HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
Marks two years since Virtual Pokemon Pet received its own section. Originated from Pokemon Elite 2000, an old Pokemon forum. Ported that game over to here and grew it into what you see today. Existed for a little over four years on these forums now. May not have carried on that long if not for the continued participation and interest from its users. Thanks everyone for popping in and partaking in this game, from new trainers to veterans of the section.Celebrates this occasion by raising a Community Pokemon and creating a Community Item. Begins by signing up with the following information:
Username:
Requested Pokemon:
Requested Item:
Allows you to nominate any one official Pokemon. Includes unique Pokemon not normally obtainable, such as Pink Nidoking from the anime, Eternal Flower Floette, Pokeball Magearna, and even the currently revealed Pokemon from Scarlet/Violet. Be sure to mention if you want it shiny too.
In addition, choose one item from The Poké Mart. Cannot select any permanent upgrades (such as a Rainbow Stone or Mega Ring). Accepts any other item as valid.
Assembles a list of all the nominations. Decides the Community Pokemon and Community Item from that with a roll the dice. Becomes the Community Pokemon and Community Item for everyone to raise together.
Raises the chosen Pokemon by posting, like always. Works similarly for the Community Item. Requires a combined 1,000 posts for the Community Pokemon and a combined 500 posts for the Community Item by September 14 to successfully complete. Counts every post towards both rewards. Do not worry about posting that much by yourself, however. Determines your posting requirement by dividing 500 and 1,000 posts by the number of participants.
As an example, say that there are five participants.
500 posts / 5 people = 100 posts per person for the Community Item.
1000 posts / 5 people = 200 posts per person for the Community Pokemon.
Becomes much easier with, say, nine people.
500 posts / 9 people = 55.56 posts per person for the Community Item.
1000 posts / 9 people = 111.11 posts per person for the Community Pokemon.
Reduced your personal requirements by about 45 and 90 posts, thanks to four extra people helping.
Added an extra rule this time. Previously required every participant to fulfill their personal post amount. Failed for everyone otherwise. Changed that. Checks how much other users overshot their goal at the end of the event with this new rule. Automatically contributes posts past that mark towards the shortfall. Sends up to 50% (rounded up) over their post requirement. Awards the Community Item and Pokemon to everyone who reached their goals, if the required amounts are reached, but not to anyone who missed their goal.
Example: Six users participating: Megan, Roni, Starlight, Shooting Star, Fairy, and Devalue. Sets the Community Pokemon individual goal at 166 posts (with four people at 167) and the Community Item individual goal at 83 posts (with two people at 84). Ends the event at the following amounts.
Devalue: 40 posts (Goals: 84 and 166)
Roni: 180 posts (Goals: 84 and 166)
Starlight: 400 posts (Goals: 83 and 167)
Shooting Star: 200 posts (Goals: 83 and 167)
Fairy: 271 posts (Goals: 83 and 167)
Megan: 90 posts (Goals: 83 and 167)
Calculates the Community Item first. Attained the goal for everyone but Devalue. Totals 456 posts (40 + 84 + 83 + 83 + 83 + 83). Needs 44 posts from other users to earn the Community Item. Beat it easily on Shooting Star and Starlight, however. Allows them each to contribute 42 posts (50% of 83, rounded up). Gives the Community Item to Roni, Starlight, Shooting Star, Fairy, and Megan, but not to Devalue.
Functions the same way for the Community Pokemon as well. Hopefully makes sense. Feel free to ask any questions about this or anything else about this event.
Ends sign-ups at the end of August 30. Be sure to include the Pokemon and Item you want to nominate. Begins raising the Community Pokemon and Item immediately after sign-ups close. Only counts posts after sign-ups close. Cannot join after sign-ups close. Concludes this event on September 14.
