I feel like there would be two options for Mega Scolipede if they decided to change it's typing in a Mega form: either a Steel/Poison Type which hasn't been done before (it's still weak to fire) or a Dark/Bug combination which also has not been seen before. And give it lots and lots of legs that end in points for stabby fun time. So an extra Speed and Attack boost would be great to see, along with a decent ability (although Speed Boost itself is pretty good)

Though I would like Pokémon that weren't a Mega to be those types. A smokestack Steel/Poison Type would be pretty good, and what about a Poison/Psychic type?

I wonder how it would be if Scolipede were to ever gain a mega-evolution form?

Hopefully, they don't extend its body size too much, as I personally find it to be fine the way it is. Perhaps they might be able to have more spikes attached onto itself, similarly to how it is for its pre-evolution? In terms of stats, I feel it would be great if it were to gain boosts in Speed, perhaps, as well as Defense and Special Defense. I'm not sure if it'll be gaining any type change, but if it does, it would be cool if it were to turn steel, partially.

If Mega-Scolipede does wind up to be bug-steel, then appearance-wise, maybe they could have a metallic armor added onto this Pokémon? I believe this would help explain its defensive raises and whatnot, which is a good thing. As for ability, it'd be nice if it were to get Heatproof (although this might sound a little over-top).

I want a Dark-Poison type Mega Scolipede, like a ninja-bug that isn't Accelgor. It looks so evil that I am surprised it isn't Dark-type. Not that I am associating Dark with evil. Just stereotypes man.

Also, I found a good M-Scolipede picture.

Oh my goodness, a black Scolipede with more menacing circles? I would use that in a second. :o

And if it became Dark/Poison that'd be an arguably better type combination than Bug/Poison, as it'd be able to handle those nasty Ghost and Psychic-types. But it'd need some good Dark-type attacks if that were to happen...

Dat Mega Scolipede tho

The drippy circles look really cool. Maybe two stabby arms could work too. I think that could've helped.

That would be awesome. I totally agree with you, although isn't Scolipede a bit large to be a ninja bug?

AREN'T YOU A LITTLE TOO QUESTIONING TO BE A POKEMON FAN

*coughcough* Sorry. .-.

Oh lord, that artwork looks amazing.

It doesn't seem that Mega-Scolipede has much structural change from its original form, which is definitely nice. Although I did suggest some things in my previous post, thinking about it now, it'd likely be better to stay away from those, considering that most Pokémon aren't precisely meant to go through body changes when mega-evolving (though, having color palettes darken or lighten does make sense).

Like Varys, I'm pretty fond of how they had made those circles seem more dripping; if you ask me, this represents poison quite well.

I'm not one to knock some nice piece of work, but I just don't see Scolipede turning into this as a Mega evolution. They made the antenna larger, removed the little 'leg nubs' and changed the color pallet. So far all of the Mega Forms have changed drastically in appearance (perhaps besides Venusaur) so I'm just not feeling it for Scolipede on this one. I think it should appear more 'serpent' like or longer. Imagine a giant centipede coiled into an infinity symbol? Maybe with two heads. That's Mega Scolipede.

Well if most mega evolutions drastically change in appearance anyway, wouldn't Scolipede just be a new member to the club? I guess I can see where you're coming from but it's not really too huge of a difference other than a few body alterations and a recolour. :>

And yeah, haha. While Charizard and Blastoise are getting upgrades to dragons, stronger cannons and other cool features, Venusaur gets... a flower in the middle of its head? The effort was real there. :(

Back to Scolipede though, I really like the idea of a monster-sized centipede that's able to run around at great speeds. It's a great bug/poison but if we were to change or improve on one thing, it'd be its lack of a mega. While I can't think of anything other than the fanart posted above, there'd be a lot of design potential. Maybe not as a ninja but perhaps a body that'd still make use of its agileness? Something like that.

I guess you guys have a point there but I still like/shudder in fear at the thought of a giant ninja bug I could ride. Two blade-like arms are what I think could've made it better, though I think I said that.

Hey-Mega Venusaur's flower is cool. XD
Is Red going to show up with Mega Saur in PokeSpe

For me, giving Scolipede speed boost is not really complementing its design. I mean, yes, it is really great competitively. But, the aerodynamics of him running at fast speeds just puts too much stress on his legs as he is not really streamlined, like racecars.

I'm thinking of redesigning Scolipede to like an arrow. More flat and nowhere near as bulky. Imagine a real centipede but straighter and sleeker.

Ah, more akin to this:
Spoiler:

I agree on certain dynamics, but I believe creating it more akin to this and having it coil itself. I think it'd be great and a big surprise if Mega Scolipede achieved such a long length that it quadruples. I don't know, but I've always thought the 'hooves' of Scolipede were strange. Legs akin to Ariados' would be preferable.

Spoiler sport. . . always cruising my fun away. . . anyways, we're all part of the same club. Die Gift Verein. The Poison Club. You also stole the chance for me to have the 1000th post in this Club! Grah! So congratulations Poison Club on being 1001 posts old!

We had a great talk about Scolipede, and now we await the next Pokémon of the week with bated breath (I hope the one introduced can explode).
