividing her shirt and white shorts that manage to cover just past her knees is her gray belt. Ending her outfit are her red slippers that match both her insignia and bow.

    History: Nothing much can be said that's out of the ordinary. She had a comfortable life, oldest out of a family of six, responsibility, parents adored her, had dreams to become a trainer (albeit much later than she had planned), and there she went to venture off into the unknown, something her parents couldn't do. So... they gave her a good amount of money, helped her settle in the luxurious-sounding islands, and constantly keep in touch with her.

    Strengths: Prudence is an outgoing character who is willing to start up a chat with anybody in her close vicinity. Because of this, she feels most comfortable in an area where people are around, or Pok?mon at the very least. nothing wrong with chatting off an essay to them, right? . Very open with what she talks about, she is also quirky and not afraid to thread on opinions opposite from her own.

    Some ambition runs in her veins, giving her the ability to continue persevering despite the obstacles that may stand in her way. However, she also carries a realistic mindset, which tends to stop her when the odds are highly stacked against her favor. As a result, she isn?t what you would call a ?dreamer,? for she tends to make goals and decisions that don?t appear like fantasies. Tying nicely to this trait is her patience, which rarely has been broken... other than the occasional fly she is unable to swat with her hands.

    Weaknesses: While she may be social and willing to accept anyone as a comrade, that doesn?t mean she?s easy to decipher. How she acts and what comes out of her mouth contradicts with her thoughts. This was a result of her idea that harming or ill intentions could be kept shut inside her, slowly festering for her to release as she pleases on an unsuspecting object.

    Prudence is a clumsy woman who is oblivious to her surroundings. Because of taking everything literally, she may not notice sarcasm or hidden innuendos, later leading to misunderstanding and misinterpretations. She is also clingy and jealous, the former of which she isn?t afraid to show, while the latter is kept locked away for nobody to see. The habit of hiding doesn?t end there, for it also extends to her negative emotions. Afraid for others to see her at her worst, she tends to prefer releasing negative emotions, whether frustration of depression, on her own. This leads to her wearing a false mask of positivity when around company.

    She also carries a complacent personality, able to settle for anything. This stems from her idea that her situation could carry more defects, thus why she may be stubborn to change in fear of making it worse.

    Pour a glass of water onto a table, and you'll see how mutable water flows into every comer. With no walls to contain it, Pisces, like this water, bonds itself emotionally to whatever is exposed. This is the source of Pisces' well-deserved reputation for compassion. It is also the source of a tendency to escape reality. Planets in this sign are ultra sensitive, feeling anything and everything. They're psychic sponges that often need time alone to unload and reassemble themselves. Exposure to others, especially crowds, is exhausting co your Pisces planet. It's in tins sign that you may find a tendency to cake in stray people and animals, but also where you?ll need to watch for the possibility of being victimized or taken advantage of in some way. Pisces planets are not known for their realistic view of the world?they see the best in any person or situation?but when reality steps in they sometimes can be disappointed- These planets are the romantics of the zodiac. Let them dream in healthy ways.​

    Appearance: Chira's skin is pretty dark, and her hair medium long and raven black. However, she most often keeps it braided and put up in a knot, so it doesn't fall down on her shoulders. Her big eyes are of an alert blue shade that make them stand out against her darker features. She is also slightly... squishy and round. Not so much that you would call her fat, but you could likely easily pick out what kids had been running around Poni island or helping out on boats all their life, and what girl had mostly been sitting in front of her computer. She also is quite short, compared to most girls her age.

    Starting her journey, Chira wears a red t-shirt with a big bow/knot at the front. It's printed with pastel yellow and pink flowers. She also red chinos and long black boots, and carries her stuff in a beige leather backpack. She wears a large pair of slightly rectangular, bright red glasses. She isn't extremely dependent on them, but is slightly far-sighted. As such, she usually puts the glasses up to rest on her head above her bangs, but when she is drawing, writing or looking through her camera, she puts them down.

    History: Born on Poni Island, actually on the island rather than on board a boat, Chira was said to be cursed from birth with bad luck. The seafolks were as good as always born on their boats, feeling the waves of the ocean carry the weight of their new lives immediately upon taking their first breath in this world. But Chira took her first breaths on land. While the seafolk was generally kind and accepting of all sorts of people, their traditions and superstition still held a too tight grasp over them; Chira grew up knowing that she was slightly odd. Could she ever be true seafolk?

    One day a couple of years ago, Chira was forced out on a trip into the Vast Poni Canyon with her classmates from the seafolk village school. They ended up tricking her to get lost, and she ran into an agitated Salandit who chased her around until the exhausted girl suddenly ran into her classmates again. Initially laughing at her, the other kids were soon driven off by a now even angrier Salandit though. Chira interpreted it as the wild pok?mon either seeing the injustice and deciding to do what was right - or simply not liking noisy human kids. It turned out to be a mixture of both. Salandit preferred to be the one making the pranks and pick victims who deserved it, and she definitely hated noisy kids. Chira told her parents about the encounter, and they encouraged her to go back and try to capture it. Most other people her age had one or more partner pok?mon already, even if they weren't trainers. With the kind trainer Hapu's help, Chira managed to capture the Salandit, who eventually warmed up to the girl and started protecting her, be it from other humans or from pok?mon.

    Strengths:
    Plenty artistic. While Chira enjoyed playing outdoors just as much as the other kids, they didn't enjoy playing with her much. Instead, Chira learned to enjoy herself on her own. She started drawing a lot at an early age, and when she received a camera on her 8th birthday, she started taking pictures of absolutely everything. Still today, she carries a good camera with her in her bag wherever she goes, and documents as much as she can with it.

    As a person, Chira is also focused and easily motivated. She has her sight set on the goal and is a hard worker when she wants to be. She claims to be scientific in her ways, and consider logic and reasoning over emotion. This is reflected in the way she battles with pok?mon - to start off with. In more intense battles, it is possible that hidden emotional sides of her will emerge.

    She likes for things to be as fair as they possibly can be, and loves to discuss and resolve injustices. Perhaps this is stemming from having been treated so unfairly as a child, and wanting nobody else to suffer from it.​

    Weaknesses:
    Despite praising logic, the present, and sound reasoning, Chira can be overcome with emotion in general, as well as worries and fears about the future. She is also horrible with numbers, really seeing digits as artistic shapes rather than as numbers or text.

    She has always had a bit of trouble sleeping, and has recurring nightmares about the deep ocean. Thankfully not too often, though.

    She has a strong phobia for dark and deep waters, see. Especially the ocean itself. Being on a boat is bearable only because it feels like home, but looking down into the waters themselves will paralyze her with fear. She dreams of one day acquiring the partnership of a flying Ride pok?mon of some kind, which can fly her between the islands of Alola without having to be near the water.

    As average members of the seafolk, the La'Lua family was never really rich, and it was a wonder even that they managed to get her such fancy glasses for her last birthday, as well as quality boots to walk in on her island challenge journey. She will likely not be able to buy fancy pok?mon medicines or items unless she manages to win pok?mon battles or earn money in other ways.​

    Appearance: Haru's height is average for an 18 year old. Her hair is dark brown and becomes wavy near the end. It reaches to her hips from the back and front to her bosoms. Her bangs end near her mouth with a little curve at the end and another bang covers her forehead and curves to her right, above her right eye. Her eyes are forest green and her skin is a tad bit darker than normal. Her clothes consist of a white blouse, sleeveless light blue jean jacket, semi-short jeans(end at her knees), grayish leggings(end below her knees), and light blue and white sneakers. She tends to carry around her black and light green shoulder bag with her everywhere she goes. On her right wrist is two bead bracelets, one light green and another yellow. Her hairband is light blue with a white and light blue bow etched to the right side. Her zodiac birthmark is located on the back of her left hand.

    History: She was born on Heahea City, Akala Island, into a family of richies. Ever since she was young, Haru loved to be with pokemon. One problem was her parents, they were very strict and didn't allow her to go out. One day, while her parents were away, she snuck out and ran into the forest nearby. There, she came across a Shiny Zorua that she befriended and played around with. The minutes passed, then turned to hours, and she never noticed until police appeared behind them, calling into his walkie-talkie about her whereabouts. After that, her parents became stricter and rarely left the house to watch her. Years later, she was forced to move in with her grandparents after her parents kept having to go on long business trips. Her grandparents lived on Poni Island, so that's where she went, saddened about her lost friend. Only her grandmother was there, her grandfather was out exploring. When he returned, suprisingly, he brought her a pokemon, knowing about how strict her parents were and didn't allow her to make friends. It happened to be the Zorua she befriended, which her grandfather found unique as it was rare to the region, it was a shiny, wasn't afraid to get closer like other pokemon, and he sensed a unique feeling from it. From then on, Haru and the Zorua, nicknamed Zoey, were rarely ever apart.

    Strengths: Haru's caring nature has her helping others even in the worst conditions, putting others above herself. When having to choose between the Pokemon's or her injuries, she'll always go for the former, no matter the complaints. Thanks to her cheerfulness, she tends to try and brighten the atmosphere whenever it's negative, for not even a gloomy storm can bring down her smile. Instead she'll just laugh it off and suggest playing in the rain. People may think she's childish under it all, but she can be smart and serious in an instant. If someone bullies her friends or Pokemon, she'll waste no time snaping at them. If it's an adult, she'll still snap. If it's a richie, she'll do it. No matter the person or their relations, even if it's a pokemon, she'll brave up. When she's not cheerful, she's becomes bashful, her shy nature coming out. Most of the time, you'll see her more bashful than cheerful, but she has her hyper moments.

    Weaknesses: Her caring and cheerfulness can't prevent her clumsiness, which has her falling a lot. The positivity outside doesn't reflect what's on the inside, her head swarming with negative thoughts about herself, and the one time her cheerfulness is long gone.     Jordan is on the tall side for her age, and a bit more slender than most. Despite both being born in and her family having their origins in Alola, her skin is pale from the generations of family from Sinnoh. She dresses simply, plain shirts, pants, and skirts, not terribly interested in more elaborate Alolan dress. Despite that, she keeps her appearances. Everything, including hair and clothing, is spotless and in place. The most noticeable aspect of hers is her cold clue eyes, contrasting with her dark hair.​

    Although her family has roots in Alola, her great grandfather had moved to Sinnoh in his early adulthood. Both her Grandparents and parents were born in Sinnoh, and it was only shortly before she was born that her parents had decided to return to their origin in Alola, Ula'Ula in particular. Jordan was to be the first of her (immediate) family to be born in Alola for generations. It was also the first Alolan Wray in generations that also contained an odd birthmark on her upper arm, coincidentally in the sign of Scorpio. It didn't take long for someone to discover what this sign meant, and a fair bit of her childhood was spent being idolized for something she didn't even understand.

    She eventually grew somewhat resentful, having burdens place upon her just for being born with a birthmark that looks like stars. Eventually she found that coldness and disinterest was often the best tool to ward off any potential fans, something her Sinnohan looks only helped. As she grew older, she began to look at her options carefully. It was possible to leave Malie City, maybe even Ula'Ula as a whole and become her own person, regardless of birthmarks and "destiny". Becoming a trainer seemed the best way to open several doors, so she set off. Although she was set to receive a starter for her journey, she was gifted with her Skorupi before she left, a tradition in her family started by her Great-Grandfather back in Sinnoh. Her fate will be hers alone.

    Strengths:

    Jordan is confident in her abilities, and not afraid to press an advantage. She's careful in her approach to a problem, running the full gambit of options to find a preferable outcome. Because of this she can be seen as brave (but that confidence is merely the result of skill and good planning). She's honest (often brutally so), and carries a particular dislike of liars, cheats, and thieves. She is also firm in her beliefs and not likely to bend to someone's will, or follow a dangerous plan when better options are available. She tries to be impartial in arguments, and attempts to project an image of disinterest. After all, one of the best ways to avoid conflict is to never get in that position in the first place. More irons in the fire is more tending that needs to be done.

    She has little in the way of true friends, but she cherishes the ones she does have. She's always ready to use her skills and resources for aiding a friend, and trusts them greatly. She herself hold the secrets of other's highly, never one to gossip or break someone's trust. Her sense of humor is often teasing, but also has shades of self-depreciation and even some gallows humor.

    Weaknesses:

    ​
    Unfortunately, Jordan has a tendency for secrets. She's not a liar, but often feels there is no need for the whole truth many times. This tends to paint her as manipulative, a label she doesn't agree with, but also doesn't bother fighting. Her honesty tends to turn people away from her, as does her stubborn nature. Her lack of friends is often the result of a innate distrust of people until they have "proven themselves to her (often without knowing they were being tested). Much to her own shame, there exists jealousy deep down inside her. She's often envious of those who rise above her, or those with more opportunities for success. As much as she tries to hide it, bitterness sometimes seeps out when dealing with the objects of her envy.

    Another point of conflict between her and most other people is her always taking the simple path to a solution. Theatrics aren't often needed in these solutions, and she's not one to put on a show for anyone else. In conflict, the simple method is often brutal as a result of her pragmatism. Conflict should be ended as soon as possible.​

    ?? Though his appearance may say otherwise, Robin is really born a male. His hair tumbles down to his waist, straight with a slight of wave when he moves, colored strawberry blonde with eyes as bright as blue like the sky above. His body is slender, sun-kissed skin with features as delicate, resembling a doll. His height stands at 5'0ft, right on the short meter which doesn't help when his looks are already deceiving.

    Birthmark is located on his left shoulder, hidden beneath the sleeves he wears. As for his outfit, Robin wears a short sleeve jean blouse, brown khaki shorts and finally, water-proof hiking boots. The bag he's using is a one sling backpack. Additionally, there are times where he ties his hair into a high ponytail, leaving his bangs and short strands. His voice is low and soft-spoken, no evidence of being a male even in his voice. The only evidence covered up in clothes. All in all, one can absolutely say he has a cute appearance. (P.S. He's not delicate as he looks.)

    HISTORY

    On Akala Island, located on a part of the island, Robin is born with only his mother present. His father meanwhile, traveled around the globe only returning every once in a blue moon. His mother did not mind, they weren't quite the close of a couple they are. She was content with Robin as her only companion in their home and her soon-to-be 'play doll'. Which happened after a few years.

    Since the age of three, she had bought clothes that clearly were meant for females to wear and so he was dressed up and continued to be. Robin had thought it was the norm until it was not when he was sent to elementary school only to be teased by his male classmates all the while the females and adult women cooed at his chubby feminine image.

    Though he had approached his mom into changing him back to what his gender needed in the first place: that is, boy clothes, he acquiesced at the sight of his mom pouting at him. Robin could not go against her, weak as his willpower is compared to hers. His father, when he was at home, was frankly in the same plate as he is. He ended up growing up a female, instead of a boyish boy.

    Before his journey began however, his father had told him of stories when he was present. Stories of olds. Legends. One of the story is about his birthmark, that he was not the only one. Perhaps that is why his mother insists on him wearing sleeves? To cover it up? Robin did not want that, however. He preferred to stay out of spotlight, the fame. He only had one dream: to be chosen a kahuna by the island guardians.

    And at the age of 17, he officially stepped out of his safe haven to travel around the world. Sightseeing, learning and to grasp what he wanted to be. For now, he'll need experience and the only thing that can happen is by becoming a trainer.

    STRENGTHS

    His strength lies in his peaceful personality. Robin is kind and would love to help you if you are in need. (Provided that he can.) He carries a soothing aura, known to be gentle, one you can approach and is quick to make friends. (Possibly.) There's a slight cheeriness in his steps, light and free. Patient and understanding, he isn't one to do unnecessary violence. He can be a quick thinker. Charming and caring, he's a someone you can count on. You may not be able to lie to him, his innocent expectant expression might make you crumble! If you want a cheer, you can bet on him to support you. Don't be surprise if his stamina surpasses yours or that he can be strong, he's been hitting on the gym to prove he can be manly. (The results? Unsuccessful.)

    WEAKNESSES

    He hates being alone, worse yet: un-needed when he has the capacity to be helpful. There are moments where he's indecisive, unsure what to do and what his end decision would be. Robin can also be persuaded to change his mind in simple things if he's really unsure; not knowing what he'll choose. When he's down, he pretty much mopes for a long while and should be left alone, he'll just mumble pitiful things if approached and comforted. Robin also struggles in being a boy, quickly reverting to being feminine. Mostly before he has a chance to show that he's really male.

    Appearance: Orph is a bit on the short side at 5' 1", and resembles his Sinnoh father more than his Alola mother. His skin is light, his eyes hazel, and his hair dark and messy. Even his clothes are messy, usually untucked or wrinkled, despite how simply he dresses. Besides his simple shirt, pants, and vest, he wears a leather bracer on his left arm to cover his birthmark.

    History: Despite being a child of two different countries, Orpheus spent most of his life in Sinnoh, where his father came from. When he was still a teenager, Orph moved to Alola with his mother, who returned to her home country to look after her sick father. Orph's father couldn't come with, his job at a local Gym preventing him from leaving the country without someone to replace him. Though he still keeps in touch, Orpheus has spent the last few years without his father, and is still unaware of many of Alola's customs and quirks. His mother appreciated his help, but decided Orph needed to go live his own life, and as he had never completed the Island Trial Challenge, thought it would be a good way to introduce him to Alola. He was set to receive a starter Pokemon, but he also brought along Rags, the Ghost that had been inhabiting their house's attic for years.

    Strengths: Orph may not care much for his own appearance and well-being, but he is skilled at tending to others, be they person or Pok?mon. Taking care of the sick and wounded, cooking food for the hungry, or just grooming and styling are all among his favorite pursuits. He has a good eye for detail, can be creative and expressive, but knows when to be subtle or gentle. He has a hard time saying "no" to people, and is a great listener, so people often come to him with their problems, even if they just need a sounding board or someone to vent to.

    Weaknesses: Simply put, Orph is lazy and disinterested in the world at large. He feels the simplest solution is usually best, as it means he doesn't have to put in as much effort. He often doesn't pay attention when people are talking, and tends to forget the little details even when he does. Even so, he often refuses to ask for help, as he doesn't trust others to do things right. He often comes across as exasperated or bored, leading many to write him off as an inconsiderate bum.

    Ooookay, I'm gonna give this a shot! :) I'd like to start this, but I'll need to wait til tomorrow to really get into it. I'm still fond of my RP character from other journey RPs, Benny, so I'm going to be using him and adapting him for Alola!

    Name: Benny Emmett
    Gender: Male
    Age: 21

    Appearance:
    A tall young man with brown, messy hair and freckles dotting his nose, Benny would be described as plain by some, attractive by others, and "funny looking" by a select few girls that had teased him all throughout their school years. He had some muscle definition, but only from working the docks and restaurant at the harbor in Vermilion. He had a calm look about him usually, but under pressure, his tense gaze gave away every thought he had. Despite this, anyone who knew Benny would tell you his smile was his best feature and those same girls that called him "funny looking" were often seen trying to coax smiles out of him before giggling like they were still eleven.

    Benny is usually seen with his letterman jacket for VCU (Vermilion City University), a white on blue jacket he earned on the tennis team with his name embroidered on the back with his number, 24, but in this warm climate, he had taken to wearing his baseball jersey. When not wearing his jersey, he wore the restaurant shirt from his time at the harbor. It was a place full of fond memories for Benny and he wore the shirt with pride, despite many friends mocking him for it.

    He wore tan khakis and a pair of sandals that fit comfortably, letting him run or walk at his leisure. He also had a pair of blue and white sneakers in his backpack - brand new - for times where his sandals just wouldn't cut it.

    Benny's backpack was older and had seen use during his adventures in Kanto, but it was black and contained every possession he had: his father's engraved Pok?ball which held Benny's beloved Pok?mon, Rillo, was attached and hanging on the outside of the bag. He also had a second ball attached which held his Squirtle, who he had not nicknamed yet. His grandfather had shown him how to capture Pok?mon before he left for Pewter City back in Kanto and he had stocked up before leaving for Alola.

    In the bag also held a few changes of clothing, some snacks, a university textbook guide to identifying Pok?mon and their weaknesses, camp-fire essentials, and his wallet. He had a few other knick-knacks in the bag, but mostly packed light to ensure he had room for souvenirs along his new journey.​

    History:
    Benny grew up with his father, mother, sister, and his grandparents. Growing up, his father expressed his lifelong dream of beating all of Kanto's gyms and perhaps attempting the Elite Four. His father expressed some disappointment at having lost that dream, but always ensured his children that his life was exactly as he wanted it: with them. A fisherman at the harbor, his father was swept to sea during an extremely violent storm and his Pok?ball containing Rillo was all that remained of his father once the storm subsided.

    Benny's mother stayed strong for her children, but his grandparents took care of many household necessities to assist his widowed mother. She was a strong influence on Benny and encouraged him to leave on adventures that he had skipped to attend school and find a career to support them all. His sister had left the house around age 11 to attempt a Pok?mon adventure of her own, but over the years, her time traveling abroad limited what contact the family had with her. She had sent them a postcard from Alola not long before Benny planned to set out for the islands. He planned to meet up with her after many years apart once he knew which island she was on.

    His grandmother had passed soon after his father, but her chronic illness was expected and the family took advantage of their time with her by taking a trip to Hoenn to see the sights with her. She always loved it there and the trip gave her the last bit of satisfaction she could have dreamed of in life. Benny's grandfather took it well and became the pillar of support for the family, despite losing the woman he loved. Since Benny's journey in Kanto, his grandfather and mother had both passed on as well and Benny had sold most of the belongings that had been left behind, as well as the house they had all lived in. Any personal belongings or memories he wanted to keep now rested in the garage of his best friend - who had agreed to let him keep the belongings there while he traveled. There wasn't much left but photos and other trinkets from his family's life together.

    Benny spent several months in Kanto traveling with a friend named Efa. They had grown close, but enough time apart had shown them they were not meant to be. They remained friends and she too was traveling to Alola soon. They intended to meet and catch up as well in Hau'oli City when she arrived.​
    Strengths:
    Benny is an intelligent young man. He graduated from university with honors and was a constant success in classes ranging from mathematics to Pok?mon biology and evolution courses. Despite this, he is still down-to-Earth and friendly to all he meets, spending little time judging others and openly accepting people, faults and all. He has some physical ability and thanks to his enjoyment of hiking, is sure-footed and able to scale some hills and walls with ease. This keeps him out of trouble (and in some cases, gets him into more trouble), but he often uses the skill to explore scenic locations. Thanks to living and working near the harbor, Benny is a world-class fisherman and cooks fish like a professional chef, even on his small camp-fire skillet. His prowess in the water keeps his belly full, and if not hungry, he's always up for a good battle with whatever he catches.

    Weaknesses:
    Benny is quick to embarrass, turning bright red at a moment's notice. He is easily flustered and when threatened or upset, his voice quivers from the adrenaline. He can't control it and it makes him look weaker than he is. It also causes him to become flustered during battles and prevents him from properly executing attack requests to his Pok?mon.

    Benny is also known to make rash decisions, which usually results in him getting into sticky situations. This, coupled with his complete lack of financial forethought, leads him to having an empty wallet more often than a full one. Benny is also known for his poor sleeping habits and spends many nights in his thoughts, unable to drift to sleep.

    Name:     Makoa Lahahana
    Gender: Male

    Birthmark: Virgo

    Description:     A vibrant and very bald eccentric who's always raring to go and get a move on, but not always willing to turn those rusty cogs in his thick head. Former Pyukumuku-chucker.






    Appearance: While he is certainly no renowned body builder, Makoa developed a rather well-built and defined form which he boldly presents to the public with very little regard for modesty. Practically vestiphobic, he shuns the textile market and seldom wears anything more but his red swim shorts which is decorated with fake leaves that protrude out of the bottom slits. He even discards any coverings for his feet and walks barefooted, no matter what terrain he lands upon. But if needed, he will occasionally don a very loose green shirt with purple floral patterns. He is always seen wearing his colorful shades, even at night; no one has ever seen his eyes or least lived long enough to tell it. Some zany theorists even speculate his eyes discharge an optical laser beam and the shimmering lens on his shades actually filter out this dangerous energy. His complexion is smooth and his peachy skin tone is a little tanned from the sun. Perhaps his most prominent feature is his glabrous head which can reflect the luminous rays of Alola's sun just as well as an actual chrome dome. Makoa has a birthmark on his right arm, which he often compares to a burly scar.

    "If it weren't illegal or least inappropriate, Makoa would be a dedicated nudist. And do go easy on the bald jokes, friend."

    History: A native to the Alola region, Makoa Lahahana was born on Akala Island. Not particularly wealthy, his family owned a small residence in Heahea City and being gifted any luxurious privileges was something of a fairy tale for a young Makoa. As a go-getter who dislikes staying indoors as much as he hates the textile world, Makoa would often run errands and tried to develop relationships with other people. He made frequent trips to Hano beach to volunteer as a Pyukumuku-chucker. This part-time job helped Makoa to develop one mighty throwing arm and he was capable of launching the tiny sea cucumbers over a whopping three hundred miles. However, his horrendous aim and lack of forethought often resulted in him accidentally pelting unsuspecting victims in the head. His mishaps and antics became bad enough that he was eventually barred from Hano beach entirely. And this terrible quirk translated its way into Makoa's skills to toss even Poke-Balls, making it very difficult or even nigh-impossible to capture even the most dormant Pocket Monsters in a conventional manner. Despite such a handicap, Makoa used the savings he earned from the job in order to fully devote himself to his bigger ambitions by becoming one of the many trial-goers.

    PERSONAL
    Strengths: Despite his haughty attitude and his propensity to superciliously refer to himself in the third person when communing with others, Makoa is actually quite magnanimous and he rarely goes out of his way to put others down. While he is indeed chauvinistic and will absurdly dismiss his faults when confronted, he only exaggerates his bravado in order to evoke his own confidence and act decisively when the situation demands immediate action. While perhaps not the most charming individual, Makoa is quite gregarious and actively converses with others; but he can be a little pushy at times, especially when dealing with the socially withdrawn. What he lacks in basic etiquette, he makes up for genuine amiability.

    "Makoa has no weakness."





    Weaknesses: While Makoa's bravado does help him seize the moment for himself, it does not help him with his terrible foresight. He seldom considers the repercussions of his decisions or even take account of the variables around them, which inevitably leads him to into heaps of trouble. While not necessarily dimwitted, Makoa is very brash and relies on basic impulses to quickly handle his problems rather than make use of his own intuition. Whether he inadvertently spouts something offensive to an individual or impressively causing an object to ricochet off a wall and hit a bystander, it all comes down to Makoa's constant aversion to think ahead.

    An unusual quirk is Makoa's unusual intolerance of heat. In fact, his refusal to wear anything more but what ultimately amounts to his undergarments is to prevent himself from overheating from Alola's wrathful scorch. Because of this, he is inept when handling Fire-Types or any critter that can willingly rise the temperature to insufferable levels. In contrast, Makoa is completely impervious to the frigid cold even in his birthday suit.

    Dossier:     A curious Pyukumuku that was unintentionally tamed by Makoa back when he was working as a chucker on Hano beach. For reasons not yet known, this particular specimen imprinted onto the bare-headed lad as its "home" and incessantly follows him everywhere. The imprint even affected some of its natural behavior, causing it to emulate some of Makoa's own expressive traits and even don its own pair of dirty black shades. Despite its persistent pestering and odd antics, Makoa decided to capitalize on the bizarre yet adorably endearing phenomenon and simply adopt this outlandish sea critter as his very own and the two do share a rather intimate bond.
